High blood pressure-pill ## is the any type of sulpher in triamtrn/hctz 75/ 50 ....... thanks ## Not as an active ingredient and since it is a substance that many people are allergic to, they have to list that on the ingredients. If you wish to double check, since I do not know what company the medication you have is from, you can ask at the pharmacy were you had it filled.

red capsule it's in a bottle marked for blood pressure is that right ## Sally is my daughter and is taking this for high blood pressure. She is experiencing weight gain, dizziness, headaches, and is very lethargic. ## Those aren't common side effects for these medications, I suggest she speak to her doctor, there are other drugs available that she should be able to use without such nasty effects.

Ihave been taking triam/hctz for over a year and the pharmacy always dispensed tabs this time they gave me caps. they arewhite cap with grey lines and hve GG 606 I can't find a picture any where. please help ## Has anyone developed a cough because of this med? ## I was just prescribed this capsule and I am looking for information on it. I have been taking lisonpril/hctz 20-25 mg, is it safe to switch to triamt/hctz 37.5-25 mg? ## There is currently a shortage of Triamterene with Hydrochlorothiazide, so you may have trouble getting a prescription for it filled. Has your doctor recommended making this change? The difference between the two is the Lisinopril, which is a ACE inhibitor and the Triamterene, which is a potassium sparing diuretic. They are both used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions, but the Triamterene is often give to someone that requires diuretic therapy, but is too low in potassium. Why aren't there triamt/hctz tabs available? As I cannot get my script filled by prescription solutions pharmacy? ## The manufacturers of this generic medication have reported a shortage of Triamterene to the FDA, however, a reason for the shortage was not provided. They originally estimated a full supply would return to the market by late last month, but this did not occur and no other information has been provided. In the meantime, the best advice I can give you is to speak to your doctor about using an alternative medication. Why is there a shortage of this pill? My pharmacy is out of it and hasn't had it for a week? I need this medicine and cannot find it. ## this site does not manufacture any medications and, while there has been a shortage reported, no reason has been given by the companies that do manufacture it. The shortage applies to the Triamterene and the companies involved originally reported that it would be bake on the market in May or June, but this clearly hasn't happened. Have you tried consulting your doctor for an alternative that you can use? A comparable medication would be Aldactazide, which contains Spironolactone and Hydrochlorothiazide.

Hey there. I just started doing my parents medications. I have my Dad's straight, but am still working on Moms. Mom takes Lisinoprel, primarine, and has a bottle of triamterene hctz. Can't figure out why she was put on this. ( it's Friday, no talking to Doc til Monday). I missed one Dr. Apps with her and gets prescribed !! Any suggestions? I have COPD and I take Spireva. I also take Triamt/HCTZ 37.5-25 for mild high blood pressure. I have started having my hair fall out and to break off ... also I seemto be having a very fast heart rate wheb ever I stand or walk. Could one of the medications be causing this? I went to refill my prescription and for the first time in 12 years it is "not available". I have been switched but is this shortage mean its been discontinued? I do not seem to be doing as well with the replacement (retaining fluid more) and want my old medicine back! ## It has not been discontinued, at this time, according to the reports that are listed by the FDA, but that could change. Could use without side effects. Now my pharmacy doesn't carry this and uses only oval green pill marked APO. Instead of eliminating edema, I retain so much fluid that I can't wear my shoes and find it difficult to walk. Have asked pharmacist if others have had this problem and was told no one else had reported this problem. I have tried stopping and fluid decreases, although it takes several days, and waiting a week and starting again. I have done this three times and each time when I take the medication, the edema comes back. In fact it seems to be worse each time. Is it safe to take Diovan and Triamterene/hctz together? I just failed a flight physical partly because the ME said these two drugs shouldn't be taken together!! I've been taking them together for about two years as prescribed by my PCP. Really want to get completely off meds but presume I'll need to go slowly. Any advise?
