I have had panic attacks for about 22 years. My first was when I was nine. I've been prescribed 2mg 4 times a day and my prescription hasn't run out but I'm having a hard time finding a doctor that I will prescribe benzos. I simply can't make the drive to the old doctor anymore because it's so far away and we totalled our truck. Can anyone please help? I've been on this dose for quite some time now and need a doctor asap before I run out. ## Two mg 4 times a day is a dose that many Doctors wouldn't feel comfortable prescribing. It is best if you deal with your problems without that amount. When you run out you will become very sick and suffer withdrawal issues ## What is the doctor that is prescribing that did you right now... I'm looking right now,I have... ...

very bad panic attacks have had a recent death in the family going through a divorce anxiety depression also have a chronic disease. ## Hello, Renee! How are you? There is no such thing as a Xanax doctor and there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. Technically, it can be prescribed by any licensed medical doctor, however, due to some new regulations that were put in place this year in order to try to cut down on improper prescribing and over prescribing, general practitioners and surgeons have new guidelines to follow regarding what they can prescribe. Thus, in most cases you'll need to see a specialist to be prescribed a medication such as this. Do you currently have PCP that could refer you to someone? ## My name... ...

live between knoxville and chattanooga need to find a doctor to prescribe xanax ---thank you for any help ## It can be prescribed by any doctor with a valid medical license, it does not require a specialist. The problem, however, generally arises when you go to a new doctor and start asking for or insisting on certain medications. It raises a lot of red flags for the doctors. Especially since Xanax, which contains Alprazolam is a very potent Benzodiazepine and is highly addictive in nature. Do you have your medical records? If you experience withdrawals, a local emergency treatment facility will be able to help you, but otherwise it's likely that you'll just have to wait until your doctor is open tomorrow.
