I'm moving to Tulsa, OK and need to find a pain management doc that will not do injections, but does give meds. I have been told not to have them done by my anesthesiologist and pain management doc due to where my problem is, past surgeries..neck.. I am new to Tulsa and my PCP will not prescribe Xanax (but is not against me being on it). The psychiatrists with whom I have spoken with so far seem to not want to prescribe it at all two therapists with whom I have spoken confirmed that doctors in Tulsa are reluctant to prescribe. Does anyone know of a psychiatrist who will prescribe Xanax? I take it for anxiety and it helps me get through the day. I am on a relatively low dose of only 2mg per day and do not wish to raise that, only maintain my current level. Any help is appreciated. I have osteoarthritis all over and cannot take anti-inflammatories. I have been in pain management for years but the doctor recently changed and the new one wants to do stuff like burn the nerves off my spine and run a wire up my spine and into my neck for a permanent tens unit. I do not want to do these procedures! I do not (and never have) abused drugs and always take them as directed. I need a pain doctor that will prescribe a long acting (extended release) like Opana or Oxycontin AND Norco or Percoset 10/325 for break thru pain. My doctors office that was giving me oxycocodone 30mg just closed his office. I live in the Tulsa, Ok area. I am having a hard time finding a doctor that will prescribe them for me.
