It took me days of searching to find a pharmacy to fill my oxycodone prescription. Every pharmacy would say the same thing "we only have enough for our regular patients". I finally found a walmart an hour away from my home to fill it and have been using them every month for six months. I'm a "regular patient". This month they didn't have my oxycodone because they said they ran out. Should they not reserve my medication since i'm a regular customer or were all the other pharmacies lying to me? ## It is actually entirely up to the pharmacy, they are permitted to do either/or. Every pharmacy is limited as to how much of any controlled substance they can order in and have in stock each month. Once they run out, they cannot order more and restock, until the follow...

Is there any chronic pain patients from Kentucky or Ohio that are finding themselves with no treatment and no where to turn for help? I am an advocate for pain patients and patients have contacted me saying how they had just moved to one state or the other and called many doctor offices to only be rejected because they are chronic pain patients already. The doctors offices say they are not accepting new patients or that the office does not treat pain. Can you imagine someone with cancer that has called 258 Dr offices and have been turned away because they take opiate medicine for pain? I was just wondering about how many patients were living in these states with no care or are left to with draw in severe pain with no dignity? Please share your experiences if you can. I feel there can be...

my brother is being kept on disulfiram for deadddiction of alchohole. i want to know that for how long he be kept on disulfiram. our intention is he should e kept for that much long time that here after he should not turn to his old habbit of consuming alchohole. ## My suggestion is that he take it for the rest of his life. There is no harm it in. One pill a day sure beats falling off the wagon and losing friends, job, money, family, etc. There is too much to risk, and too much to gain. Stick with what works.

I am suffering with TB and I am already taking treatment for it with Macox Plus tablet once daily for Four months. Now I have completed 25 days taking this medicine, and now my eyes got infection and the opthalmologist prescribed Omnacortil 60 mg tablet once daily for 15 days. It is advisable to take these two tables simultaneously ? I am worried because this tablet is a steroid and can further flareup TB.

I was told I was finished and to refer to my Dr. ## I was told that you should go off Prolia (take a holiday), then start taking it again. I cannot find any information that this is the case. I am a patient of RA for last 3 yrs and used to take Folitrax (7.5 mg per week) with HCQS (200 mg daily) along with Folvite (Folic acid). Recently (mid April to mid July 2009), I had a bout of fever associated with absolutely no other symptoms ( frequency 2 to 3 times a day peaking upto 102 F, when I had to take a paracetamol of 650 mg) . Detailed investigation (blood, USG of abdomen, CTscan of chest and abdomen, FNAC from liver) yielded nothing except presence of a few micro abcesses in the liver. The fever went off when the drugs I was being administered during the period of investigation were withdrawn (mid July 2009). Incidentally, RA drugs were stopped by the doctors in mid May 2009, in the initial stage of investigation. I am now (from mid July 2009) off the RA drugs as well as al...

I wanted to know the side-effects (if any) of taking this drug. Also how long can a patient can take this drug if he/she is getting good results from the intake? ## Ace Proxyvon contains Aceclofenac, Paracetamol/Acetaminophen and Rabeprazole, it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that is used to treat pain and swelling, with an additional element to help prevent stomach irritation and ulceration. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness and headache. As to how long you can take it, some of these medications can cause organ damage if taken for too long of a period of time. But, only you and your doctor can decide what is appropriate for you. Do you have any other questions? ## Ace-Proxyvon is a superb drug for any pain . Does anyone know of a doctor in WI that is willing to prescribe narcotics for chronic pain. I am a legitimate pain patient. I had twelve vertebrae fused and suffer from severe chronic pain that significantly impacts even the most simple daily activities. I have taken a large dose of opiates for a substantial amount of time (over 7 years) and metabolize the medication very quickly. My doctor is retiring, and I need to find a doctor with an open mind who is willing to look beyond the ignorant stigma surrounding narcotics and approach my treatment in a non-offensive way rather than immediately assuming that anyone who takes narcotics does so illegitimately. NEED A WI DR. HELP! WILL GO ANYWHERE IN WI. ## In Wisconsin, you actually have an organization called the Alliance of State Pain Initi...

My friend was recently diagnosed w/ early onset alzheimer's. He has been taking Lexapro(20mg) and klonopin(.5 to 1mg) daily for 4 yrs for anxiety and depression. The neurologist who diagnosed him wants to end the Lexapro and klonopin and try celexa (as well as galantamine for the alzheimer's). His psychiatrist disagrees and wants to continue the Lexapro and klonopine (at a slightly lower dose). That combo had not been working effectively for about 6 months and there is a lot of literature suggesting that long term use of klonopin esp. in older people causes cognitive decline, which is why I think he ought to ignore the psychiatrist. He is uneasy about this conflict in treatment. What should he do? Also, any other viable choices to help w/ anxiety/depression for someone w/ early ...

I need to speak with people that did this treatment. ## My husband recently had this treatment -- I too had a hard time finding Zevalin patients. I'm happy to help with info - let me know. ## I had a zevlin treatment 12-16-09. Would like to find out if anyone has been experiancing joint pain since treatment. Has anyone had results yet? ## Zevalin has been known to cause joint pain as a side effect, along with nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, fever, and anxiety. Ref: Zevalin Information If your pain is severe, you should consult your doctor for assistance, they may know what you can do to ease this symptom, or prevent it altogether. Are you on any other medications?

Hi I wonder if anyone can help. I'm newly on methadone and have not been to a dentist in years :( Anyway, turns out I need to get 2 fillings. What happens when the patient is on methadone? Will the anaesthetic still work as normal to prevent pain? What about pain afterwards? Or if it turned out I needed more treatment? What can someone on methadone be given for pain relief for what I imagine would be 4-7 days worth?

I have been taking suboxone for a couple months to get off other opioids. I've not been prescribed it thus far. What do I tell the doctor? ## Hello, Jenny! How are you? You should be honest with him, that way he knows what's going on and how to handle it as safely as possible for you. I understand it may be embarrassing, but the doctor has already heard far worse from other patients and he's used to dealing with this sort of thing. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
