How long is the interval for 3 x a day be? ## Hi Maureen, If you're to take one pill 3 times a day, the best advice I can offer is that you divide 24 (hours in day) by 3. This would equate to taking one pill every 8 hours. I hope this makes sense! Please post back if you have any other questions or comments regarding this. ## 3 TAB A DAY, OF LEVETIRACETA 1000MG. HE WOULD LIKE TO SPREAD THEM OUT. ## Not true. That's every 8 hours. When it's 3 times a day you take 3 times during the day. You don't have to wake up or take it around the clock.only if it says every 8 hours. So what times are best for you. I take mine morning, lunch, and dinner. ## This is the most intelligent, well-explained answer to this question that I've ever come across. My Dr was not able to tell me...

I am taking DOXYCYCLINE HYCLATE it says one pill twice a day for ten days, but what would happen if I took three a day instead l? ## Hello, MermaidGirl! How are you? This is an antibiotic, so the amount in your body needs to remain consistent for the duration of treatment, in order to eradicate the bacteria. Thus, you should take it twice a day, as prescribed. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

How are you? You can just start taking 2 a day, unless your doctor instructs otherwise, there is no harm from taking less, but you may have experienced more pain than if you'd been taking two. The FDA classifies this medication as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. I am taking macaroot and vitex it says take one pill three times a day but I always forget can I take all three at once Or is that really bad? If i do it what kind of results could it have? ## @Dominique, From your description I get the sense that it may be best to continue trying to adhere to the dosing guidelines listed on the packaging, since that's probably how you optimize its effectiveness. However, from my own understanding it may also depend on what dose you're taking. Reason I say that is because Vitex reportedly comes in dosage forms of up to 400mg and the average dose of maca is listed at 1,000mg to 2,000mg. My theory is that if you fall within these parameters then it's still considered a "normal" dose, whether taken all at once or divided throughout the ...

I'M TAKING CYCLOBENZAPR 10MG TAKE 1 TABLET 3 TIMES A DAY AS NEEDED. NOW IF MY PAIN GETS WORSE BEFORE MY MED IS DO CAN I TAKE ONE EARLIER ## Hello, Tony! How are you? No, you shouldn't take it earlier than the prescribed dosing schedule. This isn't an analgesic, anyway, so it really won't help with pain like that. The FDA classifies this as a muscle relaxant, so it helps relieve the pain associated with strains, sprains and spasms. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. If you need something else for pain, you should speak to your doctor about what you can take. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was prescribed Norco 5/325 1 pill 3 times a day as needed but the script was only for 60 pills. is that considered a month supply or 20 day supply? ## Hello, Lori! How are you? It would be best to check with your pharmacy, but it was most likely intended as a 30 day supply, since it's only to be taken as needed. Your doctor likely believes there are days when you won't need to take 3. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. When taking prescribed antibiotics and the dosage is 1 pill twice a day, how many hours should before the next dosage? ## Hi Dman, Based on a 24 hour time scale, if you're required to take 1 pill twice daily, that "generally" means taking 1 pill every twelve hours. However I would recommend double checking this with your doctor first, in case he or she has special instructions for your individual case. I have been on oxycodone 30 mg 4 times a day for years and it seems not to be working as well. Should it be ok to ask my Dr to up my amount taken daily? ## There are higher doses that your doctor can prescribe, though they likely won't direct you to take it more frequently throughout the day. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. There is also a time released formulation that you can try, if your doctor approves, it is available under the name brand Oxycontin. Are you on any other medications?

I am on an antibiotic for herpes. The instructions say to take one pill 5 times per day. Do I need to wake up at night to take it? I can only take it during the day between 5 am and 9 pm. ## Hi Patty - Exactly which medication have you been prescribed? To answer your question, no, you should not have to wake up to take a dose unless is specifically says so in the instructions given to you. Otherwise, you can space the 5 doses among the hours that you are awake. So, if you are awake from 5 am to 9 pm, that is 16 hours of being awake. 16 hours / 5 doses = one dose approximately every 3 hours or so. Do the instructions say that it can be taken with or without food? I hope this helps and best wishes!
