sulfameth trimethoprim 800 160 what is this used for Insect bites
I have what I think were some type spider or some other type of insect bites 5 of them, they sort of look like a Brown Recluse bite, but not as bad. They turned into ugly open sores within a few hours, just like a Brown Recluse Spider bite would do. The doctor says the it now looks like cellulitis, that's a skin infection below the outer skin layers. So the bites went deep into the hypodermis skin layers .My doctor gave me some other type of antibiotic for 10 days 2000 mg a day. They cleared up some, but are still ugly pits, Yesterday, the doctor gave me the SMT 800/160 drugs. Take 2 per day, for 10 days. As of tonight, I have not had any side effects, but with only 4 pills in my system, it may be to early for side effects to show up. I will try to come back later in the week and po... ...

what is sulfameth trimethoprim 800 160 tabs treated for
I have been subscribed sulfameth trimethoprim 800 160 for a skin rash. Sulfar content scares me since I had a friend died taking sulfa with Steven Johnson Syndrome. I need more advice on this med. It was prescribed by a Nurse Practioner ## Please see Jo Ann's question below, have not received an answer. ## Hello, Jo Ann! How are you? This is an antibiotic that's used to treat infections and its normal side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. There's actually a great chance of having an allergic reaction to this one, since about 3% of the population are allergic to it. If it's just a skin rash and not an actual infection, then this medicat... ...

sulfameth trimethoprim 800 / 160
Drug was prescribed yesterday (1/18/10) for a UTI which began on 1/17/10. Symptoms seemed to be lessening yesterday evening after the 2nd tablet. Time between urinating had stretched to 2 hours. Now, this morning it's back to 15 minute intervals before an overwhelming urge to urinate takes place. When urinating, there is also a bad burning sensation. Questions: (1) How long at 2 tablets per day before I experience some relief? (2) Caution against taking with grapefruit juice, but not orange juice. Why? Is there a connection with vitamin C, since I have been taking ~8 grams per day( I now have discontinued C in case there was. I was in the sun short periods of time, and broke out in a sunburn rash, it's the weekend what can I do? Tried Benadryl it never changed.. ## Hello, Nick! How are you? Some topical aloe vera lotion may help soothe it, but otherwise, it will likely just take time, until it clears up on its own. Sulfameth Trimethoprim 800 160 Is Good For Cold?
I have cold for last one week, and it's getting worth. I have mussle ach, throat pain, and a little fever. Does Sulfameth Trimethoprim work for such symptons? ## Hi AJ, Sorry to say, but Antibiotics in general will not work for colds, flu, and other viral infections. For such symptoms I would suggest looking into more natural alternatives, such as: Raw Honey + Tea - for throat pain/inflammation Lavender Essential Oil - for any muscle aches Plenty of water + Fruits & Veggies - for the fever Many fruits and Vegetables have natural healing properties that can help get your body's temp back to normal in very little time at all (if this is all you're eating for the most part). I also believe the therapeutic properties of honey, tea, and lavender will be of great benefit. I ho... ...

I am taking it for a sinus infection and cough, but my costachondritis has flared up and wanted to take meloxicam ## My findings state that there are in fact interactions between these two drugs. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more: However, if this is medication that you had left over, because you didn't finish it all to treat some other infection that it was prescribed for, you should know that it is never a good idea to do that. It creates the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. Started taking this on Friday at 8 pm. Woke up on Saturday with a horrible headache and red eyes. Took it again Saturday at 8am and again at 8pm. Woke up Sunday without headache although it still hurts when I cough. Still took meds at 8am. Is this normal or should I discontinue? ## I also have a slight fever. ## This is a sulfa antibiotic, so I am really not sure if anything is abnormal or unexpected. To be completely honest, what you're experiencing doesn't sound dangerous and may not be sufficient reason to stop taking it, but this is a very nasty antibiotic that I wouldn't recommend to anyone. I really think it should be reserved as a last resort, when other options haven't worked. Learn more SMZ/TMP details here. The final decision on whether or not you continue taki... ...
