Taking Way Too Much Suboxone

I take way too damn much. I have came across this website a bunch. I take more than 32 mg a day and I always end up regretting it. I don't know what's wrong with me and I know its stupid. Every time I get my script I always end up doing the same damn thing. I don't know why and when I try to go down, I feel wrong, I know this may sound crazy to some, but I just want to figure out a way to make myself stop taking so much. I live in Arkansas and I have medicaid. In Arkansas, I guess people are allowed 24 months of treatment. Does anyone know how I can get more treatment through medicaid? I was doing real good at one time for about three months. My script is 3 8/2 mga day 24 mg. That sounds high too I know. I am here just seeking help. ## @cj, Medicaid's policies are ridden...

I am wondering how many days should I stop taking suboxone because I don't have enough to last till my appointment. I want to know if I stop for a few days, will I feel better when I take it? I can take at least 5 suboxone per day and still feel like I need more. I don't know why it is that way. I want to be able to take a lower dose, and I need answers. I need help with how to start taking them right - should I switch to Subutex? ## If you are in withdrawals (i.e. Watery eye(s) muscle aches, then later sweating and constant goose bumps till your skin is sore from it, and you can't tell if you're hot or cold because you're sweating and getting goose bumps aka HELL) then any amount of suboxone that stays in your mouth for at least 10 minutes will stop or at least ease...

I want to get clean as I have been on opiates for too long. Please advise. ## Hi Tina! I was on opiates for 11 years and became sick and tired of addiction. I've been on suboxone for 10 years now and my life has been so much better. It helps with withdrawals and cravings. It's up to you which route you want to take to get clean. Some people go cold turkey, some go on methadone and others take suboxone. I've tried cold turkey and suffered severely. But everyone is different. Were you looking for information about suboxone or thinking about getting on it? If you have any questions I would be happy to help. ## stop taking opiates. You will get very sick, no way around this. You can accelerate the process by taking an antagonist, not something I would recommend unless I still ha...

Suboxone/Subutex should be used one way and one way only. Start with the professionally recommended dose; (usually according to one's opiate intake) and ween off of it in 5-14 days. Any longer than that and it becomes a crutch, simply trading one demon for another. I know people that have been on it for 3yrs, and when it came time to stop...HELL. I took it for a year. Mistake. I suffered worse withdrawals from that then any other before. I relapsed. Relapsed with a plan of pure Will. I used vicodin for two weeks, weened myself off and suffered much, much less. Suboxone is powerful s***, not to mention expensive. I am a member of Pills Anonymous; therefore, I am speaking not only from my own experience, but dozens of others. Trust me; save yourself. Aloha ## Thank you for your post. ...

Want to know how many 8mg suboxone strips it takes to reach the 'ceiling effect' which docs say is equivalent to 30mg of methadone? ## Sub dr. told me 32mg or 4 of the 8/2 strips. In my opinion thats way too much sub for anyone to be on anyways. ## I never felt suboxone, whether I took 1 or 4, subutex ceiling affect for me was 4 or 32 mg... ## Hey christian777, Your not suppose to feel suboxone. It doesn't make you high. You might feel something very slightly at first but that goes away quickly and you just feel normal. Ceiling effect just means that after so many mgs the drug just can,t do anymore for you. Thats why when someone needs more than lets say 30mgs of methadone to "feel right " suboxone may not be the best choice for them. Methadone has no ceiling effect ...

I have been taking 60mg of Morphine daily for a year. This past week I took 3-4 8mg Dilaudids daily. Last night I went back to 60 mg Morphine. This morning I took 6mg of Suboxone and was in withdrawal 20 minutes later. I had to take a 1 mg Xanax and fell asleep. I am worried about tomorrow. I have no more Subs but I do have a 60mg Morphine. How long should I wait to take the Morphine? ## Go see a Doctor and stay on suboxone if you wish to turn your life around. You got sick on suboxone as you took it way too soon after taking morphine and put yourself into precipitated withdrawal. Combining opiates with xanax puts you at much higher risk of overdose and death. Get help please ## I took 4mg of sub at 9am will I still feel the opiate if I do it around 3 or 4 pm today?? ## @Kayla, Based on...

The last 2 years of taking suboxone I have had severe anxiety which has caused me to really go threw way too much Xanax. I have just found out that naloxone has a lot of side effects that I have had and have been suffering from. What should I tell my suboxone doctor who I would think should know this ive told them 100s of times all the symptoms and I actually think their are more side effects than reported I noticed when I abruptly stopped taking them that the itching and tingling in my face was gone which was an everyday thing I also am wondering if it has caused me other serious side effects not reported like my periods are out of whack and unusual im 43 and my whole life I have always been pretty skinny. But in this last year and a half I have put on close to 50 pounds out of nowhere...

My pharmacy recently switched to a round orange Suboxone with the numbers 970 on it and it burns my mouth pretty bad and doesn't seem to be as effective as my old ones. Has anyone else had this problem? Why does it burn? ## Hello OhioKing, Sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble with your medication. I was taking a look into it and I've read a couple of other users that said they had a similar experience. It seems that most of these stories boiled down to either an allergic reaction or that their doctor had them taking too many dosages a day and that in the end the doctor had them go from 4x a day to 2x a day. Either way I suggest that you consult your doctor immediately in case it turns out to be an allergic reaction to the medication. Burning of the mouth is definite...

Since my son started taking suboxone, he has developed hatred for me. We have always been very close, but now he is verbally abusive. It is only when he takes the drug. I should add, he sometimes drinks beer while on it. Has anyone else experienced this? ## He's taking too much !! I've felt the exact same way when taking more than 12mg. I'm on 6mg and feel great. I don't think the beer worsens the suboxone, but it doesn't help. I'd suggest he lower his suboxone. Or, instead of taking it all at once, take half in the a.m., half in the evening. good luck ! ## my friend has been taking 8mg 4 times a day for about 4 months. Just this week his behavior went off the wall, he is like a different person. Can he be having a reaction to this medication. He has been complai...

This is simple. I've been on suboxone for five years. I'm clean. I took opiates for thirty years. Methadone was the kinky way out and frankly doesn't work for the same reason subutex rarely works. You can still take opiates on top of both. Suboxone has a blocker. It is easy knowing you can't feel high. I still go to therapy and meetings. Beats being deaf. Good luck. ## Hello, Anfy! How are you? Actually, Subutex can still block other opiates from working, so many people do have good luck with it. It contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, which tends to cling to the opiate receptors in the brain much stronger than most other opiates, so it can also cause precipitated withdrawal, if someone has been taking any recently. The FDA classifies it as an opiate that is mos...

I was on the generic suboxone pill the round orange AN 415 tablet when I went to pick up my remaining partial perscription I saw that the pharmacist handed me a completely different pill it was the new pink/peach 54/375 tablet I immediately questioned this pill wondering if in fact it would be as good! Well I took the first one tonight and I feel they work much better for me I agree with many others on this forum it's all mainly the way the body metabolizes it in my opinion it's like different strokes for different folks! ## Glad to hear that this newer tablet is working well for you. I know it can often times be a gamble when you go to the pharmacy frequently and expect to get the same thing every single time, only to be given what's left in the shuffle. Thankfully getting ...

I took an 1/8 or less of a 8/2mg suboxone. I did not take it to get off opiates but to ease through wds until i get my script filled tomorrow This is my first time ever taking suboxone. Will such a low dose prevent me from feeling my percocet in 20hrs? ## I don't have personal experience on the matter, but I'd imagine that the Suboxone wouldn't have had much time to accumulate in your system since you've only been taking it for a couple days now. According to wiki, the elimination half-life of buprenorphine lies anywhere between 20 to 73 hours (or about 37 hours on avg). If you want to play it safe you should probably give it an extra day and trust your intuition on the timing of your dose. Everyone's metabolism is different, but this way you'd at least know for ...

I have had some cravings lately so I took a couple buprenophine 54 375 pills. I SWALLOWED them and then realized they were the 8mg/2mg and also that i swallowed them instead of under my tongue. I have been f***ed up for 3 days. Bad headaches and no appetite. I swallowed them because i forgot how to take them and either way, it was way too much and I would say be careful. I will not do that again. These things are dangerous. ## When taken under the tongue, the bupe kicks the naloxones ass and it has no effect. When swallowed, the bupe has poor bioavaillabilty 5-10% max. Naloxone is absorbed by the stomach rather well, so it looks like in your case the naloxone beat the bupe. It doesn't happen very often. I feel for you. It sucks. I hate naloxone. Which is why I'm on Subutex. I ne...

Any1 had any luck w/this? I've been on Subo waaay too long and am more than ready to get off. My new dr suggests the Vivitrol shot. He says to go 3 days w/o any Subs b4 getting the shot. Very nervous. Not so sure I can even go 3 days w/o. Wondering if any1 else has went through this transition and does it actually help w/cravings and w/d? i don't crave so much, but I do w/d and THAT is terrifying when I am a single mother, have no parents or family and must do this on my own. Any answers are much appreciated. God Bless! ## Why isn't this doctor just tapering you off of the Suboxone? That is the way it is normally done, after a period of time, when someone is past the craving portion. The Vivitrol contains Naltrexone. However it doesn't contain any type of narcotic like t...

Could I be at risk of dying from 2mgs of Suboxone if I haven’t taken painkillers in a long time? Help me, I’m scared af to sleep. I know I’m stupid. ## Moose123, Before I get into too much detail of the drug I should ask a few questions first. Was the suboxone prescribed to you? If so have you ever taken suboxone previously so that you know you aren't allergic? If I were to assume that this medication was prescribed to you and that this is not your first time taking suboxone (based on you saying it's been a long time since you previously took painkillers) I would say that the only way I can see you dying in your sleep from taking this medication is an allergic reaction that you suddenly developed. According to the NIH there is no warnings or reports that I can ...

I was prescribed opiate painkillers for 5 years. I gradually became totally addicted to the point that while these drugs ( Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Oxycontin and others) worked well for their intended purpose, the 'good feeling" they gave me became the focal point of my life. The unavoidable physical and psychological dependence eventually led to serious and harmful consequences- damaged or ruined relationships (divorce in my case) with people who were now less important than the drugs. Responsibilities and interests I had fell by the wayside. Although I have a legitimate need for pain relief due to nerve damage caused by disease, the doctor saw that I was abusing the drugs- taking too much and using them to get high- and cut me off. The withdrawal symptoms were horrific. I went ...

I have never used suboxone, so had no idea 20mg was too much.Ended up so dizzy and stumbling around with vibrations in my ears and head. What the hell was he thinking? So tired and dizzy the next day so i went back to his clinic and saw the other Dr. there, she immediately sent me to the emerg.I have now been prescribed 2mg a day and wondering why i feel crappy still.Am i going through perc withdrawals or Sub withdrawals. ## That's not necessarily a mistake, they have to gauge your dose based on what drug you were abusing, how much of it you were abusing and how long you were abusing it, which means there is still a large margin for error, because there's no way they can guess how any individual will actually react to the Suboxone. Sometimes, they get it right and sometimes they d...

I have been taking way too much gabapentin for several years now. I started taking it to help alleviate withdrawal symptoms from suboxone. Then I started taking more and more and found out that stopping gabapentin has its own terrible withdrawal. I take about twenty 600mg gabapentin pills a day. More or less depending on how much I have. When I run out the withdrawal is pretty bad but what's worse is that it lasts way too long. It takes at least the days to get through the worst of it. I could just really use some help. Does suboxone help alleviate gabapentin/lyrica withdrawal symptoms? ## A slow taper is usually the best and safest way to stop, since an abrupt withdrawal could create the risk of seizures, according to the FDA, along with nausea, fever, chills, anxiety, rebound pain...

I have been on methadone for approx 3 months. I'm on 55mgs. I recently heard that suboxone was a much better way of life as an individual coming off opiates (suboxone gives more energy, more focused, kills cravings even when leaving your system) so I, like an idiot, bought 4 of these generic suboxone orange pills, thinking I could convert myself. The night I bought the pills I had taken my dose of methadone around 9am. I took half an orange pill, let it dissolve under my tongue around 9pm. I had a slight stomach ache then fell asleep. The next day I figured the methadone was fully out of my body & I took a whole pill and a half. By 9:30 I broke out in cold sweats. I tried sitting at my desk and began feeling terrible leg and joint pains. I was scheduled for work that day and had...

can you take these together ## I am prescribed to adderall 20 mg 3x daily, suboxone8/2 5x daily, and xanax 2 mg 5x daily! I am pretty sure its fine to take together otherwise I might be dead. I heard that taking xanax and suboxone together isnt good tho. ## If your doctor is aware of everything you are taking and still prescribed them together, and in addition your pharmacy filled them all without any warnings, then you have nothing to worry about. ## if your saying your on forty milagrams of suboxone that is way too much even by itself let alone with zanax. ## I agree I would try to cut down on the suboxone 2 maybe 8 to 16 milligrams a day and switch to klonopin vs xanax my doctor love xanax but I find the Klonopin works much better for me I don't have those mini panic attacks and ...
