CNS (central nervous system): Drowsiness, vertigo, headache, and dizziness are frequent. With high doses nervousness, agitation, anxiety, delirium, and confusion are noted. Trihexyphenidyl may be abused due to a short acting mood-elevating and euphoriant effect. The normal sleep architecture may be altered (REM sleep depression). Trihexyphenidyl may lower the seizure-threshold. Peripheral side effects : Blurred vision, dry mouth, impaired sweating, abdominal discomfort, and obstipation are frequent. Tachycardia may be noted. How long does trihexyphenidyl chloride work in your system before being excreted from your body? ## Hi Maggie, According to a peer reviewed journal by the US National Library of Medicine, the estimated reported half-life of Trihexyphenidyl is said to be 3.7 hours, give or take 40 minutes; at which point in time half of whatever mg dosage you took will be left working in your body (the other half excreted). So every 3.3 - 4.1 hours, "half of that remaining half" will be eliminated, and so forth until the medication is no longer active in your body. My Mom started this med. about 6 weeks ago. About 2 weeks ago she began seeing people, snakes, children etc.... We had them take away the med. on Saturday the 28th of May 2016. We fill this is the problem. How long before this med. is completely out of her system? As of the 31st my sister was with her and she saw snakes on the trash can. However, I do not see any intimate side effects listed. They list the typical side effects for Bupropion as possibly including nausea, dizziness, nervousness, insomnia, decreased appetite and sore throat. It has been known to affect libido and intimate function, but much less than other antidepressants.
