Will this work to stop vaginal dryness and itching and what are the side effects? ## Did your doctor prescribe this? This is a topical steroid cream, it is not normally meant to be used internally, such as placing into the vagina. do you insert Nystatin inside your vagina for inflamation?

I was prescribed Nystatin triamcinolone acetonide cream usp for inflamation of my cervix but I dont know if i am supposed to put the cream inside of my vagina? It says for external use only? ## Hi Jess, It may be a good idea to double check with your prescribing doctor first, but from my understanding - when a medication says "for external use only", I get the sense that they use that as a warning to not 'orally' ingest it. However, my personal opinion is that it should be ok to apply on the outer areas of the cervix and not directly inside, unless specifically instructed otherwise by your doctor. I think that would probably be the best way to play it safe until further notice if I were in such a position. Does anyone else have thoughts on this?
