I really truly need someone's help...after many years of surgeries became addicted to narcotics. Now, I have been on suboxone for close to 6 years. I just can't keep doing this...I can't afford it anymore and I am sick of the Dr's. I have tried getting off before and wished for it to be all over! Is there anyone out there who has gotten off Suboxone? And do you have any tips or can tell me if it's possible to get off without going through hell? Thank you in advance ## I just posted almost the same question... I'm looking for advice that I don't already knw but I can tell u what has been helping me... Hello slit has been two days since taking my OXY IR's. I started my suboxone like two mgs and it is wonderful. I don't get any withdrawals and I sleep great. However I still have the craving for the IR. I am filling the script when I get the money but I did not want to go into withdrawals since I ran out. I plan to take them again next week or so but until then I just want to get past thinking about them. My question is my suboxone level to low or is thinking about getting them mentally a part of my brain used to having them? HELP PLEASE!!! ## Yes, it is normal to still think about wanting them, the Suboxone just helps prevent the physical symptoms of being without the drug, it doesn't fix the mental issues for you. However, you aren't going to be able to take the Oxycod...

Surely I'm not the only person reading in shock and disbelief. How is it that so many people are unaware of the basic facts and information regarding bup. I am reading in horror that woman are trying to detox during pregnancy. That is the worst option - it is risking both lives. I also read a question regarding the effectiveness of mixing bup with methadone. Anyone using these meds should know it causes withdrawals, that's the point of bup. I feel lucky to have drug treatment services that are free but able to stand along what is provided to private patients. It's horrible to think of pregnant woman on bup having to come on here to ask for info and not telling their dr in fear of judgement or welfare. What is up with a woman thinking its an option to detox at five mnths preg...

Does anyone have long term experience with Suboxone withdrawal? Mine is really dragging out mentally. It's going on 3 months and I am still shaky, agoraphobic and I feel "stuck." I feel like I'm on about day 5 of an alcohol withdrawal-over the hump but not quite there. It's taking so long & I've GOT to crawl up out of this hole! I'm so frustrated; I don't feel like "ME" ## @niele, Sorry to hear about the drawn out symptoms...I've actually heard rumor of patients still leveling out even 6 months after stopping Suboxone. So it seems to me like the withdrawals and just getting back to normal can possibly take quite a while for some individuals. Perhaps less time for others, depending on various factors. If you have a moment to spare though, I...

Hi there, this is for the people who are on methadone / or Suboxone. I've been on methadone for an opiate addiction, for a year now. My clean date is feb 2, 2015. At first, methadone was the best thing that had ever happened to me. I finally felt normal, and thought I was ready to get my life back on track. Well.. What a lie that was. I was at 75 mlgs of methadone from February 2015-August 2015, then started tapering off at 5 mlgs a week. I have a rapid metabolizer, so methadone never lasted longer than 10 hours in my system. Now I'm at 30 mlgs and I'm living in hell! I'm in constant withdrawal, body aches, sweating, hot /cold, emotional, aggressive... Etc. All I want is to feel normal again, but don't want to be tied on a leash to the methadone anymore! People say t...

what kind of withdrawals will i have when I stop taking Suboxone? ## Your doctor should help you taper gradually to avoid the worst of the withdrawal symptoms, however, it is an opiate, so you will experience withdrawal effects just like stopping any other narcotic if you stop abruptly. ## Gosh, I hope someone out there will see this post and answer your questions because I have just started the suboxone also and the doctor wants me to stay on them for a good while. What will it be like when I want to come off these pills?? I would like to know what to expect when he says no more cause they all do that...get you hooked then when they reel you in they cut the hook off and your stuck with the pain. ## It has been 6 months and im still a wreck. I've been taking Suboxones for the last year and my doctor has been bringing me down every visit. Once a month I'm at .5 a strip except I can't get down that low. I'm out now and feel like garbage on day 3. If I am going to go through it now I'm wondering what will help to do it? ## Hello, Tausha! How are you feeling? I know opiate withdrawals can be terrible. According to FDA reports you may experience nausea, diarrhea, rebound pain, muscle cramps, headaches, and insomnia. Ref: Medline Plus Opiate Withdrawals It is normal for a doctor to eventually taper a patient off of Suboxone. Has your doctor suggested anything to help? When I came off of high doses of opiates from being on pain management, it was pretty miserable. I took Tylenol for the aches, and pains, and of...

I was using Vic's/oxys for about 3 years. I finally was able to get into a detoxing center but was only able to stay 6 days. In them 6 days they gave me suboxone 4mg strips twice daily. The last time I used vicodin was 11/10/15 and the last time I had suboxone was 11/16/15 at 630am. Is it possible for me to be having w/d now? And if so from which? And did my body have enough time to build up a tolerance? And yes I went cold turkey from the suboxone. Plz somebody help ## How are you feeling? Have you experienced any withdrawals? You'd likely not experience any immediately, it wouldn't happen, until you missed one or more doses, though the time frame can vary from person to person. The FDA warns that possible withdrawal symptoms may include nausea, dizziness, rebound pain, dep...

I started taking suboxone almost 11 weeks ago. I was only taking 4mgs and today i went down to 2mgs. How long will it take me to taper to nothing and not have withdrawals? Please help. I am so sorry I ever touched these things. ## Hello, Karen! How are you? Regardless of how low you taper, you will likely still experience some minor withdrawal symptoms, once you finally stop altogether. Has your doctor provided any instructions? It does contain a very potent narcotic, to you do need to taper off of it as slowly as possible. Is this the only medication you're on? ## ive been taking about 2mg maybe less for about 2 years. havent taken it in three days trying to quit cold turkey. the only withdrawel symptoms ive had was no energy very little insomnia and a little anxiety eapecially whe...

I have stupidly run out of my suboxone. i have been on 3 strips a day for over a year and somehow this month i have run out. I really think my brother stole them, but that is another story. I cannot get a refill for 8 days and have only taken 1 a day for the last three days. i am down to a half of a strip and already i feel shaky, no appetite, no mental focus, tired (like a truck ran over me), and ache bad all over. I have fibromyalgia real bad and TMJ and some other things. My pain is kicking in and I don't know what to do. I don't think I can last 8 more days. I have to work and have a 2 year old, 3 year old and 4 year old to chase and take care of. What can I do to get through the withdrawal for the next 8 days? ## hi, i have been on suboxone and methadone and withdrawals arn...

It's like there is fire in my blood and it's such a strong feeling. Anyone help please????????? ## Hello, Ldawg! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. It sounds like you might not be on a high enough dosage of the Suboxone to prevent it. Some people do require a higher one, for awhile, then it can be lowered once they are past this. Have you spoken to your doctor about the problem? The FDA lists this mediation as being a narcotic analgesic, ...

I quickly tapered down to 1&1/2 of the strip's per day..I got so tired of being on it so I began to stock pile it to withdraw on it at home.. I got down to 1-2 mg.s per day for about the past month and began yesterday (Monday) withdrawing..It's now Tuesday (July 9,2013) and still feel like I did yesterday.. No vomiting nor the big "D" but sweating, lethargic, chilling, feel achy, etc.. I am trying get myself clean off H n just took a 6mg suboxone strip. Will it help if so long till it works? ## Hi Kitty! B 4 the suboxone will work, u MUST b in withdrawals. Otherwise, it won't work and can make u feel worse. As far as time, they usually take about 15 minutes 2 work. If the g don't work, u may need more. It all depends on how much and how long u were using. But, if you want 2 get clean, u r going 2 need more than a day or few 2 do it. U should go 2 a clinic or suboxone dr and do it properly. If u r not already doing that. Remember, the main thing is 2 b withdrawing b 4 u take the suboxone.

I have been taking subs for about 5monthes now...had tapered down to 1mg a day and then I messed u and took 2-4 mg a day for about a week. Now I can't get anymore and I only have about 1 and a quarter of a pill left ( About 10 mg) ...am I going to be able to use this small amount to be able to taper enough to have light enough withdrawls symptoms so that I can still go to work...or am I screwed? ## IT is difficult to say, since it does contain the narcotic Buprenorphine, you may experience withdrawals, but the severity can vary from one person to another. It may best to try to plan your taper and the time you stop taking it for when you have a day or two off of work. The withdrawals can cause rebound pain, fever, chills and nausea. If your symptoms become severe, you can always go t...

I want to get clean as I have been on opiates for too long. Please advise. ## Hi Tina! I was on opiates for 11 years and became sick and tired of addiction. I've been on suboxone for 10 years now and my life has been so much better. It helps with withdrawals and cravings. It's up to you which route you want to take to get clean. Some people go cold turkey, some go on methadone and others take suboxone. I've tried cold turkey and suffered severely. But everyone is different. Were you looking for information about suboxone or thinking about getting on it? If you have any questions I would be happy to help. ## stop taking opiates. You will get very sick, no way around this. You can accelerate the process by taking an antagonist, not something I would recommend unless I still ha...

You don't have to be in withdrawal to take subutex. Been on it for 6 years. I always read this garbage from people that don't have a damn clue, passing on info they are just regurgitating. ## Hello, tmoney! How are you? That is correct and thank you for posting. Sometimes, people may feel minor withdrawal symptoms, because Buprenorphine tends to be stronger in gripping onto the opiate receptors, so it kicks out other stuff someone may have taken. But, if doesn't cause the dangerous precipitated withdrawals, in most cases, that people can experience if they take Suboxone too soon, due to the Naloxone that's in it. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may c...

Been on suboxones for over a year. I stopped taking them for a week because of some dental work. I was in so much pain needing a root canal and I realized that no matter how many hydrocodones I took, it did nothing for pain. I am thinking it's because I've been on suboxones. Anyway, I want to start back on suboxones, but I am nervous to when to start taking them. The last time I took hydrocodone was about 17 hours ago. I do not feel any withdrawal symptoms from stopping them. When would I be safe to take my suboxone? ## Hello, Ricsgirl! How are you? Suboxone actually contains 2 ingredients, the opiate Buprenorphine and Naloxone, which neutralizes other opiates to help prevent their abuse, while someone is under treatment with it. The Naloxone is most likely why the Hydrocodone d...

Looking for Suboxone Pills or Film for my 25 year old daughter ## I am sorry, this site does not manufacture, prescribe nor sell any products. this is an information only website. In addition, Suboxone contains the active ingredients Buprenorphine and Naloxone, the first is a powerful narcotic and the second neutralizes other opiates. That means that this drug is very dangerous if it is not used properly, because it can put someone into severe withdrawals that can endanger their life. It should only be used under a doctors supervision, who can provide the proper instructions on when to start the medication and calibrate the proper dosage. Then, the amount has to be very slowly tapered to allow the person to ever become drug free. Are there any comments or questions?

Suboxone/Subutex should be used one way and one way only. Start with the professionally recommended dose; (usually according to one's opiate intake) and ween off of it in 5-14 days. Any longer than that and it becomes a crutch, simply trading one demon for another. I know people that have been on it for 3yrs, and when it came time to stop...HELL. I took it for a year. Mistake. I suffered worse withdrawals from that then any other before. I relapsed. Relapsed with a plan of pure Will. I used vicodin for two weeks, weened myself off and suffered much, much less. Suboxone is powerful s***, not to mention expensive. I am a member of Pills Anonymous; therefore, I am speaking not only from my own experience, but dozens of others. Trust me; save yourself. Aloha ## Thank you for your post. ...
