has inflammation of the facial trigeminal nerve. is there medicine for this ## Hi clif, To my knowledge there are medications for nerve pain. However, I'm not sure whether or not they are specifically geared towards this particular facial condition. From what I've seen, Gabapentin or Lyrica are usually the general medications recommended by doctors for these types of conditions. Some people also suggest supplementing with a Vitamin B -Complex, as well as Turmeric, and Omega 3 fatty acids (DHA) for increased efficacy. You can learn more about each drug on the page for Gabapentin Details and Lyrica Details I hope this helps! ## my doctot put me on gapatin 800 mg 5mg of valium and tomapax it helps so much

I have been prescribed this drug today due to having painful nerve endings in the face.Is this a good drug for this type of pain?I need something to stop the pain.Fingerscrossed ## Well this was originally approved as an antidepressant, which later was found to help with some types of nerve pain. Whether it will help you or not, is something that no one can guess. These types of medications are great for some people, and don't work at all for others. All you can do is try it for a couple of weeks and see if it helps you. ## Sharon - I hope you read this. If you divide your face into 4 quarters, from ear to ear thru your nose and from chin to your fore head thru your nose, and you find that your pain is in one of these quarters there is a good chance you suffer from trigeminal neural...

Has anyone used this drug for neuropatic pain or trigeminal neuralgia? I've been taking neurontin. It helps a little with the pain, but seems to also be causing weight gain. Then he gave me Tramadol and this really helps with the pain. ## Mine was described/diagnosed as nonspecific neuropathic pain. Neurontin,Cymbalta and a few lesser known drugs were tried. I have been taking Pregabalin OD 100 mg twice daily for more than 18 months and Tegretol CR 200 - 1/2 tablet three times a day for 12 months. I also take a vitamin supplement daily. No other medications. My age is 71, male. I have not observed any side effects except for increased appetite and some memory loss, which may not be related to these medications but just age-related. I am suffering from Trigimenal Nuralgia, trying medicine like Tegeral but not effect.Ant remeady, the sever pain comes and go but the frequency is too nuch high,NS ## NS, I have Trigeminal Neuralgia as well so I understand your pain. If you have the Typical or Type 1 TN, which are the "electric bolt pain" too your head, unfortunately, only anti-seizure Meds will only stop that. If Tegretol didn't help, talk to your Neurologist about trying others. There are many to try. If you have Atypical or Type 2 TN, which is the constant burning nerve pain, yes, narcotics have helped a lot of TN sufferers, including myself. Most likely you will need to see a pain specialist to receive any pain Meds. I have found most Neurologists stick only with anti- seizure meds only. I have had TN sinc...

Hello. I have been taking Cymgen for 2 months on the 60mg dosage. One per day. Could you please tell me if it is likely to cause the sensation of numbness in my foot and lower leg and the continuous pain I experience in the left buttock. I have spoken to my doctor and he is adamant that there must be another cause for this and is sure that it is not caused by cymgen. The pain is unbearable and the tingling/numbness most worrying. I am usually a very active person participating fairly seriously in swimming, running and cycling. I have never experienced anything like this before. I would appreciate it if you could advise me. HELP! Gold, oblong/rectangular tablet, CG CG on one side, 31 31 on other, both sides scored ## Unable to locate this medication from a manufacturer. It could be an over the counter medication. ## If it is a form of oxprenolol then it would be a medication used for high blood pressure. It causes diarrhea, headache, dizziness, and nervousness. ## I found it, the poster just misread the imprint as they are very hard to make out on these pills. It is actually CG GC TE 31. This is Trileptal 300mgs, Oxcarbazepine. This is a med used to control partial seizures in someone with epilepsy and can also be used to treat facial nerve pain in people who suffer from Trigeminal Neuralgia. So it is not Oxprenolol. ## I'm impressed! ## Wow, thanks. That comment means a lot coming from you. Anyway, af...
