Tramadol Butrans

Hi, last year in December I overdosed on 100 50mg capsules of tramadol, this was intensional but I was found and I was rushed to the hospital on a blue light, one route I had three seizures and the emergency team was unsure if I would survive, the reason I tried to take my life was I had been in a large amount of pain due to spinal stenosis, for the pain I was taking tramadol 2 x 50mg 4 x a day, 5 ml of oramorph 4 times a day, 2 x co codamol 500/30 4 x a day 50 mg Amitriptaline once a day and I had 10 mg butrans patches, even though I was on this amount of meds I was still in considerable amount of pain and I had enough. I've been on the Butrans patches now for 2 months. I started on 5mg & now I'm on 20mg. I also have Amitriptyline 10mg per day which eventually will go up to 50mg... I also have Tramadol when needed... I was put on Gabapentin but they made me too dopey & they was not good for my Epilepsy either. I felt really ill off them. I suffer from nerve pain as well as stiffness and the Butrans helps with the stiffness; they don't take the major pain away but they do help... I just wish I could stop itching, it's driving me nuts. I have been on 15 mcgs patches for 5 weeks and they don't seem to work anymore. I have a vascular leg ulcer which is taking ages to heal but the breakthrough pain is horrendous. I'm getting no sleep at all. My GP took me off tramadol and codeine to try these but the pain is unbearable. I've tried cocodamol (over the counter dosage) and naproxen but it doesn't help at all. ## Unfortunately, this medication does not work for everyone to alleviate pain. The U.S. FDA does warn that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Greetings. I am a 67 year old woman destroyed by auto immune disorders that required prednisone that destroyed me further. I had 8 surgeries in 1.5 years which left me very handicapped and I have RA and osteoporosis. Constant pain and limited abilities. Worst of all is pain in my hands, limiting the crafts that would keep me happy. Constant intense pain which I have been on Tramadol for. Now a pain management center has started me on Butrans 5. And I am afraid. Because of my auto immune conditions there’s not a side effect my body doesn’t love to grasp. I never read the inserts that come with a med, because I don’t want to know. I was wondering what would taking 36 tramadol do to me? ## If you take that many your worries wont be about dying, but the condition you are left in if you live. ## I think Budro covered it, kind of blunt, but the relevant points are there. Yes, there is the possibility of it being fatal. And if it's not fatal, you could still end up doing serious damage to your organs and suffering the repercussions of that. I am currently prescribed Belbuca 150 mcg/every 6 hrs. with Tramadol 50 mg. for break-through pain due to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome/Chiari Malformation/Degenerative Disc Disease. My PCP does random urine screens (unannounced) periodically. Last February I had to stop the Butrans Patch due to severe skin blistering/chemical type burns caused by the patch medium, hence the change to Belbuca. I am also prescribed Movantik for OIC and take it as prescribed every morning.
