I smoke but do not drink alcohol, no illegal drugs & always good health with perfect blood pressure. Fractured Sacrum with multiple pain issues. Taking 200mg Tramadol 3 x's in a 15 hr day with 0 side effects. Started taking 30mg Elavil in pm, makes me very drowsy. My Tramadol also changed from white tablets to yellow/green capsule. My heart has started to feel weird, with some pain (scary). Blood pressure still good. What's going on ? Cld my medications be damaging my health? My pain from injury prevents sitting or standing YET i was Denied Disability. Tramadol has allowed me to continue working. ## Yes, they could be damaging your health, that is always a risk associated with any medication. While they can be of great benefit, they also have the potential to do great harm. ...

I can't seem to find anywhere that states whether Tamol-xx 200mg (Tramadol HCL) is extended-release or immediate-release. The package doesn't mention anything. There happens to be two colors, one red and one white. Mine are red. I'd love to know if what I have is ER or IR. Anyone know?

prescribed 200mg tramadol modified release, twice daily. Is it safe to take paracetamol as well for breakthrough pain ? ## You should ask your doctor, or pharmacist to be certain, but unless they instruct you otherwise, there shouldn't be a problem. There is even a formulation on the market in most countries that couples the Tramadol with the Paracetamol, for better pain control. In the U.S. it is sold under the brand name Ultracet. Is there anything else I can help with?

I take 100 to 200mg of Tramadol per day for pain. I'm having a hysterectomy and will not be able to take it for at least 2 weeks prior to the procedure. I will not be able to function at work without it. What can I take in its place? ## Hello, Cydque! How are you? You really need to check with your doctor on this. It would be remiss of anyone online to try to suggest a medication, without knowing the details of your medical history and etc. Good luck with the surgery! Is there anything else I can help with?

just what to know my kid had some,so i want to be sure if thats what he had thanks. ## Tramadol is actually a generic for Ultram, so there are quite a few on the market, all made by different manufacturers. This means they all have different markings, depending on the manufacturer and dosage, so there is no way I could list them all here. If you can post back with more details, such as the markings on the pills he has, I will gladly check it for you. Here are just a few examples of Tramadol and the markings on the tablets, all of these are white, round tablets: AN 627 50mgs Cor 127 50mgs M T7 50mgs PAR 821 100mgs PAR 822 200mgs PP 100 100mgs and there are many others, some are in other shapes and colors, as well, plus there are generics for Ultracet, which contains the Tramadol, with Ac...

RAN OUT OF HYDROCOAPAP TAB 10-325MG, BUT HAVE TRAMADOL 50 MG, CAN I SUBSTITUTE?? ## Have you consulted your doctor? The Hydrocodone is a potent narcotic and the Tramadol is very mild, though it is distantly related, so you aren't likely to get the same effective pain relief that you do from the Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen tablet. ## If you are worried about your withdrawls, then yes you can. The max dose in 24 hours is 400mg. That's 8 pills. I did the same thing and took 200mg in the morning and 150 at night just to be safe. It will hold back the withdrawls and you will sleep comfortably. However, because its not an opiate, they will not "F" you up. You will not get HIGH from these. They do however trap seratonin for longer periods of time in your brain which for most peop...

You can learn more about them here: Have you consulted a doctor to get help? ## I think the answer is not correct. T-dol 200 is tramadol hydrochloride and it is an alkaloid pain killer , which when taken for a long time you will get used to it an dyou should take more and more to...

I took hydrocodone about 4 hours ago and I have some old tramadol. I have such a bad headache. Will it be OK to take this tramadol? ## You can do so, as long as your doctor approves, but you should be aware that these opioids can cause headaches as a side effect, according to the FDA and the NIH. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I've read a lot about seizure risks and such when mixing the two, but no one ever talks about doses in those posts and I'm looking to stay safe. Would (1) 5mg hydrocodone and (1) 200mg tramadol be safe and okay? I have no tolerance to opiates. I currently have a cough so bad it's giving me intense migraines every day and I'm kinda in the boat as finals m...

I we recently put on an antidepressant called Brintellix 10mg. However i have been on tramadol 50mg 2x a day for over 2 years and 300mg gabapentin 3x a day for 2 years. As well as norco 7.5 3x day. I've only been on brintellix a week and nervous that maybe that's too much serotonin medicine. Does that make sense? ## Yes, it does make sense and it is a possible risk. Serotonin syndrome can be very dangerous. Have you had any other symptoms aside from the tiredness? The main concern is the Tramadol with the Brintellilx, mixing them does carry a strong warning about the possible dangers and advises that alternative medications be used. ## I take similar meds as you. Been on Brintellix 10 mg a few weeks, also 100 mg Zoloft (down from 200mg). I stopped tapering off Zoloft because I f...

Is Tamol-xx 200mg (Tramadol Hcl) a long-acting drug? ## From what I can find, yes it is listed as being a time released formulation of Tramadol. Has this been prescribed for you? ## I'd like some clarity: Tamol XX tablets are white, whereas Tramadol X 200 mg tablets are pink coloured. Does anyone know why and what the different colours indicate? Maybe different applications? ## The only drug I take is Tamol-xx for pain. I had an emergency and while at the hospital I had lab work done and it came back positive for pcp. Why are these drugs manufactured using a street drug?

I have been taking Hydrocodone 7.5/325 Lyrica 100mg and Tramadol 200mg ER for about 10 yrs. I have noticed a slow but steady decline in my libido, my energy, and general enjoyment of life. I tried quitting the hydrocodone and felt so terrible for 2 months, I had to get back on them. How does one quit these drugs and what drug is mainly causing the problem? The hydros? ## Hello, Vern! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems that you're having. It's difficult to say, it could be due to any of them, or the combination of all of them. However, if I had to make a guess, I'd assume that the Lyrica was the most likely culprit. Those are all known side effects of it that tend to occur the longer someone is on it. The FDA lists other potential side effects of it as possibl...

I took 200mg codeine in cough syrup and usual .5 mg of xanax at 830. 2 hours later I had a splitting headache and took 50mg of tramadol. I'm slightly concerned because of brochitis and respiratory issues I've read about. Is this safe? ## Hello, It appears that your question has already been addressed in another thread of yours. Here is the link to the thread with the information: Discuss/Codiene-xanax-and-ultram-242483.htm I hope this helps!

I'm slightly concerned because of brochitis and respiratory issues I've read about. Is this safe? ## My findings state that there are in fact potentially unsafe interactions that apply to all three of those medications. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: Applies to: Codeine, Ultram (tramadol) "Ask your doctor before using Codeine and Tramadol together. Using these medications together can increase your risk of seizures, breathing problems, and other side effects. If your doctor prescribes these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely take both medications. Tell your doctor if you...

Im on quetiapine MR 700mgs a day i also take sertraline 100mgs a day , tramadol 200mgs daily , depakote 1000mgs daily, and zolpidem 10mgs at night , my doctor is thinking about putting me on mirtazapine 45mgs daily i wanted to know if this is safe with all my other meds i have mentioned ? ## Many of the medications you've listed can affect serotonin levels, so adding another one creates the risk of your developing serotonin syndrome, which can be dangerous. It's not that they can't be combined, but it must be done very carefully, with the doses taken under careful consideration and the patient being regularly monitored. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Mirtazapine as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight gain. Are you seei...

I'm currently taking 100mg of oxycodoe a day (20mg via percocet and 80mg via oxycontin) as well as 200mg daily of tramadol. I'm taking these as prescribed for chronic pain. My concern is, that after almost 2 years of being on these pain meds with the dosage increasing as my tolerance builds over time, if the Dr's are able to fix what is causing my pain, are there meds that will help ween me off the oxy? I'm terrified of the withdrawls. My second concern is, if they can't fix what is wrong, are there alternative meds for the pain? I can't imagine increasing the doses forever. Any advice would be appreciated. ## Yes, if they can fix the problem that is causing your pain, the medications can be slowly tapered to minimize the withdrawal effects, or your doctors may w...
