Started on Cipro for a week than Dr. switched me to mono/mac 100mg. I have been headachy.. bad and burning up like such hot flashes in the night I took ice bags to hold in my arms to cool me down. I feel twittery and shaky . Dr. office gave me a cortesoid shot thinking it would help my continuing headache (which it did). But the tired weakness along with the terrible heat-burning flashes all night. It is daylight now and I don't feel the consumed heat problem. I am thinking I'd like to stop the mono mac and take my chances. I am 84 years old. I have no discomfort in the bladder area anymore. ## After that post early this AM I a have been resting. Sorta still have burning in my bladder. But being blessed with Arthritis I never know exactly about the pain in my lower back. Mild he...

I was taking Benicar tab 40mg my pharmacist sent me Losartan tab 100mg. Is that the equivalent or could this be a mistake? ## No, it is not the same medication. Benicar contains Olmesartan, so the Losartan is in the same class, but it is a different drug. Have you contacted them about it? Since they are in the same class, they work the same way, but such a switch shouldn't be made, without your doctors approval.

hi i have been on these patches for 4 months now but i still have pain ## Have you consulted your doctor? Do you have any medications for breakthrough pain? Usually, for proper pain management, something long acting like the Fentanyl is used and then some that works immediately, or a regular release medication, is also given for those times the pain is too much for the long acting medication to completely control. ## I am on 25mcgs of fentynal patches every 72 hours, plus 10/325 pecocet 1 every 4-6 hours for BT pain. The Percocet doesn't do much, and is very similar to my previous prescription of Norco and the patch isn't strong enough and runs out after 48 hours. I am going to ask for 48 hours, and 50mcgs on the patch, and switching to oxycontin for B.T. pain.Hows that sound to ...

I have been on Lotrel (10/20) for several years and have experienced several side effects - mostly mild but in combination - I finally decided it was time to re- evaluate and consider other options. The side effects were numbness and tingling in the feet, dry mouth and jittery for 6 hours post dosing, bad taste and significant change in taste, nocturia, occasional dizziness and weight gain... The doctor prescribed Losartan 100mg. As this is he same class as one of my drugs on Lotrel, it seems counter-intuitive to put me on this drug. When I posed the question the doc said well you will have to deal wi other side effects with other antihypertensives. I also asked if my high BP was level 1 why was she not putting me on the 50mg dose - to mitigate side effects - and she said because my Lot...

It says two times a day. Is that no less than 12 hours close, or can it be 11 or 10 to switch the time of day around some. It is hard to stay up until 1 am. Have about 7 1/2 more days to take this. Enlarged red vein is what is is given for. June 13, 2014 ## Hello, Louise! How are you? To properly eradicate the bacteria, the level needs to remain fairly constant in your body for the duration of the time you're being treated with it. And hour or 2 isn't going to make a huge difference, but you should try to keep them as close to 12 hours apart as you can. Side effects to this antibiotic may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was on morphine sulf. Er 100mg tab. rhodes. Then I got switched to morphine sulf. 100mg er mylan. These upset my stomach why did they change my meds. Like that?.I have back pain, even had serg. The one made by rhodes worked just fine what can I do so my stomach doesn't get up set ? Thanks j.r. ## Hello, Steve! How are you? Since this is a generic medication, it is manufactured by several different companies and whichever one your pharmacy has in stock depends on which company was offering the cheapest price, at the time they needed to restock their supply. Thus, if you're taking a generic medication, you really have to just expect this to happen occasionally. As to it upsetting your stomach, it could be due to there being a different inactive ingredient in it. Have you consult...

Do I stop taking doxycycline hyc 100Mg cap if i am vomiting?? Yes or no ## Have you talked to your doctor about it? It is an antibiotic, so if you are being treated for an infection, then you need to finish the course of one to eradicate the infection, but if this one is making you sick, then you probably need to switch to another one. My grandma is taking losartan 100mg OD. She accidentally took the medication twice a day. Which stressed us. What is the effect of this medication to my grandma's hypertension/condition? She doesn't feel anything unusual though. ## Hello, Val! How are you and how is your grandmother doing? Have you checked her blood pressure? It could cause it to drop too low and to develop a low heart rate, though if she's not feeling sick or dizzy, then she's likely fine. However, you should check with her doctor to be safe. ## Am taking Losarton 100 mg twice a day as per my Neph doctor. But my primary doctor wants me to only take one 100 mg per day. Is it okay to start taking my doctor prescribed ampicillin 500mg 3x daily after two doses of doxycycline 100mg? Took only two tablets 12 hours apart? I have a tooth infection as well as one on a very hard to heal leg wound. Please if someone could let me know? I'm very worried! Thank you! ## Hello, Amy! How are you? Yes, you should take the one preferred by your doctor and make sure to finish the full course of treatment. I am taking 40mg of Celexa and was switching to Wellbutrin. I followed the doctors orders of slowly decreasing the Celexa and started on Wellbutrin 100mg. The first day I started this I experienced a lethargic mood. I didnt feel any need to move, I could have just sat there and stared at the wall all day and that would have been fine with me. The second day was the exact same. The third day I didnt take the Wellbutrin. Thats when I finally got up and called the doctor. The doctors say this is odd and it may have to do with tapering off the Celexa. But on the third day I was still on a lower dose of Celexa but felt like normal. The doctors want me to try this again and I'm wondering if anyone has heard of this happening and if the effects I felt would taper off or not? Thanks So Much...

I am getting ready to take a cruise in 5 days and I was wandering if I could start taking kelfex 500mg. My doctor put me on this because I told him I would be in the sun a lot and I needed something that was not sun sensitive. I have never taken marcobid before. It got to be the medicine making feel that way. I was going to start taking it today because I can't take this another day and can't talk to him until Monday. I have been taking phenytoin for 15 years for seizures due to abnormal vessel between speech and memory part of my brain. I fill my meds at Wal-Mart. I have a long history of sinusitus and MD has given me antibiotics to use. After 3 days with 1 cephalexin 100 mg p/day. Would swithcing to cephalexin 500 mgs 4x p day get faster results??? Is it a problem stopping one and starting another?? ## Switching can create the risk of your developing C. Difficile, so you should take the one your doctor has prescribed for you. The general rule with antibiotics is that if they are working, you shouldn't see any worsening after taking them for a full 24 hours, and you should see some improvement after taking them for a full 3 days. Has there been any change, yet? The FDA warns that this typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash.

I am on 5-325 hydrocodone. I took my last of the script around 7:30 this evening. I have an old script of 100mg, extended release, tramadol and figured I would take one in the am., since my hydrocodone script can't be filled til the day after tomorrow. Am I safe to take one around 8:00 am., tomorrow morning? ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu - drug interaction tool), there is a high interaction potential between hydrocodone and tramadol. However they do go on to note that because the two drugs may be necessary in certain cases, your doctor may have to adjust the dosage and/or frequency of dosing in order to help mitigate any possible risk factors/side effects (such as: Loss of balance or dizziness, slurred speech, confusion, changes in mental awarene...

I have been taking 20 mg lisinopril with the diuretic and my blood pressure has been anywhere from 140?/90? To 150?/98 or so. Today my doctor switched me to losartan hctz100-25 mg. I'm worried the mg in losartan is so much higher than the lisinopril. Is this safe? Will this make my blood pressure drop to an unsafe level? I took the lisinopril this morning and he told me to start the losartan tomorrow morning. Is this okay? ## Hello, Melissa! How are you? That is a normal starting dose for Losartan, it may seem a lot higher than the dosage you were taking of Lisinopril, however, since it is in a different class of medications, it is actually only a little higher, which I'm guessing is due to the fact that your blood pressure readings were still high and need further lowering. How...

My Dr switched me from 37.5 mg of Effexor to 100 mg of Zoloft. I told him Effexor made me tired. So he says Zoloft should make me have more energy. I was down to 37.5 Effexor from 75mg because I was trying to wean off. Now I feel like I am on a higher dosage than I was before. Plus I've gained weight. I don't feel anymore energetic either. Is 37.5 mg Effexor equivalent to 100mg Zoloft? If it's a higher dose then I'm not happy. ## Hello, TMomm! How are you? They are actually different classes of medications. Effexor is an SNRI antidepressant, while Zoloft is an SSRI. And the dosing is approximately correct, so you're really not on a higher one. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Zoloft as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight chan...
