I am 64 years old and physically fit; my bp is under control and so is my thyroid.[eltroxin.5 per day] please advise. I am not in a position to consult doctors here. so... ## You can't just stop taking any, because that risks a rebound effect that may cause your sugar levels to rise to dangerous levels. How long have you been off the Pioz and how well did it control your suga...

My father is 87 years old has diabetes type 1 but well controlled. He is also bedridden because his thigh bone got fracture and joined with metal support 2 years ago. He eats less amount so we treat him with some cakes or fresh fruit juice which are not very sweet. But he could not eat well since 4 days ago after he relieved from sickness. He is very weak and bp is 136/65. Blood sugar in fasting is around 200. We live far from the city and rare to see doctors. The nurse from our town asked the doctor for this case and he gave cypro 2 tablets. My father could not sleep well also. Is it ok if he takes this medicine and I also want to know the dosage. I am 45 years old. My blood sugar level is FBS 163 & PPBS 239 and BP 130/70. I have been taking regularly "gliclazide 80 mg + Metformin 500 mg & amlodepine 5 mg + lisinopril 5 mg". My sugar level not coming to normal level inspite of taking these medicines reguarly. Please advise should I change or add more medicine to keep my Blood Ssurgar in normal level. ## Hello, Kondodi! How are you? What types of foods do you eat? Anything sweet, including fruits will elevated your blood sugar. Additionally, anything high in fat coats the cells, so they can't absorb sugar to burn for energy, which also causes blood sugar elevations. So, the best diet for a diabetic is one that's very low in sugar and fat. Another question is: How much exercise do you get? This is also anoth...

Hi my age is 29, am suffering dibatis diases, and i am using Glycomet Gp 2, Tazloc 20, now my sugar level is pp 147, i will continue this medicine, or i will change my mdicine. so pls tell me .... ## Hello, Bhaskar! How are you? Tazloc is not used to treat diabetes. It is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac diseases, but your doctor might have prescribed it to help protect your kidneys from the damage that diabetes can cause. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. How long PP are you getting this reading? That's not ridiculously high, but it could be lower. What types of foods do you eat? The medication will not do everything to control your blood sugar, you also n...

The reason it is no longer available is that it contained Camphor, yes, even in the liquid that was taken internally and the FDA has recognized this as being unsafe. Camphor is now only approved to be used topically. As to the other ingredients, I am sorry, I have been unable to discover that. I am having High Bp 140/90 and some times 140/100, for the last 10 years. first 8 years I was put on Atenol 25mg. Two years back my cardiologist changed my medicine to Telma-H(40mg). This year when I went through regular check up my BP was 140/100 and sugar levels were 125 FBS and 170 PBS. The LDL was 140mg. Immediately he advised to take telma-H 80mg in empty stomach in the morning. I followed for three days it made lot of acidity and gas problems. I stopped 80 mg and revert back to 40 mg. if a diabetic person taking glycomet gp2 forte before dinner observe metformin part come out with stool in the morning what conclusion may be drwan about absorption of the medicine in the body.pl guide. ## The Metformin is actually slowly released into your body, to give better blood sugar control for a longer period of time. Basically what you saw in your stool was just the outer shell of the pill, but the medication was still released into your body, just as it should be. The entire tablet isn't meant to be dissolved and broken down, so seeing it in your stool is perfectly normal. Is there anything else I can help with?

Just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this: I take Actiq for my migraines and works great most of the time but is really doing a number on my teeth. I've heard that the lozenge form of Fentanyl (Fentora) has no sugar in it at all, but a lot of people I've talked to say it's not as long lasting as the Actiq and their pain tends to re-occur quicker. Why can't they make the Actiq sugar free? ## I can't find any details on this, but my first guess is that it probably has to do with disguising the taste of the medication. Fentanyl is a narcotic and they are known to be very bitter and it would take a lot to make sure that they didn't completely gross someone out. In addition, the use of actual sugars as a sweetener opens them up to a much broader market, as man...
