I am in the military and just got a urine test back positive for temazepam. I have never heard of the drug before and they are trying to get me into trouble for it. I haven't been taking ANY prescription drugs for the past year. How is this possible? ## This just happened to me as well. I was notified today. Where are you located? I'm curious if we're victims of the same lab mistake... ## California ## This just happened to me as well and I have no idea what it is ## This just happened to me as well, I am rx'ed xanax 1mg 3x daily and now my doctor is performing drugs tests now and this last drug test I came out postive for restoril ( temazepam) I have now idea what this medication is for. I am on a lot of meds and taking drug tests for probation, i have been testing positive for benzos for months and the lab never finds them but my last test a week ago showed positive for restoril and serax, even though i am not taking them. What meds can cause this? ## I take Xanax and percocet, plus a lot of other things. I have been on antibiotics for awhile. Anyway, the past 2 months, my urine test showed positive for timazepam! I have tested positive for it the past 2 months! I have NO idea what it is. Could the combination of any medications make timazepam make it test positive?

Will this OTC sleep aid show positive on a drug screen for a new job? ## Hi Tony, With over-the-counter medications, you generally don't need to worry about drug tests. However, because false positives are so common now-a-days, I would actually suggest letting the lab know what you're taking prior to the test, just to play it safe. It may not even matter though, because Alteril contains natural plant based ingredients, which to my knowledge, shouldn't even trigger anything. I'd be interested in knowing how your drug screening went, if you passed with flying colors or not? ## My pain management doctor does regular drug screens (6-8 in the last couple years). Alteril did show up on my latest drug screen as Restoril (Temazepam). It had never shown up on previous screens. Po...

Been tested for 2 months straight and have been taking nothing other than addrell, klopohine, and aleve and I know have 2 opiates drug positive tests. How can this be and no, I do not ear poppy seeds and take cold medicine that would last forever in my system. ## No, none of the medications you mentioned contain any type of opiate, nor have they been known to cause false positives for them. Learn more Adderall details here. Learn more Klonopin details here. Learn more Aleve details here. Have you taken anything else, at all, even other over the counter products?

I took a drug screen and I am on Kolonapin. The kolonapin didn't show up but oxazepam and temazepam did and I have never even heard of them and had too look them up. Why did they come up but not my kolonapin and why did they pop up because I never heard of them or used them? ## They are also types of Benzodiazepines, just like the Clonazepam in the Klonopin and, if the place doing the testing uses the less expensive, non-certified tests, then they are known to show false positives anywhere from 4 to 50% of the time. And related medications are known to cause false positives for each other on these types of tests. Learn more Benzodiazepine details here. Are tehre any other questions or comments? ## Klonapin/clinazapam only stays in your system 3 days while xanex/oxaxepam stays in you...

Not sure if its the same where you are but might be worth it to ask them. ## Restoril is a pill for sleeping; a benzoid More info on the medication can be found here ## Yes, as Donna has posted, Restoril is a Benzodiazepine, it contains the active ingredient Temazepam. There are sometimes other substances that can cause false positives for Benzodiazepines. Did you take anything else recently, such as an antibiotic, or even s...
