I am wondering if anybody else out there has taken Hydrocodone and noticed that symptoms of depression are alleviated? I find that many of today's anti-anxiety and antidepressant drugs come with unpleasant side effects, whereas while taking Hydrocodone they aren't there. The caveat to all of this is that yes, I know that Hydrocodone and opiates in general can be addictive. So long term use would result in withdrawal symptoms. I'm just wondering who else might agree with me on this? ## I have taken dozens of antidepressants as well as been prescribed antipsycotics and other meds for off-label usage, and nothing has worked effectively over the past 15 years. I will take hydrocodone for a chronic pain condition, and, YES, oh my goodness, YES, it seems to make me immune to a dep...

Hello I just found this forum, and first I want to say I have taken Klonopin 1 mg a day for 20 years for my anxiety disorder. 9 years ago after a c-section I became dependent on Hydrocodone. Recently I have tapered down to only 1 to 2 a day and have been trying so hard to quit. Anyways, I was rx'ed some 5mg Suboxone pills. For a few days I have taken just a little of the pill, maybe 1mg of it gets me through the day, but after researching it I am worried. I was going to go back to the doctor to see if they would give me those to stop the Hydrocodone dependence. But there is no way I could ever stop the Klonopin. I would rather be dependent on it than go through my monstrous panic attacks. Would these small doses be safe together? 1mg Klonopin and 1 (maybe 1.5) mg Suboxone? There is ...

I was taking 5-6 10/325 percocet a day and my new dr gave me 90 1 3xs a day but I'm having trouble so was taking a percocet then 4 hrs later a norco and alternating like that today. Is it safe to take a percocet then a norco until the withdrawal gets better? ## Hello, Sherryl! How are you? The main concern here is the amount of Acetaminophen you are ingesting each day, more than the opiates, as hard as that may be to believe. In theory, you should still be within limits, which the FDA lists as being 3,000mgs a day, but it is always best to extra careful and not do this, unless your doctor approves. What type of withdrawal symptoms are you experiencing? The NIH lists them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, fever, chills, rebound pain, anxiety, depression, and diarrhea.

I had extremely high blood pressure so my doctor put me on an extra blood pressure pill. I'm already taking losartan potassium and Metoprolol. this new one I can't remember the name, but it's something like Triamterene and Hydrochlorothiazide in combination. I've been on it for 2 weeks, feeling very light headed recently, feeling terrible, I have no energy and extreme anxiety. I've been taking two Hydrocodone tens for hip pain for some months now and my blood pressure today was down from 150 / 110 to 90 / 60. I'm freezing and shaky and have high anxiety. I'm a 57-year-old male. My doctor told me to drink a couple Gatorades and some chicken soup because I can't afford to go to the emergency room. I need to quit taking all but my Metoprolol until my blood p...

I have Osteoarthritis, it causes me pain, usually in the evenings. My VA Dr. just cut me off period. I am at my wits end over this and might mention I suffer from PTSD. This is causing me a great deal of Anxiety, and I don't know what the Hxxx to do. If I don't take them I am up most of the night walking the floor. At times I have massaged my legs so vigorously, I have bruised myself. It is also causing my wife a great deal of stress. I wear compression sleeves as well on my feet, calves, knees, thighs and hands. I was on the Lowest dose. but it helped. I am Alcoholic, but have been sober for years. My wife feels that unless I can get my Hydros back, I will return to drinking, which I do not want to do. What are my options? I have tried every cream, gel and ointment I can find. ...

I have used hydrocodone for more than 15 yrs, due to lupus and fibromyalgia. I want to get off it and was wondering: if I go into detox, will they then put me on drug replacement therapy? I take 30-40 mg of hydro./day (3-4 Norco) but I don't go buy pills or dr. shop - that is my RX ## I would recomend cymbalta it works for depression anxiety and fibromyalgia. So it works for the pain strangley enough and puts you in a good mood not like other antidepresants. I would recomend to keep some of the norcos or a lesser narcotic for breakthrough pain for say the morning or night when the pain is at it's worst. ## I've been taking them for 12 years due to lower back pain and pain from Multiple Sclerosis. I take between 30 and 40 mg ( Norco 10/325) but I am more concerned about the T...

in error earlier i took 1 10mg diazepam & now find out that i am supposed to be taking hydrocodone/apap 10mg/500mg will this make a problem?? ## If you took them together, you may experience worsened side effects, such as nausea, drowsiness and dizziness. However, if not and you just move on with taking the correct medication, there should not be a problem. They are two completely different medications, though, so I am curious as to how you mixed them up? The Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen is a narcotic pain reliever, commonly referred to by the brand name Vicodin. And the Diazepam, better known as Valium, is a Benzodiazepine used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders.

I suffer from cervical stenosis and severe back pain that may require surgery. I am also suffering from a mental illness/deep depression/anxiety. I take several meds for the latter. I had been prescribed hydrocodone 5/325 every six hours, and that worked great for my pain, and I didn't sleepy. Now since changing Pain Mgmt Specialist, he prescribes OxyContin 10mg 2x a day, and this makes me so sleepy, especially with all of my other medications. This new doctor said hydrocodone was not good to take with my mental illness, but he gives me OxyContin? I don't get it, clearly the OxyContin is worse for me if I'm sleepy all the time, at least I could function and stay awake on hydrocodone. I don't know what to do, my physiatrist has even written a letter stating the hydrocodon...

I've been taking Tylenol 4 for a little while and I've noticed if I don't take my anxiety medication with it my body doesn't feel right I feel like it's on fire plus I'm very nervous. But when I would take hydrocodone 10-325 I wouldn't feel this way. I was wanting to ask is there a difference in hydrocodone and Tylenol 4? For me to feel so differently. ## Hello, Missy! How are you? Yes, they do contain different opiates. Tylenol 4 contains Acetaminophen and Codeine, but the other medication is a generic for Norco and it contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. I have documentation that I was on these meds before. I was on 30mg oxycodone 3x daily, 10mg hydrocodone 4x daily, 30mg adderall twice daily, and 2mg Xanax 4x daily. My doctor was just getting too expensive, does anyone know any doctor around the chicago area that is easy going when it comes to prescribing meds? Thanks so much I just don't want to see a doctor and just walk out with ibuprofen for example. Thanks ## Hello, Mike! How are you? There are no doctors that are easy going about prescribing such medications, anymore. New regulations were put in place last year, which they must abide by, or they risk losing their license to practice medicine. If you require these medications on a long-term ongoing basis for the treatment of chronic pain, you'll need to see specialists to ...
