Sulfameth Trimethoprim 800 160 Can Treat Acne

I am 24 yrs old and has this acne problems in my back for years. My mom tried so many different cleanser such as neutrogenia for acne body wash. Been using it for years. I just recently went to a dermatology and prescribed me with this sulfameth trimethoporim 800 160 .. my mom is concerned that the qty is for 60 days. Is this too much ? ## Hello, Bud! How are you? is bactrim ds 800-160 ok to take for my acne? or is my dermotologist phsycotic? i have been taking this medicine for awhile and it makes me itch. ## Hi Conner, This medication contains Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim, it is an antibiotic that's used to treat many types of infections. Based on my research, Bactrim is also used to treat Acne. I didn't see "itching" listed as a side effect, so you could be having an allergic reaction. sulfameth/trimethoprim 800-160 ## I have been on this drug for a week now and I have been experiencing a hard time sleeping and I wake up every hour on the hour and when I first was on it I did not sleep for four days and I never had sleeping problems before. When I do sleep I also get really weird dreams. Has anyone experienced this? ## Yes- I am having problems sleeping and weird dreams also. Ooh-well; it will stop soon.
