I was a perfectly healthy 14 year old until I grew very tired and went to see a doctor. We got blood work done & my tsh level was 150 (very bad) so my endocrine put me on 88mcg of levo. Im a little over a month into taking it and I've become very short of breath, having trouble excersising and today I fainted. I felt really nauseous and within 1 minute I passed out. Has anyone else experienced this?? I don't think it's normal but I'm curious if or how they fixed it. thanks ## I've been on 100mcg once daily and never experienced any side effects at all that I've noticed except sweating profusely so if I was you I'd consult your doctor or pharmacist and explain to them what you're experiencing an let them know if it's anything to do with the levo or...

Would the combination of either of these medications cause fainting? I now take 5 mg of Abilify per day. I took my last pill of 100 mg fluconazole on yesterday ; also took a 3.50mg of remeron last night.. This morning I stared the 4mg of cyproheptadine. by the afternoon I fainted. I have not been eating as I should. I am very concerned now. I am now taken off of remeron, but will continue the Abilify and Cyproheptadine. ## Hi, Keanna! Sorry that you fainted. If you haven't been eating properly, that's the culprit you should probably look at first. If you're not eating properly and taking medications, especially the Abilify, which is a very strong one, then it tends to cause more pronounced side effects. Only your doctor can check you over and tell you for sure what has cause...

I took a Metformin ER 500mg today for the first time but I cut it in half because I didn't know that I wasn't supposed to. I took the first half and then saw that I was supposed to take it whole so I took the other half. I'm just wondering if I'm in any danger? ## Since it is time released tablet, you could get too much of the medication at once, so you will need to watch for the signs of low blood sugar, which could include: dizziness, drowsiness, tremors and fainting. You may want to make sure you have something sweet on hand that can bring it up, fast, such as a small glass or orange juice and then, when feeling better, a sandwich or something to help keep it up longer. Are there any other questions? ## how long / how many hours does metformin ER act? ## AJJAx, they s...

Dear All, I have noticed that, some of the comments are specifically directed to medications that someone is mentioning "cure your pathology". Let me explain something first. For all those persons taking medications for high blood pressure. "The medications you are taking regardless brand name, is not curing your pathology. As your primary doctors call it "they are only controlling your blood pressure". Means; they are giving you a medication to make your heart work a little slower. So as you can see you are not getting medication to get cure. Also, medications to control high blood pressure, regardless brand name has a secondary side effects, such as: feeling light-headed, fainting; urinating more or less than usual, or not at all; fever, chills, body aches, flu sym...

My Neurologist gave me Amantadine for Fibfromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, he said this would give me energy, but I am sleeping 16 hours a day. Is this normal? Can I take an over the counter energy pill to help me give me the energy I need? How long can I expect to wait for the side effects subside and the energy I need to function in life? ## I am not aware of it being used for such, nor is it an approved use listed by the FDA. They actually list its typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, and drowsiness. Looking over the other listed side effects, such as mental depression, fainting, memory loss, stupor, anxiety... well, I really can't see how he expects it to give you energy. Everyone is different, so there is always the possibility it may cause the opposite ...

A cardiologist started me on Isosorbide Mononitrate after I had a few small heart attacks, before starting me on this , I needed nitrostat and the nurse took 40 minutes to bring it, my troponin levels kept increasing, so I've been taking it for over 3 years now, when I started - it took about a month for the headaches to quit, and when sitting - get up slowly and try not to bend over, crouch down using your knees and hold on the the back of a sturdy chair, getting up fast or bending over as to pick something up off the floor, resulted in a headache or a fainting feeling even 3 years later, my cardiologist said it was a normal side effect, the card nurse had the cardiologist use nitro paste on my chest at first , that day shift nurse that made me wait for nitro was getting even for me t

I have been taking Forteo for 5 days. I am light headed, feeling of drunkenness, shaky, headaches, nauseous, disoriented, and some blurred vision daily. My doctors office was closed on Friday and at this point I'm scared and not sure to continue taking or not. ## The symptoms that you are describing are all listed as known side effects for forteo. They should only last for around 4 hours, however, they also state that if you experience fainting, unusual tiredness or mental/mood changes such as confusion then you should head to the emergency room as these are serious conditions that need immediate attention. ## From what I read on Medline Plus, nausea is one of the more serious side effects. I don't know about discontinuing use, but I would report what you are experiencing to you...

What would be the best medicine for someone with very low bloodpressure ## Hello, Sam! How are you? There is no specific medication that is best for everyone that may have low blood pressure, it depends on what's causing it, what symptoms they are having if any, their overall health, other medications they may be taking and etc. as explained by the NIH. The biggest issue would be if the low blood pressure is causing symptoms, such as fainting, dizziness and etc., or it is due to some underlying medical condition that requires treatment. If there are no dangerous symptoms and if it is just natural for the person to be low, then no treatment may be necessary. However, if they are having problems, correcting the underlying condition that's causing it, if there is one, such as dehyd...

My previously "no problem, small-dose aspirin", A-fib has become a problem; increasing, intensifying episodes of what my Dr. says is Paroxysmal A-fib, with weakness, fainting, sweating, trouble breathing. He prescribed this medication, taken one-half tab twice a day. I used to have low blood pressure but it's been normal, sometimes high, lately. I also have D.I.P., Fibromyalgia, take Tramadol & Klonapin. ## It is normal for your blood pressure to go up, when something is causing your heart to work harder than usual, so the changes you've experienced aren't surprising, though they do need to be carefully controlled. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, hair loss, and hypot...

117/71 pulse 69. Female 64 is this normal? ## Hello, Jilly! How are you? Yes, those are normal numbers. Unless she is having symptoms, in which case her doctor should be consulted. As listed by the NIH, if she's experiencing dizziness, severe drowsiness, weakness, shortness of breath or fainting, then a doctor needs to evaluate her. Is there anything else I can help with?

Age 88 female with pacemaker, has bp of 130 /50... Is low diastolic a problem?? Meds are 40 mg Micardis and twice a day of 5 mg Plendil. Has sciatic nerve problem. Taking .5 mg of clonazepam nightly to sleep. ## It really depends on whether or not it is causing you any symptoms, according to the NIH, such as dizziness, headache, or fainting. Are you experiencing any such symptoms? I also take blood pressure medications and my cardiologist told me that there was no need to worry, unless you are experiencing such problematic symptoms.

Hi, Last Christmas 12/2012 i fainted in a store and went to my GP because well fainting in a store. After ordering some tests thyroid panel (normal), sugar test (not diabetic), cholesterol (less than 150). He sent me to a cardiologist after seeing something slightly off kilter (something on the left axis?) The cardiologist said it was within normal but did prescribe Metoprolol 25mg tartrate 2x a day. He also said to eat a bag of chips on occasion, increase my salt intake and drink caffiene. My questions are: 1. is it normal to prescribe it to a person with low blood pressure Nov 28, 2012 it was 114/99 (i had a cold when this was taken) to 113/59 on Mar 23, 2013. 2. why would he prescribe this when it is normally used for people with high blood pressure? 3.
