I have been prescribed Meloxicam 15 mg once daily for inner ear pain/inflammation (take 2 daily for 7 days, then 1 daily for 7 days). So, 2 weeks altogether (21 tablets). Should I be okay with no side effects? The only thing I have is GERD. But, I am worried about when, if any, side effects will appear. Also, is this medicine right for inner ear inflammation? ## Hello, Casper! How are you? All medications carry the risk of causing side effects, even if you're only taking them for a short period of time. The FDA lists the typical side effects for this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. If you have GERD, it may aggravate it. Are you on an antacid to treat it? And yes, Meloxicam can be used to treat inflammat...

My mother has a prescription that reads TAKE 1 TABLET UP TO 4-5 TIMES DAILY for 60 pills. The pharmacy said this is for a 15 day supply but she has to take 5 tablets a day which is a 12 days supply and not a 14 day supply like the doctor has prescribed her? Then she is told that it is technically a day early? Why is this pharmacy doing this? ## Hello, Panama! How are you? It's not the pharmacy that's doing it, that's the way the doctor wrote it. Being written that she can take up 4 to 5 tablets daily, generally means that the doctor isn't expecting her to need to take 5 tablets each day, there are some days they expect her to need less than that. It's normal for any medication that's written to be taken on an 'as needed' basis. If the doctor meant for her...

My doctor prescribed Etoshine tablets for my spinal pain, my C5 and C6 are bulged. Is this medicine the only pain killer or cure for the disease? Please advise as I am very confused and in a lot of pain. ## This is a Cox2 Inhibitor, meaning it basically works a powerful anti-inflammatory and is commonly prescribed for these types of conditions. Most herniated discs clear up by themselves over time, your doctor is trying to get the inflammation to go down, so they will slip back where they belong. ## Complete cure is sometimes could not possible. This depends on your age. In the earlier stage of the problem, this medicine helps to cure along with someother precaustions (like physio theropy, excercises, yoga). If the problem is a chronic one chances are less. ## DR PRESCRIBED ETOSHINE 120...

Hi, My father is on bed rest since 1 year due to fitts. His Dr. suggested to take Nervijen with some physio. theraphy. I want to confirm whether this will help him to walk like earlier since he's just 70 yrs old. ## Nervijen is a multivitamin supplement, with a complex of B vitamins. It is often given to people that suffer from nerve pain and problems, because a deficiency in these nutrients has been shown to contribute to these types of problems. However, as to it helping him walk or how much it will help at all, it is really difficult to say. Everyone can respond to things differently, some people have gotten great results from using this and some haven't. I was prescribed 60mg Morphine ER twice a day with 10mg norco up to 6 tablets a day for 2.5 years. I always took it as prescribed never asked for early prescriptions. A few months ago my rheumatologist sent me to a pain dr for management because he said I am too young (35) to be on this many narcotics. The new dr is super nice and you can tell he wants to medicate me to manage my pain but has changed my medication around all over the place to doses that are too low or medications that don't work or cause side effects. I was managed on the morphine and norco and told him I didn't need him to change anything but to just give me a new rx. Because of the DEA and FDA he wanted to see if there were medications that would help that aren't as controlled by the DEA. Because of the ag...
