Is it common to gain weight when you're on Co-Pritor? I have picked up 10 kg's since I started with the High blood medication. Your advice and help would be appreciated. ## Co-Pritor contains the active ingredients Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothiazide. From what I've read on each of those individual medications, neither of them list weight gain as a possible side effect. Interestingly enough, "loss of appetite" is listed as a side effect of Hydrochlorothiazide. My Mother is 96 y.o. diagnosed of Chronic Stable Angina, of AODM at age 80 with essential hypertension. She has a recent episode of lung infection treated with decongestant and antibiotic. She is on multiple meds. such as Vastarel MR, Pritor Plus, Simvastatin, Neurobion, Minidiab. At such age could these meds. be cut down gradually to substitute with alternative therapy? Or which drug should be cut out of her med. arsenal? ## At her age and with such health conditions, it is best to consult her doctor and let him make any adjustments that may be necessary.
