I started taking Sulfameth Trimethoprim DS 24 hours ago. It is making me very sleepy, dizzy and slightly nauseated. Is this normal? I'm taking it for a urinary tract infection and I didn't feel this bad before taking this medication! Will it have this effect for 7 days or will I get used to it? I didnt go to work today, but can't afford to lay around for a week. Can somebody please tell me if they have this reaction and what did you do about it ? ## This med makes me sick. I wake up and I feel sick going to bed I feel sick. I'm using it to treat a boil. Its helping but the loss of appetite is true. I can't afford to lose another pound. I'm tired of feeling sick. I am a diabetic and I take 30 units of insulin everyday twice a day. I have the 800mg/160mg pills and want to cut them up to give to a dog with a UTI but I am unsure which mg dose I use to figure out how much to give to a 10# dog. How does this drug affect a person who is current taking Humira for RA? How long should a person be off Humira 40mg before taking Sulfameth/TMP DS Tab. Dosage 2 tablets twice daily. ## Have you discussed this with your doctor? There is really no specific time frame, the information just says to discontinue Humira for the time period you are taking antibiotics. It isn't that it causes a dangerous interaction, but that the Humira can make it harder for your body and the antibiotic to work and fight the infection. Some doctors will have their patients stop Humira, while taking antibiotics to fight infection, but some will just prescribe a higher dosage of the antibiotics.

I took sulfamethoxazole trimethoprim 800/160 mg which expired 2 years ago; but i only took half and I have had a headache all day. Can I now take ibuprofen for the headache?
