For over 10 years, I took 820 mg. morphine sulfate ER daily to manage chronic pain, trigeminal neuralgy and osteomyelitis in my jaw...(yes, I know that is spelled wrong, but don't want to take the time to look it up right now) Anyhow, about 1 1/2 years ago I started tapering myself off of it, one, because of the costs...astronomical, ridiculous, really..and for the last 6 months or so have been taking either 15/30 mg. regular release morphine every 4 hours. When I called my doctor to get an appt. for refills, the soonest appt. is 17 days away and I've only got about 1 week of medication left. I still have 200 mg. ER morphine left, but I don't want to accidentally overdose...do I still have a higher tolerance from being on it for so many years? ## Old mom The best and safest ...

I have been taking brand name Avapro for years, but now that it has gone generic Theexpense has become astronomical. Thinking about going generic ...however worried about side effects. Any generic version I should be aware of? I am so leary of generics and the fillers and overseas manufacturers. ## Hi Henrietta, Based on my research Avapro made by Solco healthcare U.S. is based out of Cranbury, New Jersey. It appears that this is where their headquarters is located according to the company's webpage. You are right though about generics being a little iffy when it comes to the fillers and side effects. However there's really no way to know for sure how any generic/brand is going to effect you until you try it. If you're used to taking the brand name, it would probably be easi...

I have problems sleeping - I am in my 70s and have always had problems sleeping. I am currently taking Zopoclone, is there truth about Astronauts Amazing New Sleeping Pill? or is there something better that would help me sleep. Thank you if you can help. ## Hi Tony - Have you tried a natural supplement at bed time such as Melatonin? There are also essential oils such as Lavendar which are known to have calming effects. As far as what you are taking (Zopoclone) - I could not find a medication with that name as far as U.S. drugs go. Is the active ingredient Temazepam? What sort of effects is the medication having on you at this point?

What happened? Oh, no... I am f+#*ed. Went to Walgreens to fill dextroamph rx tonight. Instead of approx. $75 they said for me with self-pay it's $355+!!!! This is for ONE month. No way I can afford it! Suddenly? What the _ do I do? Taper down with the 2 more days of pills that I have? So, you just blow, they are saying to me. Just be sick, and here, we'll make it so you're much, much sicker!!! Are all the pharmacies going to have the same astronomical price hike? Has anyone got information about about this? ## The exact same thing happened to me on Nov 1st. I live in south florida. I have 60 dexedrine, 10mg tablets and always costs me around $27. I went in to Walgreens and he said $181. I nearly fell over. So of course I didn't get them. When I visit home in Colorado in...

Hello! I would like to start a thread to help those having difficulty finding treatment for their addiction. Buprenorphine can salvage lives and stimulate positive change. But finding the right doctor can prove to be an astronomical problem. Let's help by providing cost/location/clinical information regarding addiction: providers, doctors, psychiatrists & treatment facilities. I'll start it off by giving specific info. about my psychiatrist. Dr. Nathan Strahl Durham, N.C. Cost of Visit - $150 per month - He requires patients to be seen once a month. Prescribes - Suboxone Film/Suboxone Tablet - will not prescribe Subutex. He is a dual diagnosis provider. He will write benzos & stimulants with time & proof of patient sincerity as well as need. Recently found out that Generic Librax is available at Sam's Club and the price for 60 pills, was approx $93.00. Cheapest place I have found. ## not bad... But somewhere there's better :) ## Prices are always subject to change and could certainly be more or less somewhere else on the planet. At least you found an affordable rate to continue getting your meds. Places like Sam's Club and Costco are great for that if you're already a member. Some of the other prices I've seen people pay for the same thing are quite astronomical compared to what you payed. $109, $139.00, and even as much as $364.30 are some of the numbers that come up for 60 tablets of the brand name. Navigating the maze that is Dexedrine Generics is painfully complicated. Here are some tips. Everyone has their preference when it comes to medications like Dexedrine and Adderall. I happen to believe that the Brand Name drug is preferable to the generics, but the price is just astronomical. Dexedrine ER Capsules (Amedra) are priced at about $1300 for a bottle of # 90. The right to manufacture generic versions of the brand medication is spread among a number of companies, and changes constantly as companies are sold and resold to different holding groups. As for Generic Dexedrine: in 2010 Corepharma purchased the right to make Dexedrine from GlasxoSmithKline. CP then offered Brand Dexedrine (made by one of their divisions, Amedra) and generic Dextroamphetamine Sulfate - under the CP lab...

My mom was diagnosed with stage IV NSCLC with only BM two weeks ago. The day before she was to get her port for Carbo/Taxol (which Medicare had pre-approved), the called and said her ALK came back positive so new plan is Xalkori. She went to get the med and the price is astronomical. She is on Medicare and there is absolutely no way that she can afford the drug, and no way even spread between the three kids we can make it work. Has anyone obtained the drug in Canada or Mexico? We're willing to do anything legal to get this for her. She got a grant that will cover two month of it, but after that we just don't know what to do. ## Is your mom low income? If she is, she might qualify for help paying her Medicare co/pay and other Medicare expenses. I have put a link below. She can al...

I have vaginal dryness. I tried activella, which caused problems. I also used an estring before and it was very effective. However, my new dr. said it's not safe. Is this true? I really liked the estring. ## Your doctor can help you decide what is best for you. KY makes several different types of lubricant that work very well and they can be purchased at most drug stores. ## My doctor recommended Astroglide which works much better and for longer than the KY products. You can find it at most drug and discount stores. ## I am experiencing vaginal dryness which makes intercourse very painful. Can someone recommend a topical or prescription solution?
