Taking Norco With Oxycodone

I have Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Second degree heart block, PE, Dvt's, Chronic Hypertension. I take a long list of meds Oxycodone 30mg for my pain releif. I recently went to the ER because I couldn't walk & I was diagnosed with Gout so the ER Dr. Prescribed me 8 norcos to take in between. I picked up my Oxycodone meds on the 14th & the 8 Norco on the 28th... It's time for my regular script but my pharmacists is saying it won't go through. I only go to the one pharmacy to get All my medications filled. ## Mary, Have you contacted your medical provider about this situation? I am having a second back surgery. The first time I was prescribed 10 mg Oxycodone Immediate REL Tabs every 4 hours. This time I am prescribed MS Contin 30 mg every 12 hours plus my regular medication of Norco 10-325 every 6 hours. Which is stronger the Oxycodone without the Norco or the MS Contin with Norco for surgical back pain relief. I regularly take on a daily basis Norco 10-325 every six hours prn, Metaxalone 800 mg 3x per day and Gabapentin 800 mg 3x per day. I will continue my regular prescriptions. Was on Norco 10-325 on and off for a few years due to back problems. Had l4/l5 Laminectomy and was sent home with 5mg oxicodone. It's been 16 days since surgery and I tapered down from 2.5 yesterday. Last one last night at 10 pm. Withdrawals kicked in at 2:30 pm today! Not too bad. But the abdominal pain is bad when the immodium wears off. I believe the norco is 5mgs like every 4 to 6 hours as needed. She was aware that I take the oxycodone 10 4 times a day this was added for break thru pain and to keep ahead of the pain went to get script filled she (pharmacist) informed me that she would have to call surgeon and pain doctor to clear to fill this med. I'm in unbearable pain. The pain doc already knew I had informed him that I was having surgery and wanted to let him know she may prescribe other pain meds being I'm on a contract I did not want to break he understood. Does norco 5/325 have the same ingredients as the little pink pill k56 which is oxycodone 10mg? My doctor switched me due to the strength. The k56 pills are stronger he said and i needed a weaker pill to be able to work. So he prescribed me the norco. Been taking Hydrocodone now for about 10 years for back injuries. They don't work very well for me anymore and was wondering if taking Subutex would be something to consider if they can help with the pain. I saw on here the difference between Endocet and oxycodone or Percocet. Well I have had scripts for both. If I could get Endocet I would take it over ANY other pain pill out there. I don't like to feel the rush of my meds. Then I enjoy them. I like to feel that my meds are working. There's a difference. I am basically allergic to everything but Endocet dilaudid and oxycodone. My question is this, I was having a very difficult time filling my legitimate 30mg oxycodone qty(120) prescription, I had an old prescription from my old pm dr. that was for 10mg oxycodone qty (98). I showed it to the pharmacist he told me it was no problem to fill, and that the only issue would be that insurance would not cover both. After looking everywhere I decided to go ahead and fill the 10"s and pay cash. I had surgery in May for disc replacement in C5 and C6 and was taking 10-325mg of Norco for pain, on October 12th I had a disc replaced in L5-S1 and my surgeon put me on 10-325mg of Percocet and Valium 10mg. Been taking painkillers ( vicodin, lortab, lorcet ((discontinued)), and Norco for many years. Skiing, motorcycles, etc. Whe I started the Norco, I got them from cvs. Found out that the ones manufactured by Malincrodt were completely ineffective when compared to the Watson product. My Doc has me on the pink k56 oxy now. I picked them up, reluctantly, from cvs because of the insurance Discount. Only able to get coverage for 90 although I had a prescription for 120. My pain from an old broken neck was not helped by Norco 10 so my doc prescribed oxycodone 15 mg 4x daily. It didn't help but I kept it up. After 3 weeks my pain level was much higher than it had ever been and I began having severe deep muscle seizure cramps which got worse and very serious. I was prescribed 90 30mg oxycodone and the same # of norcos 10/325 and xanax 2mg. May be moving to Florida. Will I have a hard time finding a doctor to keep me on the same pain meds, oxocodone 10mg? I have been on this now for 2 years & my heart and G.I. doctors know I take this prescribed by my primary doctor. I don't want to have to be put through the wringer for I didn't ask for this pain med. My primary changed it to this from norco due to the acetaminophen in my others meds.
