If it's for pain, can 2 tabs be taken? ## Can 2 tablets be taken of Tramad/apap? Thank you ## I would not recommend it, not only should you not take more of anything than prescribed, if it isn't helping with what it is supposed to, then you should speak to your doctor, but this can also be very bad on your stomach. APAP is just pharmaceutical speak for Acetaminophen and taking too much of that in a day can be fatal. ## What are the side effects? ## I was prescribed Eramd/APAP for headaches by my Neurologist. A few days later I broke out with Erythema muliform rash. It started on my arms and due to intense itching and my scracthing spread all over my body. I was unable to eat, sleep or do anything. Finally after 4 days seen another MD who told me to stop the medication because I ...

## is Tremadol hcl/apap an opiod angenstic? ## No, Tramadol with Acetaminophen, the active ingredients in Ultracet is not an opiate narcotic, though it is derived from one and at one point it was classified as one. Learn more Ultracet details here. The classification was changed to place it under general centrally acting analgesics, when it was discovered that while it has the potential to he habit forming and can cause side effects similar to opiates, it doesn't alleviate pain as well as they do. This was actually the opposite of the desired effect, when this compound was being research and created they want to keep the potency of opiates for pain relief, but remove the negative side effects and addiction potential, so this one did a total flip. What is the color for 37.5-325? ## My Mother (Yes, it's Mother's Day) was taking Tramadol APAP, 37.5 mg, for many months with apparently good results. However, a refill came back with a different colored and shaped tablet and has caused her nausea. The original one was an oval, orange tablet with 083 embossed on one side and the letters KALI on the other. Does anyone know where to find this particular brand of Tramadol? Thank you, for my Mom. ## That is because you were given a different version of this drug in generic form with a different manufacturer. I would call the pharmacy that dispensed you the orange colored tablets and ask them which manufacturer made it, and if they can order it for her for the refills, since the other is giving her unnecessary side effects. Happy Mot...

I've been taking the Tramadol/APAP 325 with Acetaminophen for many years as I have Fibromyalgia. My doctor just changed it to Tramadol 50mg. Is that stronger? I'm feeling a bit dizzy or lightheaded now. ## Hello, Carolyn! How are you? Yes, the 50mg tablet is stronger, since the combination medication is only available with 37.5mgs of Tramadol and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you so much for the info. I was on the combo Tramadol for over 10 years. Hydro/apap does not help much for chronic pain. Would it be okay to take Tramadol and Hydro-- together? ## Hello, Weezy! How are you? Since both Tramadol and Hydrocodone are opiates, it would be best not to mix them, unless your doctor approves. They can cause depression of the central nervous system, so taking both could cause issues, such as problems breathing, lowered heart rate and lowered blood pressure. The FDA lists these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you talked to your doctor to let them know that it isn't relieving your pain?

A strong painkiller for back + arthri- tis pain as prescribed ? 9/8/05 ## First off, no, there is Tramadol with Apap, which is the generic for Ultracet, and then there is Tramadol by itself without the Acetaminophen, so no, they are not the same med. (I have Tramadol, Alieve and arthritis strength Tylenol on hand) ## Hello, Frances! How are you? Are you sure that it's sciatic? It's kind of funny, but given all of my knowledge of medications, side effects, and etc. I didn't know until recently, when my husband mentioned it, that sometimes the sacral area is thought to be related to the same area, and he was right. I have a pill that has 37.5-325 mg on it. So when it says not to exceed more than 300mg are they referring to the 37.5mg side? ## No it's more for the APAP (aka acetaminiphen as taking more than 975mg every 4 hours or so will absolutely rot the crap outta your stomach lining and damage your liver considerably. Try and get it without the APAP, as the real reason they putit in the Tramadol is a) help it's distribution into the bloodstream which is one thing APAP is known for and then to B) To try and keep junkies from wanting to abuse it for the same reason as a) above. Hope this helps you. Jah Love. Selah ## Acetaminophen can actually be a very dangerous drug, the daily limit for it is just 4grams (4000mgs). The 300mgs in this case, does refer to the Tramadol.

Now we know that it is Still, it is a nice, less ominous, alternative to narcotics. ## Hello, Shelby! How are you? In order of strength and efficacy… Tylenol 3 is the mildest you've listed, then Tramadol, and the strongest is the Hydrocodone/APAP. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
