Should THYROX 25 be taken if a patient has T3-120.70, T4-9.0 and TSH 7.14? PLS SUGGEST ME WHAT TO DO. THANKS. ## What has your doctor advised? They are the person that is best qualified to answer your questions and help you decide if the medication would be beneficial for you to use. ## I have shown the reports to many doctors. Some have advised to take the medicine but some are strictly saying not to take the medicine. ## Can anyone advise me of a company which manufactures Thyrox 25 or Thyrox 50? I am based in the UK. ## If a doctor you trust is saying to take it, then maybe allow them to write you a prescription. Then while taking it monitor how you feel and follow up with them often so that they can have you stop if need be. Be proactive about your health.

Am being suffering from Hypothyroid and consuming T-25 tablet for the past 2 months but i don't find any changes personally added i found some strange feeling in my neck ## Not everyone experiences side effects from any given medication, some people don't experience any, at all, so that doesn't necessarily mean that there is a problem. Levothyroxine can cause weight changes and hair loss, which usually upsets some people that have to take it, so if you aren't having this problems, that is very fortunate. Has your doctor done blood tests to check your levels? Have they improved?

i have brought some thyroxine off the internet, they came from india, and they are like a funny shape and they have 25 printed on them, they are pure white.. how do i know if these are genuine pills? and do they make you lose weight? ## From a foreign source and with just that vague imprint, there is really no way to know for sure what you received. It could be anything. This is one of the hazards of ordering from foreign pharmacies that are not regulated by the U.S. FDA. In addition, Thyroxine is not considered safe to be used as a weight loss drug, it is actually only approved and intended to treat Thyroid conditions and since those levels have to be carefully monitored, the blood levels of your Thyroid hormones have to be checked on a regular basis. Have you tried speaking to your do...

my mom having this tab, she have a sweling body is this a side effect . ## Has she consulted her doctor? How long has she been taking it? It might be the sign of an allergic reaction and she should contact her doctor immediately. ## Hi. My grandmother is 70+ and she has just recently managed to get her sodium levels under control, they were quite low. Also she is diabetic but thats under control, her BP is usually in the 140 range, cant really help that because she needs to take salt capsules to regain her sodium during summers and the monsoon season. Now, she has been experiencing a sudden weight gain, with excessive swelling to the feet. That came down a bit with a 5 day dosage of lasix 40mg, cant continue as she may lose electrolytes again. Sir I want to know is it to be continued for many yers or may be discontinued. Thanks ## sarafeen, what has your doctor advised? Levothyroxine is a naturally occurring hormone in the body, so in these doses that usually just replace what your body is missing, it hasn't been known to cause harm to the baby. And Ram, it's really going to depend on how you respond to the current dosage of the medication. Have you talked to your doctor about it?...

I have been taking 25mcg of levothyroxine for about a year and a half when I had to switch to escripts. I received my prescription in the mail and the tablets were now oval and scored and manufactured by SANDOZ. Two weeks into this new script and I started having odd sensations in my chest and my hands would be stone cold. At work I hooked myself up to telemetry and saw that I was throwing PVCs three at a time. Heart rate was 69 and no other issues except a weird feeling I cannot describe accurately. It was the third time that happened while on the new script. I printed out a strip to take to my Dr and had an EKG done with no problems noted (of course I wasn't experiencing any symptoms at the time of the EKG). Anything like this happen to anyone here? ## Hello, Kini! How are you? Yo...

I have had narcolepsy for 15 years and its well controlled with provigil. October of 2014 after 2 1/2 months of different tests I was diagnosed with hashimotos with a 2.2 cm nodule. I have been taking 25mcg of l-thyroxine. I felt real good about 6 weeks after starting it but after being on it about 3 months symptoms started coming back. I never lost the symptom of being cold. I am so tired of being cold. The lack of energy and my legs feel heavy my voice is froggy and sometimes I feel dull pain in my neck. Just switched doctors a couple days ago. New Dr said if l-thyroxine dose isn't right it can cause being cold or hot. I'm waiting for blood work to come back. He is also checking my t3, my old Dr refused to. She said tsh .738(.350-3.74) and free t4 1.14(.76-1.46) were great num...

According to a medical test i had undergone recently, it was written that my T3 and T4 secretions were allright. But the secretion of TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) was less (my TSH was found to be 5.98 uIU/ml, wherease as written in the report, in adults it is found to be 0.27 to 4.2 uIU/ml). So, as prescribed by the doctor, each morning, i am taking one tablet of Thyroxine Sodium Tablets IP, whose each uncoated tablet contains-- Thyroxine Sodium IP equivalent to anhydrous Thyroxine Sodium 25mcg Synthetic thyroid Hormone. At present i do not take any other medicine or never in my life have i consumed any long term medicine as such. I was prescribed 50mg tablets of thyroxine to replace the 2x 25mg tablets I had been on. Stupidly I forgot and for 10 days have been taking 2x 50mg tablets. I realised this morning and haven't taken any today. Will this double dose cause any problems? Aside from my general health, I am undertaking ivf this week and I'm worried that this double dose will cause problems. Can anyone shed any light and put my mind at ease?

I had been on the same levothyroxine prescription for about 25 years. In the last 3 years my medication has had to be readjusted 3 times. Now I am back on a lower dose and wanted to know if I can still use the previous, leftover supply that has expired about 1-2 years ago? ## Hello, Laurene! How are you? Medications tend to lose effectiveness over time and since treating a thyroid disorder is so touchy, it would be best to dispose of the expired ones and obtain a new supply. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, hair loss and weight changes. My mom has been taking Thyrox 25 for the last month. However, she has been suffering from skin problems such as itching and rashes for the past 2 to 3 weeks. These rashes resemble rings on the skin and they're spreading. Could this be a side effect of the medication mentioned above? Please advise. ## The typical side effects of this medication are listed by the NIH as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, weight changes, and hair loss. If she has a rash that looks like rings and is spreading, it could be a fungal infection, or something bacterial. She needs to have that checked out by her doctor. Is she on any other medications? Has there been any change in the rash?
