Are Methadone and Methadose the same thing? I am on Methadone right now, and I am tired of going to a clinic everyday. Can a doctor prescribe me Methadose once a month? Thanks ## Stay clean and in 1 year you'll be going 1 or 2 x week ## Methadose is the liquid form of methadone and in my state (OH) it's what is given at the clinics. You would have to check your local laws but generaly speaking methadone maintenance is only done at a federaly regulated clinic and not in a Dr office. Have you considered Suboxone? The laws governing that are not as strict and alot of Dr's can prescribe it although they do have to apply for the rights to prescribe it. ## Carrie is correct. Me and my boyfriend were taking 30 mg of methadone every day for a year or so, and decided to go the suboxone route. His Dr told him as long as he was taking 30 mg a day he was ok to dose... ha!!! Oh my god we got so sick, him more than me, we are now on our 4th day and I feel fine, actually just normal, don't feel medicated, but he still can't shake the sickness, he says he had no energy, sick to his stomach, anxiety,depression, I don't know what to do. He had tried taking a small about 2mg and still feels the same as when he takes 8mg. Could it still be the methadone? Is there any relief? We have kids and jobs we have to be here for. This is simple. I've been on suboxone for five years. I'm clean. I took opiates for thirty years. Methadone was the kinky way out and frankly doesn't work for the same reason subutex rarely works. You can still take opiates on top of both. Suboxone has a blocker. It is easy knowing you can't feel high. I still go to therapy and meetings. Beats being deaf. Good luck. ## Hello, Anfy! Can you take Subutex 10 hours after consuming methadone in the same day? ## Hello, Homer! How are you? As long as your doctor has approved it, then yes. Subutex does not contain the Naloxone, like Suboxone does, which would neutralize the Methadone that may cause dangerous precipitated withdrawals. I live in Colonia NJ and I'm currently going to a clinic to get methadone. The clinic is severely interfering with my daily life. Are there any private doctors in NJ that will prescribe Methadone? I'm not looking for a suboxone doctor. Thank you ## The Methadone addiction treatment laws actually fall under federal regulations and all of them require periodic clinic visits for the patients. Private doctors are actually not allowed to prescribe it for addiction treatment, because they can't provide the same supervision and do not have the same training those in the clinic setting do. Still going through withdrawal its not holding me throughout the day I'm still not sleeping well and I'm still throwing up and nauseaous all the time. I have to get up every morning at 4am to be there in time to get to work the line is so long but that's beside my point, My real question is Do you gain weight with Suboxone? Hi, I started going to a methadone clinic 3 months ago for opiate addiction. I am paying 98$ a week, well my sister is, bless her heart. I was wondering if this is the cheapest option for me? This includes the methadone which I am currently stable at 60mg a day. I took Methadone in the early '90s. It works in the same manner as Suboxone, by filling up your opioid receptors. I am inclined to believe it's a government plan to make this process permanent. With prolonged use, these drugs not only block your opioid receptors but may actually cause damage, rendering them non-functional. I quit using opioids in 1992, around six months after starting Methadone. It seems to me like the government is trying to "fix" us, I assure you of that. After six months of using an inhibitor, I no longer obtain relief from narcotics. The only thing that seems to help is Xanax.
