I have been on methadone treatment for about 2 years. I originally started going to a clinic and took the liquid. I was at about 200 mg per dose. I couldn't keep going to the clinic, and keep a steady job. I ended up finding a pain management doctor that prescribed me the pill form. We worked out a plan to taper down because methadone is just not good if you want to have energy, an increased libido, sweat, and all the lovely other symptoms. I ended up tapering down to about 60 mg per day then my doctor decided that he wanted me to switch from methadone to subutex. So, we made a plan to get down another 30 mg. I took the 30 mg for a week, then he told me he was ready to prescribe the subutex. My last dose of methadone was Friday morning at 6 a.m. I ended up making it 56 hours before ...

I have been taking Hydrocodone/Ibuprofen 7.5-200mg tabs for over 10 years now for chronic pain from having my jaw smashed & back broken. The past two months I have received a different generic from Wallgreens with Actavis as the manufacturer and THEY DO NOT WORK. Absolute crap!! I tried taking more to get the same normal affect and now I have had nothing but major stomach issues and ears ringing. I am going to my Dr on Monday to discuss!! This is ridiculous!! I am going to report to FDA and wallgreens headquarters!! Please let me know if anyone else feels this way?? Thank you. ## I had the exact same issue when I went to have my script filled at Walgreens in Dec 2016. The pharmacy of course did not say they switched manufacturers and so a week into the meds I thought I was losing it...

Ive been taking the SR for a long time. I had a siezure Aug 2008. My Dr has kept me on this med. w/ok from Nuerologist. I recently became aware that the pharmacy gave me Bupropion HCL ER 200mg on my last refill-instead of the SR. I always check and cant beleive I didnt see this. Is there a diffrence? Ive felt really out of sorts, extreme hot flashes, sleeping poorly, upset anxious stomach. ## I have been taking Wellbutrin xl 300 mg for about 5 years. My insurance switched, I placed a mail order nad received Buprop 24 XL tab 300 mg.The only marking on the pill is A102. Has anyone taken this? Is it realy the same? ## Both the SR and ER designate it as being a time released formulation of this medication. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headac...

Drug interaction Want to no if I can take these 4 potassium pills for 2 days with my other daily medications ## Hello, Mare! How are you? As long as your doctor has approved it, then yes, they can be taken together. The FDA classifies potassium as a supplement and it can cause stomach pain and nausea, so it should be taken with food. The more pressing question, I think, is if your potassium is low, why do they still have you on the Hydrochlorothiazide? It is a diuretic and well known to cause potassium loss. Stopping it and switching to a different one might easily solve the problem. You may want to ask your doctor about it. Typical side effects to it may also possibly include nausea, headache, dehydration and increased urination. ## in the morning I take Glimepiride 2 mg, Amlodipine-be...

I have been taking Teva Duloxetine 60 mg everyday since 2008 for fibromyalgia. My last refill my pharmacy switched manufactures to Solco. They said same thing. IT WAS NOT! My fibromyalgia is worse and I am dizzy and can hardly walk. I feel like I am going through withdrawal. Pharmacist is changing me back. Solco didn't seem like it was the same strength and may be since the capsules were a lot smaller! ## Was this through Walgreen's? Was told the same when picking up my sister's 30mg prescription yesterday and saw that the pills were different. She didn't start taking the pills yet bcuz she still has 3 of the Teva brand left over. I'm afraid they won't take them back if there is a problem once she begins taking the new brand. The pills were like $400. Manufacture...

I have been on adderall 8 years. I'm 29 2 kids. My dosage is at 60 mg. 30mg ir 2 x daily I actually took 1.5 months off it and learned just how unmanageable my adhd / add is with out it. I tried starters and Wellbutrin during that time both which had neg side effects and just got back on adderall 10/30. Corpharma 30 pink tabs are what I got. I have been EXHAUSTED lethargic headaches sad .... Weird crap. I tried taking more just to see if it was weak (up to 200mg) - all it did was made all those symptoms ALOT worse. Is it the brand ? After all these years could my body just need to switch to a different medication ? Vyvanse? I've never been on it. Also struggle with depression and severe anxiety I take lexpro 20 mg. Needing to switch from name brand cymbalta 60 mg to generic. Does anyone know the best generic? When I tried yrs ago it felt like it wasn't doing anything. ## I find all generics of Cymbalta useless. I pay more for the original Eli Lilly brand name. I have been using Cymbalta since my second lumbar spine laminectomy in 2005. ## Not every medication works for everyone that tries it, and that includes generics. As to your feeling like it didn't do anything, how long did you take it? Most medications like this take about 4 to 6 weeks to reach their full level of efficacy in your body, so you do have to take them for awhile to see if it will begin to help you. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, mood changes, and weight changes....

My Dr. took me off lisinopril-hctz because of headaches and body weakness. I felt better with the losartan 50mg but my blood pressure shot up to 200/100. Would the losartan work in a combo with lisinopril-hctz; possibly taking the losartan in the evening? ## Do not mix meds. Pharmacist told me that. I was taken off Lisinopril and switched to Losartan 50 mg a day. Blood pressure does not stay regular. I get dizzy. I hate bp meds. I hope we get this straightened out. Losartan seems to be better so far but I am scared that my BP will not get better. Just do not mix medications. Call your doctor and he can adjust. Good luck. ## Juan again on the conversation lisinapril-hctz and losartan,I suffer from chronic pain that can attack me at anytime, but I noted that when i changed from lisinapril-...

which is better for severe pain following surgery? Have been on 100 mg ms contin er tid plus oxycodone 10/325 5/day for severe pain. having knee surgery and Dr switched me to 15mg oxycodone 6/day. somehow I feel like I am really going to be in pain. ## Hello, Foxy! How are you? Yes, the amount of Oxycodone you've been prescribed isn't equal to the amount MS Contin you were taking. That's only 90mgs a day and you'd need 133.33mgs to equal 200mgs of MS Contin. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. But how bad is your pain? After successful surgery, it should slowly start to improve and you shouldn't continually need the higher doses, you sh...

I was on 100 mg of Kadian twice a day for 7 years and got switched to 20 mg of Opana three times of day. Also, I was on 15 mg of Morphine 4 times a day and was switched to 4 mg of dialudid 4 times a day. I want to know if these dosages are equal to my old medicine dosages. ## I don't believe these are equivalent dosages, more over because Morphine is the active ingredient in Kadian. In which case you had taken 100mg twice a day (200mg/day) and later dropped down to 15mg four times a day (60mg/day). That's a pretty significant difference in and of itself, not taking into consideration the Opana or Dilaudid fixtures. As far as Opana (Oxymorphone) and Dilaudid (Hydromorphone) goes, these are two different drugs with different levels of potency/pain relief, so cross-comparing the tw...

I was diagnosed with a severe anxiety disorder and major depression in 1994. After being on Ativan and Xanex, in 2007 my prescribing doctor switched me to Klonopin. She claimed it was not as addictive as the other 2 and easier to get off of. I am living proof that this is not true. After attempting suicide in June 2012, I began seeing a psychiatrist. She played around with many different meds for insomnia and depression. She decided to stop my Klonopin completely w/o tapering me off. She put me on 60 mg of Prozac and Buspar 2x daily. I had complained on my last 2 monthly visits that I was not feeling right at all, I was experiencing a lot of deja vu and weird thoughts. She changed nothing. In June 2013 I called her office on a Monday and requested to see her, stating I was feeling very ...

Medicare wants to switch me from provigil 200 mg once/day, which I have been taking to establish a sleep pattern successfully for 4 years, and replace it with methylphenidate. WIll it perform the same? ## Provigil contains the active ingredient Modafinil and Methylphenidate is a stimulant, but they are used to treat the same conditions. The only way, however, to tell if it will work for you is to actually try it. You may experience side effects, such as: nausea, headache, irritability and insomnia. Read more: Are there any comments or questions? ## Thank you for the info. It appears that Methylidate is basically, Ritalin. I noticed that the medication's half life is 24 hours, SO, if I take this in the morning to deal with Narcolepsy, and I plan on sleeping 16 hours later, it may cau...

I have taken bupropion SR 200MG which is blue & marked MU13, my recent prescription was filled from A different pharmacy company. This prescription is Bupropion HCL SR 200 MG which is a peach pill marked 555. Is the 555 the same as MU13? ## Yes, the tablet with the 555 marking also contains 200mgs of extended release Bupropion. Learn more Bupropion details here. It is normal for your pharmacy to switch, if a different company is offering a cheaper price at the time they need to restock their supply. It is how they keep prices down for customers that don't have insurance. Is there anything else I can help with?

IS THERE ANY THING STRONGER THAT MY PAIN MGMT DR CAN PRESCRIBE ME THAN A 30MG ROXY, he also prescribes 200mg of ms contin ## Hello, Dave! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. There is a time released form of the Oxycodone available called Oxycontin, you could speak to your doctor about switching to that, since it would be stronger than the MS Contin. There are also patches available that contain the potent narcotic Fentanyl, it's the strongest one available. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. To replace your regular release medication, if you prefer to do that, there are higher doses of Roxicodone available, as well as several other alt...

I have been reading all of the posts on Fent. pain patches. I have been on 25 MG since March 2009. I was on one brand and could not get it to stay stuck after a hot flash. I am in surgically induced menopause. The pharm then switched brands, which do stick better. But I have noticed about an hour after a hot flash that I get dizzy and sick to my tummy. I also am in stage 3 kidney failure. I decided to call the number on the back Mylan box. YES, body temp. changes, such as fever or menopause, or even rise from exercise, can cause the patch to release more med than it should. ALSO, in my talking with the company I learned I should NOT be taking it with my kidney failure as it IS processed thru the kidneys. I am going to a highly respected pain doc in our area. When I told them about the k...

I went to my local Walmart to get my prescription for adderrall filled. It was for the 20 mg time released, which I have take several times. I have been on this medication since 2007. My doc switches me between the time released and the regular adderrall every 6 months to 1 year because of the length of timeI have been on this medication. When I took the med, it didn't seem right. It wasn't till the end of the prescription that I thought maybe this is fake. When I opened the capsule there was a white powder, unlike the white and blue beads I would typically find. I paid over 300.00 for these pills and have none of the pills left. When I was ready for my next prescription I went to a different pharmacy. I checked the drug beforehand and there were the little blue and white beads. Af

I started on a course of Bup. XL of 150 mg for the first week and then double that the second week. Mornings which had been so difficult for me were great, but when I switched to the 300, I had terrible insomnia, and trouble reading. So the doctor switched me to Bup. SR 200 mg, and I am back to exhausted again. I have plenty of the XL left and am considering switching back and maybe cutting the second pill in half. Any recommendations or experience? ## The first thing that needs to be cleared up for you is that the XL and SR mean the same thing, there is no difference in those. They are both just abbreviations that designate those ones are being time released. If you were doing so well on the 150mg dosage, why did he want you to keep going up? It would really make more sense to stay at ...

I recently was in a car accident and tried to go back to oxy's, my doctor put me on 40mg three times a day as before. This is not working as after three monthes by body still hurts from the methadone. I am considering going back to methadone however 60mg per day no longer helps.
