Tramadol Refill

I got a script of 50 tramadol on the 21st of April. When is a good time to get it refilled? I was to take one to two 3 times a day. ## Refill depends on the NUMBER OF TABLETS your original script called for divided by six. That's the number of days coverage you have beginning on April 21st. ## It can also depend on how the prescription was written. If it to be taken on an as needed basis, then your doctor may expect it to last longer than the division would imply. However, this is a controlled substance, since the FDA classifies it as an opioid, so your pharmacy won't let you get it filled too early. It is warned that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth. Is there anything else I ca...

I filled a prescription on April 21st 2017 that said "must last 30 days". So starting on the 21st of April and counting 30 days, my 30th day seems to be on the 20th of May. Is this correct? ## Yes, you are correct, your pharmacy should be able to alert you, when you are due for a refill. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

How long should my prescription of tramadol last? Doctors instructions are take 1 to 2 every 6 hours as needed. ## It would depend on how many tablets it's written for. Generally when it is 1-2 every 6 hrs as needed, they calculate it by 2 tablets 4 times a day which is 8 tablets a day max. Divide the number of tablets it was written for by 8 and you will have how long it should last. If you're only taking 1 tablet every 6 hrs that would be 4 tablets in a 24 hr period.

I am prescribed tramadol every 4-6 hours, 1 tablet or as needed. I do take what I am asked plus an extra if needed because of my back pain. I'm currently on my last 3 and am prescribed 60. Is this a 30 day supply and am I able to get refilled? I just need to know so I can know whether or not to ask for another refill or not if I should wait until the 9th of next month or not? ## Glittergirl, First of all your tramadol is a prn order, meaning to be taken ONLY WHEN NEEDED, NOT AROUND THE CLOCK DOSING. Your labeling instructions are ambiguous. A BID order of 60 should last 30 days. This rx like others can be habit forming so doctors prescribe them with a degree of caution. You should only take direction from your prescribing professional or a RPh if unavailable. This class of drugs has...

Yesterday I found out from my doctor that I will no longer be able to get refills on the only drug that I have found that works to relieve arthritis pain that has no side affects for me. I am in the process of composing a letter my congressman to express my displeasure with the DEA's decision to make Tramadol a controlled substance with no expectations of anything but lip service in response. It seems to me that the government agency that is in charge of keeping illegal drugs from entering our country and apparently can't make a dent in that, has chosen a lot easier target, older Americans with Arthritis . I encourage everyone that is in the same situation as I am to contact your congressional representatives and demand that they reel in a agency that seems to think that everyth...

I live in Memphis and am suffering from chronic pain from c1 and c2 in my neck and the trap area in my shoulder. My collarbone often feels like it is broken. I have dealt with this pain on a chronic and severe level since 2007. I have had no insurance for most of my adult life but my husband was recently accepted as a senior scientist at St Jude Children's Research Hospital.the pain recently got so bad that I had to go to the emergency room even without insurance they gave me dilaudid to relieve the pain as well zofran which helps relieve nausea. I left the ER with a prescription of tramadol immediately made all pain go away. Unfortunately I was only given a very limited quantity and was hoping that I could make a visit to my regular doctor so that I could get a refill she looked at...

It is a precarious time for anybody who has been obtaining Tramadol over the internet. I've already read some of the other threads on here where a number of patients are suffering because they are unable to obtain a refill on their prescriptions. If you are unable to get your prescription filled then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND working with your doctor to taper down since the last thing which you want is to go through any major withdrawals! At the same time I DO NOT RECOMMEND switching to a narcotic pain killer such as Oxycodone since you will find the physiological dependence can be WORSE than Tramadol. Can anyone speculate the reasons with me? I suspect that many of the illegal suppliers are being stopped and as a knee jerk reaction I speculate that perhaps the DEA / FDA have started impos...

im asking cause the pharmacy i used made mistakes before i just want to make sure ## Hi Marilyn, How are you? I don't know how all doctors do this, but from my experience.. if the Dr. does allow refills, you'd normally find a date written on the prescription label with a check mark or intitials next to "refills". Sometimes you'll also see on the label that it says "30 day supply" (at which point you'd be out of your medication), depending on how many tablets your doctor instructed you to take within a 24hr period. I hope this helps! ## If you have 180 tramadol (50 mg pills), you can get a refill in 22 days. So, you could probably request the refill about 19 or 20 days after you have received your medication. That's the soonest you could get it. Hope t...

What is the color for 37.5-325? ## My Mother (Yes, it's Mother's Day) was taking Tramadol APAP, 37.5 mg, for many months with apparently good results. However, a refill came back with a different colored and shaped tablet and has caused her nausea. The original one was an oval, orange tablet with 083 embossed on one side and the letters KALI on the other. Does anyone know where to find this particular brand of Tramadol? Thank you, for my Mom. ## That is because you were given a different version of this drug in generic form with a different manufacturer. I would call the pharmacy that dispensed you the orange colored tablets and ask them which manufacturer made it, and if they can order it for her for the refills, since the other is giving her unnecessary side effects. Happy Mot...

I hava a presciption of tramadol thats looks diffrent than my others it has 319 inprint and my others have an an627 why are they different? ## Because they were manufactured by a different company. Tramadol is a generic medication, so there are several companies that manufacture it and, under federal law, each company has to use a unique imprint for their product that will enable its active ingredient, dosage and the manufacturer to be identified, in case of emergency. Many pharmacies will order from whichever company is offering the cheapest supply, at the time they have to restock their shelves, so it isn't unusual to receive pills that have a different marking, when you go in for a refill or to get a new prescription filled. The pill you received, however, is a 50mg Tramadol tabl...

I have a prescription for hydrocodone 'take one every 8 hours as needed' qty 60. Got them to take instead of tramadol when I'm in a lot of pain. Last week & 1/2, I've been having major pain and the dr said I could take them every 6 hours til we get worked through this. So, I'm sure I'll run out, as I'm already getting low, before the monthly refill of all my meds. Since this is only a qty of 60, how soon can I get it refilled, as the dr. told me to try that first but if they wouldn't let me, he'd write a new script. ## Since this is a controlled substance, due to the Hydrocodone in it, which is a narcotic, the pharmacy can't legally fill it for you, until it is actually due for a refill. Federal law prohibits them from doing so. They may fill ...

I am taking the tramadol tablet with 58 on one side & TV on the other. I've been taking tramadol for about 4 months. I picked up a refill today and the difference is this group of tramadol is bigger than my normal prescription. By the way, I went to a new pharmacy, but that shouldn't matter right? ## Yes, Teva Pharmaceuticals list this tablet as containing 50mgs of Tramadol. Variations in size can occur due to the use of different inactive ingredients. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. How is it working for you, so far?

I have a prescription for Tramadol (45 pills). I'm supposed to take one every 8 hours. When do I need to get a refill? ## How was the prescription written? If it was written directing you take one every 8 hours, then 45 pills would last for 15 days. However, if it was written to be taken as needed, your doctor might expect it to last longer. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. ## I have a script for tramadol 50 mg and have been advised to take 1 tab every 6 hours. The quantity I'm prescribed is 70 tablets. How long will this script last?

What is the normal dose for tramadol hcl 50mg? I am taking utter prn tid for severe back pain. I have taken 75mg before I got relief. ## Tramadol became a Schedule IV August 18, 2014. Under Federal Law, a dr can write refills and can call it in. There are no restrictions on how often you must see your dr. But, your dr can have you come in as often as he wants and he doesn't have to give refills or call it in. ## The interesting thing about Tramadol is the fiasco of its creation. LOL Originally, the intent was to try to create a medication that would have the pain relieving properties of opiates, without having the addictive tendencies, and all the side effects, however, what they ended up with is a mild pain reliever that can still be habit forming, and is only a moderate level anal...

I've been on 100 mg of tramadol 2x per day for a little over 1 month this time. I'm having s horrible time detoxing c/t although I've tried many times. After 2 times with refills my gp refuses another script. My neurologist recently prescribed Amitriptyline 50 mg per night for sleep and pain. My question is can the amitriptyline help with horrible day 2 withdrawal I'm experiencing? I never want to see tramadol again b/c of the sickening control I gave it over my life. Told husband at least my head and neck pain let me feel normal instead of some side show. If anyone has experience bei.g on amitriptyline while detcing from tramadol will you please help? I have been on Percocet 5/325 for last 3 months- saw spine specialist today who renewed my presc. but cannot get for 3 days. I have some Tramadol 37.5-325. Will that help me get through until I get my refill? ## Yes the tramadol should help you if you are worried about withdrawal symptoms. I have taken them i n the past and they stopped me from going thru withdrawals. I hope this helps you.

I broke my seismoid bone in my foot Saturday day bprescribed that will have to heal on its own. Dr gave me Tramadol hcl 50mg #30. To take every four hours. I wore a support/walking boot until work on Friday and Saturday this past week. Due to safety I was unable to wear it to work waiting tables for 5 and 7 hours shifts. Both my feet were very sore after. I think bc my good foot compensated for the bad. I just ran out yesterday and only took as prescribed. I did get a refill tonight after trying tylenol and motrin with no relief. I wasn't concerned until I read some posts about it having withdrawal affects. I did start having light nausea and body aches begin last night and have worsened some today. I assumed I might be getting the flu since my three year old has been battling prett...

I'm back 2 square 1 again! My PCP won't refill my Tramadol Rx since it changed drug classifications & I don't know what I'm going 2 do! I already asked my Pain Dr...he won't refill my Tramadol Rx! I don't know where 2 go from here? I was on Dilaudid 4 my Pain 1 1/2yrs ago for my pain & now. I'm on Tramadol. It's really helping my pain, it's not Fentynol or Oxytocin..for God's sake, it's on the lowest end of the spectrum & shouldn't even BE in the same class of drugs! I have been taking 100 mg of tramadol twice daily for a bit over a month. I have tried numerous times to wean off the medication but am having a hard time. Now my GP doc will not refill the prescription after 2 refills. I have recently been prescribed Amitriptyline 50 mg per night to help with sleep and pain by my neurologist. I'd like to know whether amitriptyline might help with horrible withdrawal I'm experiencing in day 2? I will never take Tramadol again because of how dependent my body got on it. I told husband that dealing with my head and neck pain is better than my experience with Tramadol. Does anyone have experience taking Amitriptyline to detoxify from the Tramadol? ## It may be beneficial for you to take an antidepressant, at least for a few weeks, to help the withd...
