Taking 5 Subutex

I have the relatively new generic for subutex. It's round and white with the numbers 54 411 on one side and blank on the other. I was wondering if u ingest this sublingual like the original or if u swallow it. Please let me know. ## This is an 8mg Buprenorphine tablet, the active ingredient in Subutex and yes, it is meant to be used sublingually. Hi my name is Chloe. I have been on a script now for just over a year. was on methadone. But now am on subutex. Im abit worried as you are meant to let subutex dissolve under your tongue. But I have never been able to do that as I gag and throw up. I crunch them with the front of my teeth and swallow very quickly with water. Can this cause me problems coming off subutex or cause me harm inside my tummy? I was on 6mg 3 tablets daily now im on 2mg 1 tablet daily. I've been taking methadone for 10 years, I recently ran out of my prescription. Is it safe to take subutex or will it send me into withdrawals? ## Hello, Lucy! How are you? You have to be in full withdrawals, before taking the Subutex. It contains the opiate Buprenorphine and it tends to cling to the opiate receptors very strongly and will displace most others, throwing you into precipitated withdrawals, which can be dangerous. Hi all, I am 39, male and am going to take 8 MG's Subutex after being on methadone for 4 years (I'm just over it, tired) 60 MG's next day took 30 MG's next day took 20mgs and finally 10 MG's to taper a bit. I then waited 43 hours and am in moderate withdrawal. I have been in much worse withdrawal then now but decided to go ahead with 8 MG's of sub now to see, lab rat style, if I precip or get relief. There seem to be many different experiences, some say 24 hours some say 72. I will try to give an update if I precip and will for sure if I don't. Fingers crossed, I hope its the latter. Been taking Hydrocodone now for about 10 years for back injuries. They don't work very well for me anymore and was wondering if taking Subutex would be something to consider if they can help with the pain. I have been taking subutex for about 7months now , before that I took suboxone for 2 yrs . I like the subutex a lot better not near as groggy and less headaches. I have been very careful about not getting pregnant and somehow it happened . I take half of an 8mg tablet 3 times a day but here recently since being pregnant it doesn't seem to be working as well , I realize I have a lot of extra blood flow and am assuming that's probably why. Also everytime I go to put them under my tounge within 2-4 mins the morning sickness kicks in and I throw everything up including the majority of the pill . Well it's 9 days till I get my next refill and I'm out and I don't know what to do. Should I call my Dr to see if I can refill early or what ? I guess I'm just afraid to ask ...

I have been off the opiates for just over a year and lately due to stress I find myself wanting to deal with my issues by self medicating and used subutex to get clean. A friend of mine told me her pharmacy told her they were going to be only getting the small round generic subutex tablets. I have always gotten the big ones. My doctor just put me on subutex along with percocet. I've been on percocet for yrs for severe and chronic migraines. He told me to take the subutex and if it doesn't work to take a percocet. Can I have a tooth extracted if I'm using subutex? Will the local anaesthetic still work okay? Regards, Dave ## It should, since there is nothing in Subutex to neutralize it. The anesthetic used by dentists is not a narcotic and the Subutex doesn't contain Naloxone, anyway. However, I'd suggest making sure the dentist knows you're taking it, just to be on the safe side. I've seen that people in the USA have started to get the new 8mg tablets which are smaller than the old 8mg one's and these were introduced in England as the old tablets were being abused. So they made the new pill smaller believing it would dissolve quicker but they were easier to hide and people had more risk of OD.
