Trigger Finger

Are there any really good pain creams that can help with trigger finger pain compounded by osteoarthritis? ## Hello, Irene! How are you? What have you tried, so far? I'm wondering if something such as BenGay might help? Although, I am not sure how good it will work for such an issue, it may also cause some skin irritation and redness as side effects, according to the FDA. Does anyone else have any suggestions that might help?

My insurance won't cover any treatment for trigger finger (it's actually my thumb) but my doctor put me on 75mg Diclofenac 2x/daily. How long does it typically take to get rid of this condition? I've had trigger thumb for a month now and the doctor just put me on Diclofenac last week because it didn't just go away on it's own. I'm basically wondering how much longer I have to have a useless left hand! LOL ## There is really no specific time frame that can be given, it really depends on how severe it is, your own body's rate of healing and etc. Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so it can help with pain and swelling. Learn more Diclofenac details here. Has your doctor given you any other advice, such as using cold and warm packs, or etc?

I have been prescribed diclofenac gel and was wondering if there are any side effects. I was given this as oral nsaids are very hard on my stomach. Also, is this beneficial for a condition called Trigger finger? ## It can cause the same side effects as other NSAIDs, however, since it is topical, your body doesn't tend to absorb as much of it, so this prevents these problems for most people. It can generally help with any condition involving pain and inflammation, however, as with any drug, it doesn't work for everyone. As with any medication, the only thing you can really do is try it and see if it helps. ## If there's anything else I can help you with, please let me know. ## To Verwon, Thank you for the input. So far the diclofenac gel seems to help with the inflammation an...

In Aug. of 2016, I fell and broke my arm. I took Oxycodone for pain for about 3 months. It was the best sleep I'd had in 13 years (since my son passed away). Then my doc took it away. On Feb. 13, 2017, I had a trigger finger repaired and he gave me Oxycodone again. This time, I have a headache and trouble sleeping. Why is this? Oh and I only take it at night. If I take it more than that, I get very sick and sweaty. Thank you. ## Those can be normal side effects of this medication, so your body may have changed with age, causing you to experience them, now, though you didn't before. The FDA also warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and you may also experience dry mouth, and constipation. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

This last time my doctor changed my pain meds from Opana 10mg every 8 hr. and oxycontin 20mg twice a day TO Opana ER 15mg every 12 hours and Dilaudid 4mg every six hours I was crying and pretty hopeless with diabetic neuropathy in legs and arms, severe trigger fingers, hip pain, and my knees about to blow off with pain. I also have fibromyalgia. This doctor says that they will get in trouble if they change any of my meds. I said I'd rather just not be here living if I have to suffer like this. Hubby has dropped my bed from an extremely high bed to being on the floor (which has helped my hips). I dip my hands in scalding hot wax just to divert from the trigger finger pain. I use tubes of Bengay every two months. I no longer fix my hair b/c the tendon in my right shoulder is shredded ...

I share this experience in the hope of helping others who are suffering similar problems as a result of either Covid vaccines or the virus itself. Not long after my third Covid shot I started getting pins and needles in my fingers and hands. I blamed poor circulation at first but the problem quickly grew to severe pain in my hands and fingers, and trigger finger. The pain got so bad I consulted my GP who referred me to a specialist, who prescribed anti-inflammatory drugs. This then caused heart palpitations (I have a history of cardiac issues) so I stopped the medication immediately and survived on Panadol and, on bad days, Tramal 150. The problem got so bad that I couldn't open the screw top on a bottle of wine, and even the simple task of cleaning my teeth was painful. A second do...

I have used 150mg per day for six months, to deal with osteoarthritis in the hip. I moved from Oxycontin to Lyrica, and am satisfied with this decision. My hip replacement is pending within the next month or so. Lyrica is so effective in stopping the pain, I am wondering whether to stay on it, and keep pushing off the operation. The side effects that I have encountered are short term memory loss, decrease in stool volume and constipation. It is even hard to fart...perhaps it effects sphincter muscles in the body. I have put 8kg on since I began using lyrica, and I was initially alarmed when I developed trigger finger in all of my knuckles. I suffer from anxiety and depression, so was interested to see what the mood stabilizing aspect of the drug did. The depression is still there, but a...

I have 3 bottles of Meloxicam that have never been opened. They expired in 2016 and January 2017. Are they still good? ## Are they in pharmacy dispensed bottles, or the original factory sealed bottles? When they are place in a pharmacy sealed bottle, they are usually good for one year from the date you receive them, according to FDA directions, though while recently talking to a doctor about it, she informed me that the U.S. is the only country that requires an expiration date, most of them are good for many, many years. If they are in the original factory sealed containers, they are usually good for 4 to 5 years, under FDA law. ## My meloxicam is one year old and I have a diayanos of trigger finger on left thumb.
