It does not always work as prescribed but my doctor does not want to change my medication at this time. ## I find that taking a 50mg Tab with a 500 mg Tylenol on an empty stomach works best. Drink lots of water! Eat about two hours after. Works well with a 4mg Tizanidine (muscle relaxer too). Sometimes I split the tab to 25mg w/2 Tylenol as a trade off. white oval pill with R180 on the front with four sections on the back ## Zanaflex (4 mg) muscle relaxant. I like them to help me relax and sleep, as I suffer from insomnia. They work better than Flexeril. ## Tammy's identification is correct, this is a 4mg Tizanidine tablet, which is the generic for Zanaflex. And yes, as a muscle relaxant, it may cause drowsiness as a side effect, along with nausea, dizziness and headache. Are there any other questions? You can learn more Zanaflex details here.

I have MS and my doctor gave me this, is this the best medicine? It doesn't seem to be working, It just helps me rest. ## Hello, Keekee! How are you? There is no one best medicine, what works can vary from person to person. The tablet in question is manufactured by Par Pharmaceutical and they list it as containing 4mgs of Tizanidine, which is a muscle relaxant that can help with the pain associated with strains, sprains and spasms. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. If it isn't working, you should discuss it with them to see what else you can try. I was prescribed amitriptyline for my back pain. I took one 4mg on Tues night at 9pm. I slept most of the 22nd. Maybe awake 3 hours out of that day, but was very confused! I woke up at noon on the 23rd. Is this drug too strong for me or is this normal? Could it be the combination of the two medications amitriptyline and tizanidine? I feel gittery, heart racing, confused and very tired! Please send any information that might help me understand this reaction to these drugs. ## I hope you are aware that this is NOT a pain reliever. This is an antidepressant that has helped some people with certain types of nerve pain, but it does not work like a regular pain reliever or a narcotic. As to sleeping, it is very hard to say, these do cause drowsiness, but not usually that bad. It sounds like y...

For verification, it's also reported to be manufactured by Par Pharmaceuticals. I hope this helps answer your question! Patty is right though about not ta...
