How can I maximize the effectiveness of this medication? It does not always work as prescribed but my doctor does not want to change my medication at this time. ## I find that taking a 50mg Tab with a 500 mg Tylenol on an empty stomach works best. Drink lots of water! Eat about two hours after. Works well with a 4mg Tizanidine (muscle relaxer too). Sometimes I split the tab to 25mg w/2 Tylenol as a trade off. If it's for pain, can 2 tabs be taken? ## Can 2 tablets be taken of Tramad/apap? Thank you ## I would not recommend it, not only should you not take more of anything than prescribed, if it isn't helping with what it is supposed to, then you should speak to your doctor, but this can also be very bad on your stomach. APAP is just pharmaceutical speak for Acetaminophen and taking too much of that in a day can be fatal. ## What are the side effects? ## I was prescribed Eramd/APAP for headaches by my Neurologist. A few days later I broke out with Erythema muliform rash. It started on my arms and due to intense itching and my scracthing spread all over my body. I was unable to eat, sleep or do anything. I am 70 years old and have taken the following 3 medications for the past 4 years, hydrocodone/acetaminophen 10-325 T(1 tablet 4 times daily), Tramadol 50MG tablet(1 tab 4 times daily), Fentanyl patch 75 mh (change patch every 3 days). Jan 2017 my insurance stop paying for the Tramadol and hydrocodone unless I went through a pain clinic, I did go to a pain clinic. The pain clinic refused to prescribe both Tramadol and hydrocodone indicating a new law that will not allow it. The new opioid regulation indicates this level is to be monitored and know and understand the symptoms they are prescribed for, but the pain clinic indicate this level is above the limit and I do not need it. I have suffered from juvenile RA since I was 4 years old then degenerative rheumatoid arthritis my entire life,

I have some pills that are little white round and don't have no imprint expose to be tramadol ## Hello, Ray! How are you? If they have no imprint, they are most likely just some type of over the counter product. All U.S. prescription tablets are required to have imprints to enable their identification, in case of emergency. The imprint enables someone to discover what medication they contain, the dosage and what pharmaceutical company manufactured them. Only over the counter products are not required to have imprints. The FDA lists Tramadol as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I'm not sure which over the counter product this is, because there are m...

I am a 20 year chronic pain sufferer who every 3 years or so has to detox off 180-240 mg Oxycodone to lower tolerance. Then I start back on 4-6 Percocet a day and gradually increase dosage as needed. I have just completed one of these detoxes using the "Thomas Recipe" - Now, to control the pain again...a friend gave me a few 37.5 mg Tramadol and at the moment I take 2 at a time so 75 mg once a day and find that they elevate my mood quite effectively as well as kill the pain...So I want to know which drug is worse for your liver and brain cells...Tramadol or Percocet? ## As a medical provider my first question to you , would be are you being followed by a pain management doctor. Secondly with the level of Percocet you are taking I would say you have a serious problem . Then do de...

from everyone's experience, what is Tramadol's effectiveness as a pain killer ? ## Well, when I tried it several years ago, all it did was make me sick. It didn't do anything for my pain. There are some people who seem to have good results with it, but different meds work for different people. Anyone else who has used this medication, please post your experience with it. ## I use Tramadol for lower back pains from several auto accidents and it works really well for me. ## It does not work for me at my prescribed dosage. The max. recomended dosage is no more than 400 mg a day. I find myself having to take up to 600 mg on a bad day. ## Then rather than take more, you need to discuss the issue with your doctor to explore other treatment options. ## Get emergency medical help if...

I have read several posts that mention the risk of seizures related to stopping Tramadol. Could anyone give me more information about this? Any additional information on withdrawal symptoms would be also appreciated as well as the symptoms and risks of being on very high dosages. ( I have seen mention about "Serotonin Syndrome" related to Tramadol - what is that and what are the symptoms?) Thanks in advance for all info !! ## In most cases, for the risk of seizures to be present, someone would have to be taking high doses for a long period of time and then just stop taking it abruptly, so they go into full withdrawal. i used to take 2 tramadol a day 50 mg. now my doctor has me on sertraline 100 mg a day, ativan, 1 mg 2x a day, can i take a tramadol for pain, i've took it with sertraline before, no effects, i have fibromyalgia and i need something for pain. ## Hello, Yellowrose! How are you? It is best not take the Tramadol along with the Sertraline, unless your doctor approves. Both of them can increase the levels of serotonin in your body, which could cause serotonin syndrome and that has, in some cases, been fatal. The FDA classifies Tramadol as an opioid, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have a pill that has 37.5-325 mg on it. So when it says not to exceed more than 300mg are they referring to the 37.5mg side? ## No it's more for the APAP (aka acetaminiphen as taking more than 975mg every 4 hours or so will absolutely rot the crap outta your stomach lining and damage your liver considerably. Try and get it without the APAP, as the real reason they putit in the Tramadol is a) help it's distribution into the bloodstream which is one thing APAP is known for and then to B) To try and keep junkies from wanting to abuse it for the same reason as a) above. Hope this helps you. Jah Love. Selah ## Acetaminophen can actually be a very dangerous drug, the daily limit for it is just 4grams (4000mgs). The 300mgs in this case, does refer to the Tramadol.

I've been taking Tramadol for 14 years and I messed up my dosage by a few days so I thought I was going to be out of Tramadol for this weekend, so I was given 2 suboxone 8mg strips and was told it would help. Well, I was wrong and I just miscounted my pills. I found them but I already took the 2 strips. I want to take my Tramadol but I am scared that I'm going to get sicker than I already am right now. I never should've taken that darn suboxone, but I've never taken it before today so I'm hoping it'll be out of my system faster! Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?? Thank you in advance!! :/ ## Hello, Sickone! How are you? Yes, I'm sorry, but whoever told you that the Suboxone would help was misinformed. One of its active ingredients is Naloxone, which neut...

My brother passed away two years ago from a Tramadol overdose. He had a 15mg of Tramadol per ltr. of blood. He weighed about 205 lbs and was about 6 feet tall. Is there any way to determine how many Ultram ER 100 pills he would have had to take to reach this level? A guess or estimate of a range would be helpful. ## Hi Bob I am very sorry to hear about your brother. The average human body contains between 5 and 6 liters of blood, so if we assume that your brother had 5.5 liters of blood in his body then that would equal out to approx 82.5mg of Tramadol. That actually does not sound outside the normal range based on a 100mg extended release dosage. Are you sure it was 15mg per liter? I also hope that I did not make a mistake with my calculations. Could it also be that he had a bad reacti...
