Methadone to subutex
I have been taking 30 ml of done for about a month. On tues I m switching to subutex. I was going to take my last dose of done Sunday then take nothing Monday. Go to the dr tues to start subutex. I know I will def be sick by then but want to make sure it's long enough cause I heard the horror story's of not waiting long enough. I've been a H, pill addict for about ten hears. I was on sub for about two years until last spring when I went to rehab. Got sober for a short period and f***ed up making a bad choice starting this cycle again. I think the 48 hours should be long enough. The dr actually said I could take my methadone dose mon but I m not taking the chance ## Since meth is long acting I would give it 2-3 days. ...

can u take subutex after taken 80mg of methadone
I would like to know cause I take methadone and I've got subutex that a friend gave me but I thought it might hurt me ## I know for certain never to take suboxone..I take 90 mg of methadone and done a quarter of suboxone and litrally died they brung me back but I still have side effects from that nite ## @loco, I have to concur with becca on the fact that it's probably not safe to use either of these drugs within at least a few days of each other. One counteracts the other so much that it could potentially put your body into a life-threatening state of withdrawal (if taken at the wrong time). I have seen testimonies from other people who accidentally attempted this and later paid the price. Apparently when your receptors are filled with methadone, buprenorphine may take the meth... ...

can u take subutex after using methadone for two days
I have been on about three quarters of generic subutex pills per day for over a year now. I ran out of subutex and took 40 mg of methadone the first day and 30 mg the next. I now have my subutex and I am wondering how long I should wait to take it... My husband had done this in the past were he only used the methadone a few days and switched right back to subutex the next day ( at least 24 after) . I just wanted to see if anyone else has had any experience with this. I do not want to be sick I've been through precipitated withdrawls before. TIA ## Subutex only contains the narcotic Buprenorphine, it doesn't contain the Naloxone that is in Suboxone, which would cause the precipitated withdrawals. This is a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side e... ...

can u take subutex with methadone
I have been taken about 60 mg of methedone a day for the last three day to come off of herion so I don't go thru withdrawl how long would I have to wait to take a subutext after the methedone ## Hi zach, To help answer your question, a lot of patients recommend having at least a 24 hour gap in between switching over to subutex. However this is only intended to be an estimate since each person may metabolize meds differently. If you start taking the subutex too early, you may not feel much from the buprenorphine right away, but others say that it should kick into gear as you continue treatment. Apparently when your receptors are filled with methadone, buprenorphine may take the methadone off of the receptors and cause precipitated withdrawal syndrome; whereas symptoms that are normal... ...

round white side with pill one m a how long must you wait b4 taking subutext after taking 4 10 mg of methadone
have taken 4 10 mg of methadone pills and want to know when i can start taking subutext. b4 that taking 80 mg of oxy's off and on for 3 mo hear you can get very sick with subboxone if taken too soon but with subutext it is different? hear you can take as soon as you go into withdrawl ## That is correct, Suboxone contains Buprenorphine and Naloxone, which counterats opiates and can make you go into withdrawals, the Subutex does not. That said, it is actually the Suboxone that you are supposed to wait until you are in withdrawals to take, so it doesn't cause you to go into them by neutralizing the other opiates you have taken can cause a bad reaction. Subutex is generally started immediately, in place of the narcotics someone is taking and then gradually tapered. Are you seeing a ... ...

Subutex Vs Methadone For Pain Control
I had an allergic reaction to a medicine that I was prescribed for migraines and on Easter of 2009 I literally died. I flat-lined 3 times and was in a coma for 18 days. Then out of the grace of god a doctor came into my room in the middle of the night and decided to try to Eckmo (sp:) machine on me. IT WORKED! Thank goodness I did wake up and although I had to learn to eat, walk, speak, etc. all over again. All of my organs are 100%. But I ended up with horrible drop foot on both feet and we don't know why, but also horrible bilateral neuropathy. I have been through so many surgeries just so that my feet would actually work so that I could walk again, however we can't seem to control the pain of the neuropathy, because we don't know how I got it. Anyway, I was on 50 mg of th... ...

subutex dr
I have been off the opiates for just over a year and lately due to stress I find myself wanting to deal with my issues by self medicating and used subutex to get clean. Suboxen gives me headaches so I need a dr in the oak ridge area who will prescribe subutex before I go down that addiction path again. I have so much going in my favor and don't want to lose all that I've worked to achieve. Please tell me where and who can help. ## Hi im going for a vacation for 3 months to thailand, right now im on subutex treatment and need prescription on subutex to take with me, i contacted some docter in thailand and they only got methadone , so could you help me with prescription for 3 months, my doctor will not write any recept for some reason i dont know ! my vacation will be broken if no... ...

what is the withdrawl like when your on methadone to subutex
Please be ware there is no explaining what will happen to you physically and mentally you will wish you where dead and you feel like your going to I was on 80mg of methadone for 1 month I did 1\4 of an ampuill it was the worst experience I don't think they put o the warning labels what happened but it was really BAD ## Hi Pat, Sorry to hear about what happened. Sounds like you had a pretty grueling experience there. And I can only imagine how concerned I would be too, without having any prior warning labels/interactions listed on the packaging to help make sense of what's going on. From what I've read, it's probably not safe to use either of these drugs within at least a week of each other. Taking subutex (buprenorphine) directly after methadone could potentially put you... ...

subutex pills
Was on methadone fir 3 months and I've been off of it fir 1 month but I've been doing other opiates to get me through the withdrawal. I'm looking into taking subutex and wanted to no if I can take one right away or do I have to wait 24hrs for the opiates to get out of my system. ## Hello, Tiny! How are you? Subutex only contains Buprenorphine, it does not contain the Naloxone that is in Suboxone to cause withdrawal, so it does not require the waiting period. This is a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What has your doctor advised? ## Have not spoke with a doctor regarding this matter. One more question, if I am on subutex for a couple days, do I have to wait to ... ...

taking 14mg subutex still have withdraw symptoms why?
Im on 14mg subutex now from 50mg of methadone.its my 7th day and still having w/d .when does it go away going up to16mg tomorrow hope it gets beter.r ## Hello, Rob! How are you doing? I'm sorry that you're miserable. Methadone is actually notorious for causing withdrawals and being very hard to get off of, even if replaced with something else. That's why many people treated with it for addiction end up on a lifetime maintenance dose and never become totally drug free. Some people have been successful using Suboxone to leave it behind, but it can still be tough. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. How are you doing on the 16mg dosage? ...

Find a Subutex DR.
My husband was taking methadone for over 5yrs for pain he lost a part of his finger.Well suddenly his dr decided he was nolonger going to prescribe narcotics to any of his paitients we live in IN. and are looking for a Dr. that is willing to prescribe subutex instead of suboxone we don't like the side effects of the suboxone. If anyone can help it will be appreciated it he is so miserable. ## Hi, Sorry I don't live in IN. But this is my suggestion just find any MD. Tell him what has happened and that he can't take suboxone maybe it gives him terrible head aches? It did me!! Some will write subutex here in Alabama and they are suboxone drs. I told a suboxone Dr. That I couldn't afford suboxone and if I didn't have something that it would just be cheaper for me to get ... ...

WHICH IS BETTER???? I have been on a dose of 150mg of Methadone for approx. 8 or so years. I just recently heard of this drug Buprenorphine which is taken instead of Methadone. Does anyone know if this line of treatment is better or worse than Methadone treatment for Opiate Addicts such as myself????? Thank You Very Much Wendell Maddox ## I used to be addicted to oxycontins, I started taking methadone but figured it wasnt any better for me than the oxy's. The buprenorphine is probably a better way for you to go. I am now on suboxone. They started me off with a med called subutex and you take it for the first three days and then they switch you to suboxone they are two different meds. One blocks only one receptor and the other blocks both. To get high, you need these two receptors to... ...

subutex suboxone
Surely I'm not the only person reading in shock and disbelief,How is it that so many people are unaware of the basic facts and information regarding bup,I am reading in horror that woman are trying to detox during pregnancy ,that is the worst option it is risking both lives,i also read a question regarding the effectiveness of mixing bup with methadone, anyone using these meds should know it causes withdrawals, that's the point of bup,i feel lucky to have drug treatment services that are free but able to stand along what is provided to private patients .Its horrible to think of pregnant woman on bup having to come onhere to ask for info and not telling their dr in fear of judgement or welfare, what is up with a woman thinking its an option to detox at five mnths preg, how doesn'... ...

is suboxone or methadone better?
hi i'm a 29 yr old male with chron's disease and a very high tolerance to pain relief and i was just wondering if subutex/suboxone was better than the methadone for pain management i have been on 20mg of oxys twice a day for about 6 months and they only work when i double dose or boot em up and now the doctors are talkin about putting me on the beup or methadone program and i'm not sure which one has more merit if ya know what i mean lol ## The Buprenorphine in the Suboxone is stronger and doesn't have the same addictive tendencies that the Methadone does. People who no longer need it for pain, or addiction treatment, often have better luck tapering off and becoming medication free, as compared to Methadone, where they often require a lifetime maintenance dose. The withd... ...

I am currently 8 months preg. Throughout preg. Dropped from 8mg subutex to 1-2 mg daily and spoke to hospital doc and OB hosp. Doc said I can stop if I feel comfortable since im on such low dose. Day 2 no subutex minor fatigue, chills but overall fine mostly mental...trying to avoid a DSS visit in hospital when baby delivered hope sub is out of system within nxt 6 weeks. ## Congratulations on the baby and I hope this continues to go well for you. pain drs in mobile write methadone
hello, I have.been on methadone for ten years and allergic to suboxone so I need to find a Dr. that writes for methadone for painccan't afford clinic anymore. ## Hello, Kim! How are you? I'm sorry, but if you've been going to an addiction/maintenance clinic, then that is your only option. It is illegal for regular doctors to prescribe it for that. Even if you need it for pain, the fact that you went to the clinic is in your medical records, so no one will be able to prescribe Methadone for you. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What are you allergic to in Suboxone? Have you ever tried Subutex? ## Thanks for ur reply and I have talked to two d... ...

methodone to subutex
I'm on 100 mg of methodone and im thinking of switching to subut ex ! What is the side affects I have heard so many diff. Stuff so could u plz help me ## Hello, Dawn! How are you? Subutex carries the risk of causing the same side effects as Methadone and other opiate narcotics. The active ingredient in it is Buprenorphine, so it can also be habit forming and cause dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, depression and constipation. The difference is that is isn't known to cause the withdrawals that are as severe as those of Methadone, nor to cause cravings. So, unlike Methadone treatment, where people usually end up on a lifetime maintenance dose of it, those who take Subutex or Suboxone usually end up eventually becoming entirely drug free. Are there any other questions or concerns? ...
