My boyfriend was given tramadol and tested positive for opiates. Is this possible and why? Then he was given the medication forcibly by medical staff where he is located. Can this cause for him to act intoxicated and/or high? ## Tramadol will NOT show up as an opiate. If it was an opiate it would be a controlled substance for all states.
