It is a gastro-intestinal medication, mainly used to treat ulcers, but also some gases of GERD. Common listed side effects include: nausea, headache and constipation, but I have no idea if these would be the same for dogs. my mother takes Sucralfate suspension, she is unable to swollow it in tablet form due to an oesophogeal stricture, is there another similar preparation? ## Well, if she has been prescribed a suspension, that should be a liquid formulation. I'm currently prescribed 4 sucralfates per day, and 2 omeprazole. The instructions for sucralfate state do not take any other medications within 2 hours of taking this. I choke and can't swallow this big tablet. Can I crush it and melt it into a liquid and take it with water or juice? I have tried to crush it and still choke on it's crumbs. ## Hello, Jean! How are you? Yes, this medication isn't time released, so there shouldn't be any problem with doing that, unless your pharmacist says otherwise. You could crush it and put it in something, or just cut it into smaller pieces that you can swallow. Advised Sucralfate by Nostrum was discontinued. I have been taking it with bad side effects ## Hello, Linda! How are you feeling? What side effects were you experiencing? The FDA lists its most common ones as possibly including nausea, dizziness, lightheadedness and constipation. ## I had a tremoundous amount of mucous, uncomtrollable shaking, duzziness, panic attacks and rapid heartbeat, headaches. But only with Nostrum manufacturer. ## The only information I received is that this drug by Nostrum is no longer being manufactured. However, other manufacturers are continuing. Does anyone have information about the manufacturer? Maybe they were closed down or something?

This would be the appropriate way to take the medication unless your doctor has given you different instructions. Reportedly it is safe to consume food and beverages 30 minutes after or 1 hour before taking this medication. Pharmacies in my area are no longer able to obtain the Watson 1 gm Sucralfate tablets. Has Watson discontinued their manufacture of this, or is it a distribution issue? I prefer their blue tablets, as they dissolve in water much easier than the white tablets from the other companies. ## Using TEVA Sucralfate 1 gm tablets as of Aug 28, 2017, and they dissolve quickly in water. TEVA on one side of tablet, 22 10 on the other. Hope this helps

Can Rablet and Sucralfate be taken together? I've been taking Rablet for more than two years with just a gap of a week or two in between. Will I have any side effects? Or can I carry on taking it? ## I have been unable to find any specific information on taking these two medications together. I did not find interactions listed between Rabeprazole and Sucralfate [1]. I have been prescribe Dexilant 60 Mg 1 capsule twice daily and Sucralfate 1GM 3 times a day an hour after meals. I haven't taken them yet but it concern me what I have read on each one of them. I am 69.7 years old and many medicine have given me bad reactions.
