Has anyone taken Trileptal (for anger) and Paxil (for anxiety) together? Did it help? My son has taken Trileptal which has helped the anger but the anxiety is no better. ## They can be taken together, if his doctor approves and is monitoring him regularly, but the FDA does warn that it may intensify some of the side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, mood changes, and weight changes. Is he on any other medications? What conditions has he been diagnosed with?

I have been taking Trileptal for about a year for TN. I have been experiencing joint pain more and more. My neurologist thinks this is not a side effect? I just want to know if anyone else has this problem!! Also has any natural ways to deal with TN worked for anyone? ## Hello, Tina! How are you? Your neurologist is most likely right, typically this medication is known to cause back pain, but not joint pain, as listed by the FDA and NIH. My fiancé is on this medication, so I've read up on it quite a bit. Other typical side effects are listed as possibly including weight changes, dry mouth, change in taste, earache and muscle weakness. Are you on any other medications? Can anyone taking this for TN chime in with their experience? ## Hi there!! Thanks for your reply! This is the ...

I just started using ic oxcarbazepine a week ago. I take 150mg twice a day and it started kicking in within the first few days of taken the medication. Normally most psych medications take two weeks to kick in but my doctor told me I would notice a difference within the first few days then notice more of a major difference as time goes on. I have been on a bunch of different psych medications which have taken almost a month to work for me but I strongly recommend anyone to have they're doctor prescribe them ic oxcarbazepine ( generic brand of trileptal ) for bipolar disorder or depression because you will notice the change within the first couple days. ## Hello, Angie! How are you doing? I am very glad that this medication works so well for you. Not all medications work for everyone...

I have taken Trileptal for many years to treat trigeminal neuralgia. My legs become very heavy in the afternoon and evening. There is no swelling. They also are constantly cold. I also have Raynaud's so I always have cold hands and feet. ## Does Trileptal cause Tinea Vericolor when taken by children under 3 years old? ## I've just been put on Trileptal and am having nausea and vomiting. Does this last for weeks or does it go away? Please tell me that it goes away soon. I can't keep anything down and have no appetite. ## To the OP, what do you mean by your legs becoming very heavy? Are they weak? Is it hard to walk? Are you becoming dizzy? The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and mood changes. Is the prescription drug Trileptal or its generic a blood thinner? ## Regarding a generic form of Trileptal: are any made that are white capsules? I was told the manufacturer of this specific generic was caraco, however no one has ever heard of a 'generic Trileptal' capsule that is all white. Reason being - I think I was given the wrong drug, and thus had withdrawl symptoms for a week, followed by a few small break through seizures, ending with a gran mal - first ever... any info would be much appreciated. thanks. ## Hello I read your post. My generic is trileptical. I'm on the drug been for a few months. I'm skeptical with it as it says you mix with oxycodone it can lower your blood level and over dose. Hey guys. So I take both Lo Loestrin Fe and Trileptal for my bipolar-ness. I know that theres an ingrediant in Trileptal that can make the pill less effective, however I take a low dose of it (300 mg). I dont know how effective it is with it being at such a low dosage. Any help would be great. ## HI, Faith! How are you? From what I can find, it doesn't matter what the dose if of the Trileptal, it affects the metabolism of the estrogen hormone in these types of contraceptives, which greatly reduces their effectiveness and means that you are most likely not protected against pregnancy. Learn more Trileptal details here. The recommendation is that you use a non-hormonal form of contraception. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## Really I just wanted to know if at least some of...

I started trileptal at 16 or 17 years old, took it for about 5 years, and have been off of any psychiatric meds for about 4 or 5 years now. I developed a slight tick that doesn't interfere with my day to day, but I notice it. People close to me have never pointed it out, so I don't think it's obvious, but sometimes I have to try twice to pick something up because my finger or neck/head twitches. Should I expect this to be permanent? I know it's on the list of side effects for trileptal. Could it be degenerative? ## Hi Mia, Sorry to hear about your experience with Trileptal. I find it unusual that symptoms would linger for so long even after stopping the medication. In most cases I've been aware of, one should expect adverse effects to subside after discontinuing the ...

I’ve been prescribed Trileptal off-label to treat my bipolar disorder. I had my doubts as to the efficacy of this drug in that capacity, though others have sworn by it, but am now at a position where I cannot continue to safely take this medication. Two weeks ago I was prescribed 600mg daily (two 300mg tablets). During those two weeks, I had a bit of a behavioral “episode,” and so I was upped to 900mg at my last visit. Haven’t had any issues with it up to now, and hadn’t noted any side effects let alone actual effects of the medication. It might as well have been sugar pills. That is, until about 4AM this morning. I awoke dry lipped with a vicious itch on my posterior. I absconded to the bathroom to scratch this itch and noted a silver dollar size welt on m...

Can Instaflex be taken with Trileptal, Klonopin or Azor ## Hi Carrie, Unfortunately, there aren't any drug interactions/contraindications listed between natural alternatives (such as Instaflex) and pharmaceutical preparations. So there's really no way to know for sure how safe it may be alongside any of those medications you mentioned. For that reason alone, I believe your best bet would probably be to consult a naturopathic physician or herbalist who truly understands how those natural ingredients work within your body and in conjunction with certain types of medications. Posted below are the ingredients found in Instaflex: Glucosamine Sulfate Methylsufonlylmethane (MSM) White Willow Bark Extract (standardized to 15% Salicin) Ginger Root Concentrate 4:1 Boswella Serrata Extract...
