I have been getting these headaches averaging about 4 or 5 days a week for about 3 years. It feels like my actual forehead is numb, that is the best way I can think of to describe it, and it feels kind of tight. I looked up my symptoms online and the word Tension Headache kept popping up. Is it truly one? I had a CAT Scan done last month and it showed nothing is wrong. My doctor put me on Imitrax and it did absolutely nothing. I take so many Advil and Tylenol, it is ridiculous. I have an appointment with a neurologist in 3 weeks, but I am just dreading that he is gonna run tests like an MRI, then he will have to look at the results and then I have to make another appointment and that could take like another 3 weeks, so I could be looking at 6 more weeks until I find out what is going on...

Can anyone help with a cure, or reason why I get headaches? Mainly come on in the early hours, just before I get up. They usually drift away, If I get up before they set in, otherwise they linger all blooming day, sometimes last into the next day. I have tried many different pills, and potions. Bachs Floewer remedy, Tens machine, Acupuncture, Senn a Psycologist, had a brain scan (yes they found one before you ask) A neurologist put it down to muscle tension headaches, now all I can do is just live with it. I can't believe I have to live the rest of my life waking up every morning with a headache. It has cost me friends, jobs, and even my marriage. Sleep apnea has been ruled out. But, the latest pill Pregablin looks like it may be working, after a week of taking them. Has anyone ever...

I was prescribed Cymbalta by my doctor for migraines and muscle tension headaches. I have read many of the other pain disorder related discussions...anyone else on this for chronic headaches? ## i take zoloft 150mg and topomax 50mg am and pm for migraine prevention. i know that for me both help. ## Cymbalta is a Selective Seratonin NorEpinephrine ReUptake Inhibitor, not having enough of this in your brain can sometimes cause severe headaches and migraines, so prescribing this type of thing to help treat them is very common. ## no comments ## whats the generic form for cymbalta?8784 ## I prefer TOPAMAX 100mg 2xday with imitrex spray for full blow mirgraines.

I have on day five of contrave and just started getting headaches. I was wondering what other peoples headaches feel like? Mine are more like at the bottom of my temple and the top of my jaw bone on both sides....I feel like I have a lot of pressure.....is it like this for anyone else? ## I got a weird feeling in my head, less of a headache and more tension/pressure. Also tightness in my jaw and face, pressure in my eyes. I stopped it after a week but I keep reading that over time the problems get better. I am going to give it another shot and try to stick it out for at least a couple of months to see if things get better and if the medicine works. ## I have the same exact headaches and feelings. If I knew they would eventually go away I would stick it out,but I'm not sure. Its the ...

Migraine / Tension Headache Drug Category

Migraine is a chronic neurological disorder characterized by recurrent moderate to severe headaches often in association with a number of autonomic nervous system symptoms. The word derives from the Greek μικρανα (hemikrania), "pain on one side of the head",[1] from μι- (hemi-), "half", and κρανον (kranion), "skull".[2] Typically the headache is unilateral (affecting one half of the head) and pulsating in nature, lasti...

I started last week with a nasty tension head/neck ache. I had some OLD fioricet (From 2012!) that I gave in and took yesterday. One tab did nothing, so took 2 and another a few hours later. Now today I'm still feeling crappy! I am just worried about rebound headaches. How long could I take this safely without running into problems? I'm trying my hardest not to take it, headaches just got so bad :( ## Hello, Wendi! How are you? I'm sorry about the headaches. Unfortunately, there is no definitive answer that I can give you, because it can always vary from person to person. Some people can take this medication, as needed, for a very long time and never get rebound headaches, while others may experience them frequently. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication ...

tension headaches ## Do you mean Medrol? ## Medrol is a steroid class medication that is used to treat allergic reactions, and immune disorders. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, acne, fluid retention, and weight changes. Did you mean that it has caused a headache, or do you want to use it to treat a tension headache?

for tension headaches, tylenol does not help and aspiringives me a tummy ache ## Have you considered trying any Essential Oils (such as Peppermint or Lavender) for tension headaches? These types of oils are pretty light on the budget, but can work wonders and usually don't come with any of the strange side effects you get from OTC and Rx Meds. Ginseng may also be a really good alternative for tension headaches. I would suggest doing some research on it if you're open to the idea. I hope this helps!

I've been using adcadol tabs for headaches n tension, can it make me gain weight,I take 6 tabs for da day ## Hello, Pops! How are you? No, that's not a side effect it typically causes. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I was on Hydrocone for my migraine/tension headaches for 3 years my dr decided to stop prescribing pain meds to her patients. Now I'm at a loss NJ Is really cracking down. My new GP referred me to a neorologist and I was thinking about asking him about Fiorcet not Hydrocone but how do I ask without sounding like a addict? ## Hello, Lola! How are you? Fioricet contains a barbiturate, not a narcotic. It contains Butalbital, Acetaminophen and Caffeine. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia and nervousness. There should be no reason to worry about sounding like an addict. Just be honest about how bad they are and don't try to demand that he prescribed something. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have just been prescribed AT for my chronic tension type headaches and currently take Cerezzete birth control pill. Does anyone know if the AT counteract the Cerezette? I can't seem to find any info about this on the internet and didn't want to bother my Doctor again. Thanks. ## The Progestogen in the Cerazette may slightly reduce the effectiveness of the Amitriptyline, while at the same time increasing the possible side effects. So, it's nothing dangerous and it won't reduce the effectiveness of your contraceptive, but you should be careful about driving or anything, since you may feel more drowsy and dizzy than normally expected. You can, as long as your doctor approves, but the Zoloft may reduce the efficacy of the Codeine.
