I am having pain in my tailbone and left buttock while sitting. The X-ray plates show 'lumbar lordosis lost'. I have been to an orthopaedic surgeon who advised me to take hot sitting and Hifenac - MR. along with an antacid. Please advise. ## Hello, Guatam! How are you doing? What problem do you have with the medications that you were advised to take? A doctor is the person best qualified to evaluate your medical condition and to let you know what your treatment options are, if any, and to prescribe the proper medications. The lumbar lordosis is the arch of your lower spine, where it curves inwards, just above your buttocks. Losing that would probably cause the type of pain that you're experiencing, because it's pressing on the nerves in your spinal column in an unusual w...

moved to milw 8 months ago. have re-injured tailbone which was cracked few years ago. need pain meds and don't want to go through all the crazy tests (paying my own bills self employed) any clue? ## Hi, Lynn! Sorry about the pain that you're in, I really hate to see anyone miserable. However, it isn't likely that you're going to find a doctor to just prescribe you medications, without wanting you to have tests done, as well. Due to the new regulations that have been put in place, they must have a valid reason for prescribing such medications, if they don't, they risk losing their license to practice medicine. The best suggestion I can make is to contact your local hospital and ask them to connect you with their social work department. In many cases, they have lists o...

Hey forum members! I have read on this website a lot o er the past 5 years but now I am finally writing my own post ...Well let me start by saying I broke my tailbone 5 years ago (when I was 18) and it took a whole year of getting xrays (with no diagnosis because they could not see the fracture) , until they ordered me and MRI which did in fact show the fracture! I was diagnosed with a NON - HEALING fracture in my coccyx and ha e been on percocets (5mg-325) up to 6 a day ever since! As you all know with chronic pain you have your good days and bad! The pain medicine only takes away maybe 60-80% of the pain at times, and its what I would describe as excruciating ...sharp....throbbing and aching...sore...just hurts all the time!! Its the worst thing I've ever gone through!!! Well toda...

I am a chronic pain suffer. Had spinal fusion in 12/72 L4 thru S1 are or were fused solid. Old style fusion massive bone build up huge triangle just above my tail bone. As fine did great no Dr no meds no nothing until I fell on my button 2/88. All Hell has broke loose. My pain has gone crazy. Gets worse and worse and finding help is getting next to impossible. The original fusion was the results of the Vietnam war injury. I finally broke down and went to the local VA hospital. After being on methadone and Oxycodone for over 8 years the Dr there scared me to death. Tells me methadone on its own for no unknown reason can stop your heart! If you are lucky you wake up in 10 minutes if your not somebody finds you after the fact. So I stop the methadone and Oxycodone she puts me on moriphine ...

I've been taking 50mg Tramadol, recommended as a "safe" long term medication for my Tail bone pain. Recently given sample pack of green and yellow Tramadol capsules. My heart feels weird with some light pains, Could the yellow/green Tramadol be fake or ingredients differ from the white tablets ? ## Hi Lucy! Anytime you feel like something may be affecting your heart, you should have it checked out by a doctor immediately. While there's a good chance that it's nothing, the risk of it being something dangerous is far too great to be posting on a free website and waiting for an answer. It is most likely some gas or acidity from the capsules, they probably contain some different inactive ingredients than the tablets, but I really can't stress enough how important it ...

I have been on Hydrocodone for 12 yrs.now and it just isn't strong enough to kill the pain any more. My pain management doctor does not have the credentials to even prescribe a schedule III, such as Oxycodone or Morphine. I have a fractured tailbone that never healed properly and experience severe muscle and nerve pain in the lower back shooting down my leg every day. I only want to be able to function. It is a fight just to get out of bed. For various reasons I suffer severe pain related to: Spinal Stenosis, herniated disc in cervical spine, previous broken tailbone. I have previously tried, Oxycontin, Hydrocodone, but now am on Fentanyl patch along with Neurontin. These only control about 50% of pain and have often "breakthrough" pain that is nearly unbearable. A friend recommended Methodone to add to these meds. Can anyone tell me if it would help? Also, would it be risky as far as overdosing? I have a really high tolorance to opiates. ## In most cases, Methadone wouldn't be advised, because it is very addictive and habit forming. In most cases for breakthrough pain, an instant release medication would be used, such as Oxy IR, which is available as a generic, or MS IR, which is an instant release morphine th...

I recently was thrown from my horse and have pretty bad pain. My tailbone was broken in three places. I no longer have a script for pain but a friend of mine gave me a couple of pain pills that are different. One says Watson 853 on it and the other looks the same (oblong white) but it has #176 on it. What is the difference? ## Hi Priscilla, I would just like to inform you that not only do you take on a huge risk by taking medication that may not work for you there are federal and state laws that make sharing prescribed medication illegal. I would strongly advise not taking any more medication given to you by anyone. Here is some information on the pills you mentioned. The pills labeled Watson 853 and 176 both contain the active ingredients Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone (325 mg/ 10mg) bu...

How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these medications, but it's always best to double check to be sure. The FDA classifies Prednisone as a steroid, which may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizzies, headache, nervousness and irritability. The side effects of this antibiotic may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Hydrocodone with Apap is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is t...

Hi, I was prescribed meloxicam for my tailbone pain. I took one 7.5mg dose and that gave me the worst panic attack. I am not taking it anymore but i still feel very anxious and I am not myself anymore. It has been 5 days since i took the dose. Will this take time to go away? Do I need any other treatments for these side effects? ## It has been known to cause anxiety/panic attacks, in some people that take it, according to FDA reports, but it is very rare. It is also very unusual for it to linger that long after having taken just one dose. Its other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation. Have things improved, yet? Are you on any other medications? ## It's a lot better now but I still have anxiety ...

I have been taking pain pills for 7 years. I detoxed myself off Methadone and I almost had a heart attack. I started using when I was 23. I hurt my back, broke my tail bone, then at 25 I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Now at 28, 13 surgeries later I'm addicted. I want my life back. I did detox myself once and for 6 months I was clean. The pain associated with detoxing was horrible. My chest hurt, my heart hurt, my legs, back, neck you name it. I have an enlarged kidney and I had a kidney stone that had to be surgically removed. That's all she wrote. I am a single mother trying to make it in this world. I have fought to save my life. At 21 I contracted an infection from a hospital after giving birth to my son. 8 days on IV antibiotics saved me, only 3% of people survive what ...
