Taking Tramadol With Oxycodone

My husband's medication ran out and he takes oxycodone 20mg. He went to see his pain management doctor and she ignored what he was explaining to her. Now he has no meds and is in excruciating pain. He wants to take tramadol but I am afraid it might harm him. What do I do? can I safely take 50mg tramadol with 40mg oxycontin? ## There is no way anyone here would be able to provide a reasonable answer to that questions. You should consult with your doctor to see if it is OK because everyone is different. That said: so long as you stick to the prescribed dosage of each, you *should* be OK. Are there any other medications you are currently taking, including over the counter medications or herbal medicine? Also, alcohol should be avoided while taking those medications. ## Don't mix anything with Tramadol. Especially narcotics. Never !! I dont care what anyone says dont do it. Hi, im Tk and i have been taking 15mg oxycodone for about 5 years at 4 to 6 a day and tramadol 300mg once a day for a neck surgery i had with fusion c6 c7. I have bad nerve damage in my right arm and alot of pain from both, plus have a metal plate for my right orbital. I work in a very heavy lifting job and going out on disability is not an option. I am still kinda young and dont wanna not be able to not work but i definitely push myself everyday. I broke my foot and I'm in severe pain. What I have is called a lisfranc fracture. I was on Tylenol threes and they didn't help and then I got hydrocodone 5 - 3 - 5 and they didn't help the last thing I tried was Oxycodone 5 325 and they still didn't really take the pain away. So I asked my doctor for something that would help the pain and he prescribed me Tramadol 50 mg. I am apprehensive to get it filled and try it because I'm not reading anything positive about it. I had been taking 150mg of tramadol and had only two 50mg of tramadol left so I took it with only 10mg of oxycodone. I need to know is it safe to take 100mg of tramadol with one 10mg of oxycodone? ## They are both classified as opiates, so you may experience more side effects than normal, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, dry mouth, and constipation. However, there could also be a risk of overdose, if you are not opiate tolerant. In the future, it would be best not to combine them, unless your doctor instructs you to do so. I have pain issues since I had surgery where I ended up with chronic pain. My Dr. Says she thinks it comes from adhesions and scar tissue and does not me to have any more surgery it was reccomeded that I go to a pain clinic which I do. They have given me prescriptions of one oxycodone 5-325 every morning and 50 mg tramadol four times a day as needed. How addictive are these?also if a person does have withdrawal ,what actually happens that you have to deal with?I don't know much about the different pain meds. I've been taking 10mg of oxycodone hcl per day for 2yrs; that down from 30mg 5yrs ago. Last visit to doctor, he wanted a UA. No prob til I was told it was going to be $150!!! I had a few left at home so I walked out. Now I'm out but I have 50mg tramadol.
