I took Trazodone 50 for only 4 days. Doc and pharmacist said not to take it with my Trepaline. Stopped Trepaine cold turkey after 10 years.Trazodine was for pain relief for FM. Without Trepaline my muscle spasms went into overdrive. Worse pain than before! My whole pain protocol was stuffed. I had severe occipital headaches, giddy and drowsy and a panicked feeling, muscle pains, stomach aches, nausea, dry mouth, blurrex vision and diarrhea. I threw Trazodone in bin. What is in trazodone? Is it minerals, plant derivatives, or synthesized chemicals? If so, what minerals, derivatives, or chemicals go into it? ## Interesting that there were no answers. I also want to know. ## Here's what I found so far: "Trazodone hydrochloride was originally synthesized in 1966 by Palazzo and Silvestrini in the chemical laboratories of the firm Francesco Angelini. The molecule consists of a triazolopyridine ring and a phenyl piperazinylalkyi moiety. It is the first trazolopyridine derivative to be used clinically, and therefore, represents a new chemical class of antidepressant drugs. its development was a result of an organized approach rather than fortuitous discovery and was based on the hypothesis that the mechanisms responsible for physical and mental pain...

I'm taking 50 mg trazodone for insomnia. Some nights I have a lot of hip pain. Could I also take an Excedrin pm? ## It is generally best not to combine the 2, unless your doctor instructs otherwise, since the Excedrin PM also contains a medication to help induce sleep, according to the FDA. Taking them together could cause you to experience too much sedation, which may result in respiratory distress, or respiratory failure. Are you on any other medications?

I would like to know If It would be safe to take trazodone and percocet together? I hope I spelled the name of the first medication right. ## Trazodone, the active ingredient in Desyrel is an SSRI class antidepressant. Percocet contains Oxycodone and Acetaminophen. When taken together, the person should be closely monitored and the dosage should be carefully adjusted, because this combination has been known to cause Serotonin Syndrome. ## Can you take Percocet and trazodone together? I take norco and trazodone at bedtime for back pain & insomnia. Now my doctor prescribed gabapentin for the nerve pain in my feet. Can I take them all at the same? ## Generally, it is advised that Gabapentin and Norco not be taken together, according to the NIH, because Gabapentin can increase the toxicity of the Hydrocodone in Norco. Otherwise, for you safety, it is said that your doctor should reduce your dose of Hydrocodone by 20 to 30%. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Gabapentin as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have been on norco 10-325 2-3x/day for about 3 yrs and gabapentin 800 4x/day (gradual dose increase over past 2 yrs).
