what is trazodone myl my doc gave it to me instead of my reg trazodone what does the myl stand for ## The MYL on your Trazodone stands for the name of the manufacturer, Mylan. Manufacturers put their name or their name's abreviation on the their pills, tablets, capsules, etc. I believe it's a regulation. ## No, their name or logo being on there isn't a reglation, it just has to have a unique imprint to enable the identification of the manufacturer and what the product contains, in case of emergency. Your pharmacy will note the manufacturer on there, as part of their regulations. The other part from Wanda is correct, the MYL just means that these tablets were manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals, but they contain the same active ingredient Trazodone, which is an antidepressa...

I have a prescription for Trazodone. It was a white pill. I changed my pharmacy and the color is now cream and smaller. It's scored and has the markings MX 71. I cannot find any information for this particular pill. Is it a full dose or reduced by 20%.? ## I believe you have misunderstood how generic medications work, they are not all automatically reduced by 20%. To be approved by the FDA and allowed on the market as a generic, they must come within plus or minus 20% of the amount of the active ingredient in the name brand. Therefore, there can be some fluctuations, but that doesn't mean all generics have 20% less of the active ingredient. Many generic manufacturers have strict quality control and make certain that their medications contain the full dose, just like the name bra...

I was told by my pharmacy that they can no longer get this medicine but I have not seen anything online ## Hello, Joan! How are you? I'm not sure why this generic is no longer available, but a few other people have had similar problems. In most cases, they had to switch to Oleptro, which is a time released formulation of Trazodone. Have you consulted your doctor about the issue? The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes.

My extremely energetic dog takes Trazodone for calming. Recently the pharmacy refilled with a different manufacter pill which was slightly smaller and made by Zydus. The original RX was manufactured by TEVA. The effects were not the same....the dog was still bouncing off the walls after giving same dosage. I question the pharmacist who told me "it's just what they send us" and "it's the same drug". I disagree. Any info or comments? ## Hello Susan, Both of you are correct. The different manufacturers sell a drug that has the same quality and dosage of the same active ingredient as your pharmacist says, however, this does not mean that all of the inactive igredients are the same between the pills. The inactive ingredients in the medicine is just as important and im...

white triangler shaped, pliva 441 on one side and 50 on the other ## It should actually have 50 50 50 on the opposite side, because it is a 150mg tablet and each 50 section provides a spot to easily divide the dose, if necessary. Trazadone is an antidepressant, generic for Desyrel. Some of the most common side effects include: drowsiness, dry mouth, headache and priapism.

I've been using Zydrus brand for years at bedtime 1 pill. CVS gave me Teva, as per pharmacist this is only brand they carry bc of volume pricing. No more special orders, as corporate will not allow it. My other drugs i.e. alprazolam same story. Has anyone used Teva that has switched from other brands? CVS is no longer customer friendly!!!! They are my in network pharmacy. I'm screwed. ## They no longer carry Teva generic Adderall . They haven’t a few years Each location has only what is stored ## Thanks for your reply. However, it was Teva Trazodone that I was inquiring about. How effective is it compared to other generic brands. I was using Zydus. ## As with any medication, it works well for some people, but not for everyone. The only way to find out how it works for you ...

Following an ECG, my psychiatrist has reduced my trazodone ( which I have been taking for many years for depression and anxiety ) I have gone from 300mg/day to 250mg/day, then after a week from 250mg/day to 200mg/day. That is as much as I have to reduce it. I am one week in and my mood has dropped low and my anxiety and binge eating is worse. Is this possible? ## Yes, according to NIH reports, it is normal to experience some withdrawal effects, they could also include nausea, fever, chills, and rebound depression. However, things should improve, after a week, or so, once your body adjusts to the new dosage. How are you doing now? Has there been any change? ## No, no change as yet, I am still feeling overwhelmed and anxious.

My doctor just suggested since my trazodone isn't working anymore and causing weird dreams to nightmares that I try melatonin. I don't know much about melatonin and if it works. I have no idea on what dosage I should try and if it interacts with any of my other meds. ## Hello, Sunshine! How are you? The dosage is generally anywhere from 1 to 3mgs a night, so if your doctor approves, you may want to start low and see what works for you. What other medications do you take? If you can post back with this information, I can check for interactions or problems for you. I am allergic to sulfa and was prescribed this as a sleep aid. I do not trust my doctor as I am also allergic to morphine and was given a drug containing that. ## Hello, Kait! How are you? No, Trazodone is the active ingredient and it is not sulfa related. However, that does not mean that you may not also be allergic to Trazodone. When someone is allergic to other medications, there is a greater risk that they will be allergic to more. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weigh changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is it safe to take Trazodone and Norco together at bedtime? I'm prescribed both and both say "1 at bedtime", but I'm very paranoid about mixing meds. I've had doctors mess up and overdose me. ## Taking them together may cause you to experience more side effects than usual, according to FDA reports, which may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, and problems with concentrating. Thus, they can be taken together, if your doctor has prescribed them both, but they should be monitoring you regularly to watch for any problems. What doses have been prescribed? My pharmacy changed manufacturers of trazodone from Apo T150 to Qualitest brand. First problem is that it doesn't work. It took 3 hours to finally doze off, and 30 minutes later I woke up thinking I was choking, but actually had severe dry mouth and after 1/2 bottle of water it is getting a little better. Is this manufacturer change due to Medicare changes, or pharmacy (Walgreens) changes? Thank you for any information you can provide. ## Hi Charlotte, I been taking trazodone for many years and I live here in ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI.
