My husband was taking methadone for over 5yrs for pain he lost a part of his finger.Well suddenly his dr decided he was nolonger going to prescribe narcotics to any of his paitients we live in IN. and are looking for a Dr. that is willing to prescribe subutex instead of suboxone we don't like the side effects of the suboxone. If anyone can help it will be appreciated it he is so miserable. ## Hi, Sorry I don't live in IN. But this is my suggestion just find any MD. Tell him what has happened and that he can't take suboxone maybe it gives him terrible head aches? It did me!! Some will write subutex here in Alabama and they are suboxone drs. I told a suboxone Dr. That I couldn't afford suboxone and if I didn't have something that it would just be cheaper for me to get ... ...

Finding Subutex Dr?
I am really having a hard time finding a doctor who treats with Subutex and not Suboxone. I have chronic pain syndrome and relief-seeking behavior soon became drug-seeking behavior. My psychiatrist put me on Subutex, and my pain was reduced a little, but I wasn't so much into drug seeking anymore. I was treated for 5 years. Then I moved, and I can't find anyone in Ohio who does this. I might have to move back to Chicago! Any suggestions? ## What is your particular issue with using Suboxone, rather than Subutex? They both contain the exact same narcotic to treat pain and/or addiction, Buprenorphine. The only difference is that the Suboxone also contains Naloxone, to help prevent someone from abusing other narcotics, while they are using it. If you are no longer having a problem w... ...

subutex mgs
What's the difference between the small and large pill an which is stronger the 2mg or the 8mg? ## Hello, Sherrie! How are you? When it comes to medications, please don't let them confuse you. As applies in most other situations, the relevance of numbers in medications is the same, so the higher the number, the stronger the dosage. Learn more Subutex details here. This is a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. As to the specifics on the pills you mentioned, them sizes don't mean anything, so I can't tell you anything about them without more information. Can you please post back with the markings on them? Thanks! ## Size DOESN'T matter but the strength goes ... ...

subutex while driving
Is it safe for a parent to be driving their children while taking subutex? ## It really depends on the person in question and how it affects them. If you read the warnings given for these types of medications, it states that you shouldn't drive or operate heavy machinery, until you know for sure how the medication is affecting you. If it causes a lot of drowsiness and dizziness in the person that's taking it, then no, they should refrain from driving. However, not everyone that takes it experiences such side effects and they also tend to wear off, over time, so if they do experience them, there may be only a short period of time, where it isn't safe for them to drive. Are there any other questions or concerns? ...

subutex pills
Was on methadone fir 3 months and I've been off of it fir 1 month but I've been doing other opiates to get me through the withdrawal. I'm looking into taking subutex and wanted to no if I can take one right away or do I have to wait 24hrs for the opiates to get out of my system. ## Hello, Tiny! How are you? Subutex only contains Buprenorphine, it does not contain the Naloxone that is in Suboxone to cause withdrawal, so it does not require the waiting period. This is a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What has your doctor advised? ## Have not spoke with a doctor regarding this matter. One more question, if I am on subutex for a couple days, do I have to wait to ... ...

subutex 54 411
A friend of mine told me her pharmacy told her they were going to be only getting the small round generic subutex tablets. I have always gotten the big ones. I do not like the small ones, I don't abuse them. So has anyone else heard that they are going to quit making the round generic 54 411 suburex ?? ## @lifesaver, There haven't been any official announcements from the FDA or drug companies regarding the discontinuation of this pill. So I'm not sure where your friend heard this information, but it's possible that it may not be public news yet if she recently got these details in advance from someone within the company. The manufacturer of this specific pill is Roxane Laboratories, Inc. I would suggest contacting them directly for a more accurate answer on what their fu... ...

Subutex Doctors
My Dr.. up north can't give me another script. As its been over 6 months. Just had total knee replacement and another surgery to break up the scar tissue. The pain is overwhelming but the Dr.. said I need to takethe subUtex ## Should you take pain meds. With subtex?? I heard it's a waist of money?? ## Sherry, what doctor said you need to take Subutex? Are they not prescribing you anything for the pain? Learn more Subutex details here. And Jerry, Subutex only contains the opiate Buprenorphine, so it can be taken with other narcotic pain medications. Are there any other questions or comments? ...

subutex in canada
My dr. says you cant get subutex in CANADA,not in CANADA and that sucks, I WANT SUBUTEX and xyrem too, lol! CANADA SUCKS! Yet i hear someone say under the worst conditions. No one seems to know the answer for this and i am having reactions to naloxone. We have the Bupe patch, but i dont know if that will replace suboxone! I hope Canada gets it! ## Hello, When you say Bupe patch, are you referring to Buprenorphine? If so, Subutex contains Buprenorphine so I imagine that they should work in similar ways. I've taken vitamin B12 patches and I could tell that the vitamin was much more effective as a patch vs a pill. Hopefully that will be the case with your "Bupe" patches! I'm not sure as to why Subutex isn't available in Canada though, does anyone else have any informati... ...

help with subutex
I am praying someone can give me a little bit of advice on sebutex. I was on day 4-5 withdrawing from lortab, perc off and on for 2 years. Really want to stop so I got a 8mg sebutex from a friend and took 1/4 of it yesterday at 11 am and started projectile vomiting 2 hours later and it lasted all day. I'm wondering how much I should try this morning without it making me vomit again. I was on it 2years ago-3,4 a day and had to quit cold turkey with no taper bc my Dr hauled butt and I was in the hospital for a month. So I only want to use 2 this time so I don't have to withdraw from it. Please help me {edited for privacy} ## @smgxo, Based on my research, vomiting appears to be listed as a common side effect of Subutex. So there's really no telling whether or not a smaller dose... ...

Suboxene/subutex
Why would someone take suboxone and subutex at the same time. Are they not basically treating the same condition? ## Yes, the only difference is that the Suboxone contains Naloxone, to neutralize other narcotics that someone may try to take at the same time. However, the narcotic in both is Buprenorphine, which is used to treat drug addiction and severe cases of pain that is resistant to other medications. Have they both been prescribed to someone? ...

How long do you have to wait to feel an opiote after taking Subutex? ## Subutex only contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, which is a narcotic opiate. It does not contain the Naloxone that neutralizes them, like Suboxone does. Learn more Subutex details here. Subutex may be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

Surely I'm not the only person reading in shock and disbelief,How is it that so many people are unaware of the basic facts and information regarding bup,I am reading in horror that woman are trying to detox during pregnancy ,that is the worst option it is risking both lives,i also read a question regarding the effectiveness of mixing bup with methadone, anyone using these meds should know it causes withdrawals, that's the point of bup,i feel lucky to have drug treatment services that are free but able to stand along what is provided to private patients .Its horrible to think of pregnant woman on bup having to come onhere to ask for info and not telling their dr in fear of judgement or welfare, what is up with a woman thinking its an option to detox at five mnths preg, how doesn'... ...

subutex only drs in pittsburgh
I currently am a subutex dr. at south hills recovery project and desprately need to change. This place is very unprofessional and i have severe medical issues that need addressed. Dr.will not even listen. Please help. ## Hello, Steve! How are you? If you're there to be treated for addiction with the Subutex, then that is what this doctor is supposed to be concerned with, for other medical issues, you'll need to see a different doctor, or see this one on an appointment scheduled just for that if he does such, rather than during your Subutex visits. Is anyone aware of other doctors that they can recommend in that area? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipat... ...

HOW TO TAKE SUBUTEX
(round white pill 155 crescent moon on other side) How should i take my pill. Let it melt like suboxin or swallow it? ## This is not a Subutex tablet, this is a generic for Suboxone, it contains 8mgs of Buprenorphine and 2mgs of Naloxone and it is a regular tablet that's meant to be swallowed. It is not orally disintegrating. Learn more Suboxone details here. This is still a narcotic opiate, so it does carry the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. Are there any other questions? ## hi...i was shocked to read this...is this a new generic for suboxone? i had heard something about the....at a loss for the word, when you have exclusivity for a drug and generics can't be made, i'd not known of suboxone ... ...

subutex- wax squares
Not being able to afford a Dr.-a friend of mine sometimes gives me acouple of her subutex.(like suboxone). They come in a pack where you have to punch out each square..like gum. They are square, and see-through purple. The only markings are a line going down, and a line going across.Like this +, so you have 4 little squares. But today when she gave me some, they looked the same, except there was only ONE line down the middle.I don't know why.Is anyone familiar with this drug-and seen them with just the one line down the middle? I cant find an image of subutex wax squares anywhere on-line so far. Thank you. ## Are you sure they are Subutex? It isn't even listed as being available in this type of formulation in the U.S. It is actually only available as an injection, tablets and film shee... ...

Dr thinks she will be fine i have to stay in hospital for 4 days min w baby they want me to breastfeed yet plan to switch me to strips which i dont understand if strips arent safe while pregnant why is it ok while breastfeeding? ## Hello, Jess! How are you? Congratulations on the baby! :-) While you're pregnant, you basically need to operate on the premise that everything you take in is now going to affect two, rather than just you. Due to the fact that at this time you are actually carrying the baby inside your body, they are more directly affected by everything you do. However, it is different when breastfeeding, because not everything passes into your ... ...
