cough syrup ## need usual dosages of tussionex, am transcriptionist and cannot understand the dosage he is dictating. ## Hi Silvergale, According to EmedTV.com, If you are using Tussionex to suppress a cough or other upper respiratory symptoms caused by allergies or the common cold, the typical recommended dose is one teaspoonful every 12 hours. However, the Tussionex dosage is lower for children ages 6 to 11, as well as for elderly people, who may be more sensitive to the medication. The dosage also depends on other medications you are currently taking. Tussinex and Tussincaps are already on the market and while it does work to calm cough its become notorious for the high it gives since the antihistamine in it potetiates the hydrocodone! it should be taken off the market since any opiod drug can suppress coughing and sneezing and they arent as mind altering as this combo! ## Based on my research, both of these drugs do interact with one another. Quoted below are the precautions that more people should be aware of: "Using Chlorpheniramine together with Hydrocodone may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience some impairment in thinking and judgment. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications. Avoid driving or operat...

Does this medicine have real codeine or synthetic? I am allergic to the real stuff but I can take meds like vicodin & darvocet. ## Tussionex contains Chlorpheniramine and Hydrocodone, the same narcotic as that in Vicodin, so no, it doesn't contain regular Codeine. Side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. You can read more on this medication here: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## How long does tussinex extended release show in urine ## Diana, Since it is a sustained release formulation the standard 72-96 hours could be an additional 36-48 hours. These are only hypothetical. Folks have cleared in as little as 60 hours while others showed positive after 8 days so it's all relative. There are far too many metabolic variables so even...

I have a tropical flavored hydrocodone-apap liquid but it doesn't say the strength?!! How much wud I need to take to equal 1 yellow 10/325 norco? It says take 1 teaspoon every 4-6 hrs for cough. Or am I way off and the whole bottle won't equal 1? Lol ## The bottle should have the amount of medication in 5 cc's on the bottle. Are there any numbers on the bottle after the name of the medication ? ## If it's hydrocodone/acetaminophen sol, it's 7.5/325 per 15 ml meaning 7.5 mgs hydrocodone, 325 Tylenol if it's the new sol, older formula has 500mg acetaminophen(Tylenol) so you would need 20ml to get 10mg. Be careful of Tylenol tho. New recommended dose is 3000mg per day. Now if its cough syrup, it's tussinex , is it super thick? That's 10mg hydrocodone per 5 m...
