My wife was suffering from gum problems. Dr gave her Metrogyl gel to apply to her gums. Now Metrogyl contains Ornidazole. After application for a day she complained of stomach pain. Can application of Ornidazole inside the mouth cause stomach pains? ## Metrogyl actually contains the active ingredient Metronidazole, it's similar to, but not the same as Ornidazole. And yes, it could cause stomach pain and nausea, because even applied topically to her gums, she is still going to swallow a slight amount of it. Has she consulted her dentist? She may need to switch to something else. ## Thanks. Consulted another dentist, he has changed the medicines. Stopped Metrogyl Ointment. Thanks all the same. ## What is the proper way to apply Ornidazole gel? How many times can I use it in a day?

Have had back spasms and severe pain for awhile. All I have is regular naproxen which is doing nothing for my back. Would be interested in hearing how others have coped without opioids, and whether any recommendations can be made for finding reputable pain clinics and physicians who can still treat with oxycodone. ## I have serious severe pain all over my body from fibromyalgia, arthritis, and had a severe fall down cement stairs requiring surgery in 2015. I need a doctor who will prescribe me pain medication. It is too severe using just topical gel.. ## @Ulisa, Sorry to hear about your challenges with pain management. After hydroquinone is applied to face, how long is that ingredient active on the skin? Minutes/hours?c ## Even though human absorption of Hydroquinone upon topical application is less efficient than with oral administration, Hydroquinone elimination occurs rapidly, primarily via urine. It's half life can vary based on my research, but one trial concludes that: A review found that in "F344 rats", the blood elimination half-life of hydroquinone administered i.v. was 18.7 min and that with oral administration was 14.8 min. With i.p. administration to "B6C3F1 mice", the hydroquinone half-life was 9 min. As that study was done with rats, I did opt to look for other details, which indicated that the half life was 12 hours or roughly half a day, with it's peak plasma co...

Does anyone have info as to why this is no longer available from the manufacturer? I've been taking it with great success for the past year. All of a sudden no one has it and I'm being told its a manufacturer problem. It's the IP 78 light green pill. The pharmacy is no help. ## Hi Paula, From what I can gather, the medication has actually been discontinued by the manufacturer, so your pharmacy has no way to fill a prescription for it. The best advice I can offer is to speak with your doctor about finding an alternative. I understand how frustrating this must be for you. Please share with the community if you find an alternative that works! ## Thanks for the info. My doc and z local compound pharmacy are working to come up with a topical alternative. I picked up my vyvanse last night and ibuprofen someone stole my medicine will welfare replace them if I file a police report Deb ## Hi Deb, Sorry to hear about your medication being stolen. I did a bit of research on the matter and while I cannot speak for Welfare directly, information I'm finding on the topic of stolen meds suggests that you will have to file a police report for controlled substances such as Vyvanse, along with filing a request with your physician for an early refill. I believe you just need the patient's name, patient's ID number, medication(s) requested and police report handy in order to submit such a request. It is also important to note that some practices do not provide early refills at their discretion and may only offer a plan on how to manage the ...

Can this drug be used for a tooth & gum infection & what are the side effects for a man ## Hi jeff, Which medication or drug are you referring to? It does not appear that you posted the name of what your talking about in a specific forum or within your topic or description. If you could post back with this bit of info, I'd be more than happy to do some research on the indications and side effects of that particular drug. If you do have a tooth or gum infection, I would also suggest looking into getting some clove essential oil from your local health food store or online, and gargling or brushing your teeth with it for more immediate relief. I hope this helps!

I was given this by my dermatologist for poison ivy. So far it is not working. OTC anti-itch is helping. ## How long have you been using it? It is a steroid based cream, so it won't work instantly like some of the other topical ointments do. It will require a few days to start having an effect. Learn more Triamcinolone details here. However, many times, poison ivy will just clear up on its own, as long as you are careful not to scratch and dig at, so it spreads.

i am of 19 years old and i have minor acne problem and can i apply the inner gel of evion 400 capsules on the skin ## Evion is a vitamin E supplement and, while it is used for skin conditions, these ones are not meant to be used topically. For that much to be in those gelcaps, it is very concentrated and the oils they use might not be good for your skin, either. There are, however, many products on the market that contain Vitamin E in safe, topical formulations, so if you want to try it, I suggest you try one of those, so you don't risk irritating your skin and possibly making the acne worse, which some oils can do.
