Hello all......I have Ocular Toxoplasmosis that requires rather high Prednisone treatments. The last time I took it - 2013 - I had high blood pressure - 180/100. This is a scary side effect and I am very afraid that now that I have a recurrence of the Toxo and have had to start Pred again that the BP will shoot up. I've had a sore throath (inflamed gland) for 2 yrs. Now a doctor here (Panama) has found I have Toxoplasmosis (45 UI/mg). Could it be related to the sore throath? Also, she prescribed esperamicicinade. Is that the right medicine? ## Esperamacina is an antibiotic, it is used to treat various types of infections, including Toxoplasma Gondii, which is actually a parasitic infection, usually carried and spread by cats. It is more like that the ongoing sore throat and swollen glands are related to the toxoplasmosis, it can get worse if it isn't diagnosed and treated and will cause problems such as this. Side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, diarrhea and skin rash. Are there any other questions or comments?
