wat are d side effects of thyronorm ## Thyronorm is a brand of Levothyroxine sodium that is used to treat hypothyroidism. Dosing must be carefully controlled to achieve TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) levels within the normal reference range. Long-term suppression of TSH values below normal values will frequently cause cardiac side-effects and contribute to decreases in bone mineral density (high TSH levels are also well known to contribute to osteoporosis). Patients prescribed too high a dose of levothyroxine may experience effects that mimic hyperthyroidism. Overdose can result in heart palpitations, abdominal pain, nausea, anxiousness, confusion, agitation, insomnia, weight loss, and increased appetite. Allergic reactions to the drug are characterized by symptoms such as difficulty...

i am taking thyronorm 50 mcg since last 2 years my t3 t4 tsh are in range. problem is hair loss, dryness of skin and weight gain ## I'm sorry, but there really is no solution as long as you are taking this medication. There are well known side effects of it and they tend to continue. Have you consulted your doctor? They might be able to make some suggestions to help with the dry skin. Additionally, a supplement such as Biotin, if it's safe for you to take, may help slow the hair loss. Other supplements may help, as well, such as a good multivitamin. It's hard to say, some people have good luck with them and some don't. ## From starting of hypothyroid i was taking Thyroxine Sodium Tablets IP Eltroxin 100mcg monday to friday (5 Days) prescribed by doctor. Does a person on 25 MCG of Thyronorm often experience the side affects of weight gain and hair loss from this drug? Or...is that fairly rare? I have thin hair and weight gain already...due to my slugglish thyroid problem. I hardly want to be on medication that causes these problems to continue. ## Yes, a large percentage of people do experience them, that's why they are denoted by the name 'common side effects.' However, since it would be used to help correct your existing thyroid problem, there is a good chance it will balance out for you, rather than worse the problem. Have you discussed your concerns with your doctor?

Should I be worried and consult my doctor or will this symptom go away after some time? ## Hello, Sweety! Congratulations on the pregnancy! That's not typical with this medication, the U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, intolerance to heat, hair loss, and weight changes. I am taking thyronorm 75mcg for the past 3 months. We are planning for a baby. Will this affect my pregnancy? ## Actually, it should help you. You'd have way more of a problem trying to conceive, if your Thyroid were left to continue being out of control, with its hormones, since they can affect the entire body. Just make sure that your doctor knows you are trying to conceive and let them know if you do become pregnant, that way they can monitor your condition and your medication dosage. Thyronorm contains the active ingredient Thyroxine. Common side effects that you may experience can include: nausea, drowsiness, weight gain and hair loss.
