I've been on 100 mg of methadone for 3 years. I'm on day 3 of NO METHADONE! Can I take tramadol to help With withdraw ## How are you feeling? Has your doctor instructed you to take Tramadol to help? It's a very mild opioid, so it isn't like to help much to alleviate Methadone withdrawals. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. is 50mg tramadol as effective as 10mg methadone ## best tramadol ## @mark, According to a double-blind clinical trial, Tramadol was reported to be more efficacious in managing the symptoms of opioid withdrawal (and with fewer side effects) than Methadone. This study is based on a 450 mg/day dose of Tramadol in comparison to a 15mg/day dose of Methadone. So if you ask me, my thoughts are that 50mgs of Tramadol wouldn't have results that are as significant as what was displayed in the clinical trials, since that would only amount to 200-300mgs a day (when taken every 4-6 hours) as opposed to 450mg/day. Results will probably also depend on each individuals tolerance to pain meds as well as body chemistry and several other underlying factors. I'd encourage you to talk with your doct...

Hi folks, im jay from good old london in uk. I got a question and a sort of discussion too. I just did a 7 month detox from 20 mg to 0 at the ratio reduction of 2 mgs per month, started in jan this year, finished mid july last month. So i went from 20 for a month to 18 for a month, 16, 14, 12, 10, so on until bang i hit zero. Even though i hated my doc at the time i have to applaud him now, but, and here it comes, i still take 3 different benzos once every 2 weeks. Well, they're diazepam again yes, 10mg x8 + klonopin 2mg x15 + tramadol 50mg x8, which i believe is a painkiller. Anyway despite also being on 40 mls of methadone liquid daily i barely sleep.
