Teeth Problems After Taking Prolia

I took Prolia two months ago. I am developing loose teeth and sore spots on my gums. Have others experienced similar problems after taking Prolia? I had my infusion Mar 4 2015. I have experienced severe stomach pains, leg pains that wake me up at night, a horrible dry cough, near migraine type headaches, very severe weakness, trouble walking, constipation, had to have dental work that I usually have great teeth, some trouble sleeping. My rheumatologist did nothing to try to help me with the symptoms but my primary doctor gave me medication that help with the stomach pains, take Excedrin for Migraines and enteric aspirin for back and body, and other meds to try and find some comfort. My Oncologist wants me to start Prolia injections in june but my regular doctor is concerned because I take Benacar for high blood pressure and says that Benacar can cause kidney problems and is worried about me taking Prolia as it can cause kidney problems and since i have had kidney failure in the past it could cause me more problems. Should I take Prolia or not? Just wondering. I also need some teeth pulled before I get the shot. I had breast cancer 5 years ago and did Chemo Radiation and had surgery to remove the breast. I am 61 years old. Please give me some insight. ## If possible, it would be good to get these two doctors to discuss it, together, so they can mutually decide what would be best for you. after my last dental hygiene appt. my dentist came in and stated the nurse who cleaned my teeth saw many cavities. they did x-rays. i suddenly have 9 cavities & 2 root canals. i never had this before. i contacted amgen, who produce the shot. they said no one has had trouble w/their teeth, just jaw problems. if anyone has had this type of problem, please write in. thank you ## How long of a time period was there between when you received the Prolia and the dental appointment? Have scoliosis and failed back syndrome. Have intrathecal prialt pump, rheumatoid arthritis, hip turned in, atrial fibrillation, kidney stones, osteoarthritis, two knees that need replacement, neuropathy, history of cellulitis, teeth problems, two feet that need fusions, skin so thin from using prednisone, olecrenitis in elbows. It can cause a dry mouth and throat and it only makes sense that if you're dryer, your saliva would be thicker. You may find that sipping water frequently may help, unless you're on fluid restriction, or ice chips can also help. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, loose teeth, constipation and abdominal discomfort. When a Doctor give you a shot of the drug Prolia, he should advise you of the serious side effects. My Wife took the first shot six Month ago and she go to bed crying every night. The prolia Nurse says do go to emergency and we did, that was a waste of time they do not have any idea what Prolia is. She will not take any more injection on the ad vise of several Doctors. She is having problems with her Jaw and the Doctors just a wafe it off and say it is not a side effect of prolia. She cant sleep she has red spots al over her legs. The Dentist is keeping a close watch on her teeth because the are starting to seperate and it goes on and on, she does not have Osteoporosis and all of this started with a dislocated wrist. Hi all, Pood here. I tried to call Amgen about the two teeth that totally decayed below the gum line. Apparently they are now keeping office hours and close at 8pm Eastern which makes no sense because they are in Canada. I think I will talk to a local "ambulance chaser" to see if I can get any interest from him. Meanwhile, I go back to my dentist this Thursday. Jan, is your dentist behind you on this new problem and have youreported it? Hugs. ## I’ve had ONJ since November 2017. Antibiotics by mouth 7 times, 2 rounds of IV antibiotics by picc line.
