Suicidal

After taking savella for a month I began having non stop suicidal thoughts. One night I found myself on the suicide hotline. I committed myself to a 1 week lockdown program and they were the ones that told me it was the Savella. That was 2013. It's now 2022 and I have survived 2 serious suicide attempts. It's never gone away. When I read the original FDA application it noted that 1/3 would get pain relief, 1/3 would not see improvement and 1/3 would become suicidal. I'm furious! How did the FDA allow this drug on the market?! Be super careful... I would avoid Savella like the plague. ## I am so sorry this happened to you. It’s so scary when they use SSNIs and antipsychotics for other non-mental illnesses. They give Abilify to people with chronic fatigue syndrome and it...

Alright so hello guys, I’m having a very scary problem. I’ve been taking fluoxetine (Prozac) for about 5 weeks. Things have been great the past few weeks, I was feeling really good! Before the medication I was having tons of suicidal thoughts but now for the past few days those thoughts have come back and even more scary, I feel motivated to actually act on them. Only thing keeping me going is I do still have hope and I know it will hurt my family. So have any of you had this problem? Should I keep taking the medication? Will I feel better again? I felt like this medication was working really well but now I feel lost again. I’m hoping this is just a bump and things will start progressing again. ## In most cases, it is best to consult your doctor, and try a different me...

Hi. I used Xarelto for a few days for DVT. It caused extreme bleeding in me. I have a myoma. It was not time for my period, but I started losing blood and clots immediately. Needed to change things every 10-15 minutes. I already had bad iron deficiency anemia, so that is not a good thing. Now that this side effect stopped, I quit. I have severe fatigue and diarrhea. I read Xarelto has lactose, which I am intolerant to (thanks, doc). So that may explain something. But it does not stop. Same for the dizzy spells and vertigo and disoriented feelings in my head. And for the anxiety and suicidal depression and irritability. I was happy and balanced (even if somewhat concerned about the DVT) before starting. Only a few days of Xarelto, changed me around. I feel horrid. It's a physical kin...

I was prescribed tramadol 50 mg about 4 months ago for my back pain.. It's been working great as far as taking the pain away.. It really surprised me how much pain it took away and it doesn't make me feel high. I was prescribed 3 a day and that's a good amount to keep me pain free all day. However my insurance won't cover 90 pills, it only covers 60 pills.. And my pharmacist won't let me buy the other 30 for some reason. Doesn't make any sense to me but that's a whole 'nother subject. So I've had to try really hard to only take two a day and it makes me aggravated because I still have to hurt for a third of the day... My question is about the side effects. I've heard that depression and suicidal thoughts are a possible side effect and I've bee...

Taking the escitalipram 20 mg I became irritable and suicidal. Now I'm having terrible withdrawals . I take Evekeo for ADHD but still need an antidepressant . Anyone know what will work that's not an SSRI ## Hello, Jen! How are you? There are several other options that might help you, such as SNRI antidepressants, tricyclic antidepressants, some antipsychotics and some anticonvulsants. The FDA lists many of the side effects profiles as being very similar and possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes and dry mouth. It's really a matter of working with your doctor to find the one that works best for you. Does anyone else have any advice or suggestions to offer?

I am 27 years old. I want to commit suicide now because I have been in depression for a long period. Can any medication help? ## I was diagnosed with depression. I have this mood that sometimes I get so angry and feeling like committing suicide.. Is that normal? ## Suicide's not the answer & almost all Anti-Depressants are linked to serious side effects, No.#1 Suicide. I can tell you what saved my life. I was on 4-5 meds. that caused; Hopelessness, Audio & Visual Hallucinations & more. I was seriously injured in an Negligent Work Accident over 16 yrs. ago, 24/7 Severe Chronic Pain, on highest pain meds since.. I've been "Abandoned" by various Dr.'s, recent 3 months now, without meds it could have been the end. Thankfully, I can turn to Jesus anytime I fee...

I know of someone that just committed suicide who also happened to be taking Lyrica. It may be impossible to know if the two things are linked. She was not depressed or suicidal before taking this drug that I know of; and as far as I know, only her mother noticed any changes in her personality leading up to this event. Since her death 6 days ago, I have read more than a few horror stories about not only Lyrica, but Ambien, and epilepsy drugs as well. My mother suffers from neuropathy, and that is my only knowledge of what it must be like to suffer pain so terrible that one would risk the known side effects, which include suicidal behavior; but I hope that everyone takes these warnings seriously. When the drug company says it is "rare", but cites a 1 in 500 statistic... please re...

I am on Lyrica but I read somewhere that it affects libido and it increases depression and suicidal thinking. Please let me if u have such experience. Thanks. ## Hello, Ivan! How are you? The U.S. FDA does list those as being possible side effects of it, as well as nausea, dizziness, mood swings and weight gain. However, not everyone experiences all the side effects of any given medication. Have you had any problems with it? Can anyone else that's taken it chime in?

I am going to be forced into taking a medication that causes suicidal side effects. What are the chances of getting suicidal side effects from Atypical or Antipsychotic medication? Has anyone ever gotten them? Unfortunately the other medications won’t help me and my mental health will be in jeopardy. Are there people out there that were able to take medication that had side effects that cause suicidal problems and are ok? I’m scared out of my trees. I won’t take it for this reason. Are there any good mood stabilizing medications for Bipolar Illness other than antipsychotics? Do they work just as well without the suicidal side effects? Thank you. ## Hi my 69 year old mom died because she was forced to take Risperdal injections and she got terrible suicidal ideation from...

My daughter who was naturally a funny, happy adventurous person her whole life became severely depressed and had suicidal thoughts from the very beginning of her use of IMPLANON. Anxiety and panic attacks, non-stop bleeding, Even hallucinating towards the end. It was so bad, she was house bound the last few months of her life. She took her life during one of her severe bouts of severe depression. She had this implanted in her body for 2 years. Could not find a doctor to remove it, even planned parenthood to her sorry, not our problem. UNBELIEVABLE. What do these pharmaceutical companies think women are for? Do we not have any more worth then their test monkeys or guinea pigs that they can just stick something in our bodies without concern as to what it does to our mind not to mention on...

I'm in a suicidal state over the fact that I have not been able to get any help with depression does anybody know of a psychiatrist here in New York City in August that would be taking Medicare ## Hello, John! How are you? I am so very sorry about what you're going through. Do you have a PCP that you see regularly? They should be able to prescribe something that can help, in the meantime, while you're hunting for psychiatrist. Are you currently on any medications? Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that area?

Has anyone experienced suicidal ideation and assault while taking Chantix/Champix ## It is known to cause these problems with some people that take it, thought it is very rare. It is an antidepressant, the active ingredient is Varenicline and most of them are known to cause the opposite of their intended effects in a very small number of people that use them. In the U.S. it carries a black box warning about it on the medication sheet. Is there anything else I can help with?

is aggression and suicidal thoughts a side effect of mirtrazapine ## Mirtazapine is a tetracyclic antidepressant and yes, there are some instances where this class of medications has been known to actually cause these types of symptoms, rather than alleviate them. The person taking it should contact their doctor immediately, because it is probably not the right medication for them to use and they more than likely have to try something else. Learn more: Are there any other questions?

U name the drug iv been on it. At 53 im more suicidal than ever. Money does buy happiness. Will explain more later ## Sorry to hear about your suicidal intentions cherrub53. I used to have similar thoughts while I was in a severely depressed state of mind and in no way did I think I'd ever get out of it; but as time passed, so did my situation along with the negative way I used to look at it. Life is all about growing and learning from each experience to the next. Bad experiences can all change once you begin to look at your situation from another perspective. Obviously it is easier said than done for most people, but if you keep an open mind and see yourself in a different situation by slowly making changes to your current way of life, I'm sure you will notice a more positive s...

what are some of the side affects of chantix? Does it cause suicidal thoughts? Does it work? ## It does not work for everyone, however, it has proved beneficial for some people. Yes, in some people it can cause suicidal thoughts. Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, headache, difficulty sleeping and constipation. ## Get on forums and read the side effects of Chantix before taking. It can cause suicidal thoughts among many other terrible things. I have taken it and consider myself one of the lucky ones for having read the information and stopping it soon enough. I also have quit smoking. I have researched extensively in search of my own cure of side effects from Chantix and I highly recommed taking a good multivitamin and COQ10 while taking the Chantix and after. Also, a...

Hi, My friend is suffering from depression and also suicidal. we checked with a psychiatrist. He prescribed nexito and restyl for sleeping and depression. I m scared whether if again she thought about suicide and use those pills? Will it leads to death? ## There is no way that anyone can predict whether or not a suicide attempt will be successful, it all depends on how the person tries to do it and how determined they are. When it comes to using medications, the doctor has to carefully weigh the risks and benefits. In this case, it means the doctor has decided that she is at much greater risk, if she is not medicated. Yes, there is a chance that such medications could make her more suicidal, but it is a very slim possibility and, since she was already suicidal, there is a much great risk...

I'm on 10mg of aripiprazole and 40mg fluoxetine. I was feeling suicidal before. Is this medication going to help? I've been feeling realy down. I feel whether or not to carry on taking these meds its only recently my consultant put my aripiprazole up from 5 to 10mg because my moods have been so low but i keep thinking it might be them that might be making me feel worse ## These medications may help, but it could take 4 to 5 weeks, before you see how much they will work for you, according to the NIH. It is normal for such medications to sometimes cause you to feel a bit worse, before you start to feel better, other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mout...

I had horrible sides effects with Lyrica. Anxiety Attacks, Panic Attacks, Rapid Pulse, Suicidal thoughts, Pressure Headaches, Thought I was finally going crazy. Stopped taking 1 month ago, beginning to feel like my old self. Saw 3 doctors during this time and no one suspected the Lyrica ## Very odd, as these are prominently warned about in all Lyrica literature. ## I looked on Pzifer's wed site for side effects and the one's I experienced were not listed. Nor were there any warnings to this effect. That is why I kept taking it. Then I began to read websites and peoples actual experience and found common links.
